Title: Dacsunlimited Website
Post by: D4vegee on July 21, 2014, 12:47:25 pm
Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere. But am I the only one who thinks the website is pretty ugly? It looks like it's been designed by a three year old. For a potentially huge Industry and marketcap, can't the website be designed better? Some of the links in the middle lead to 404 pages, hence no content / dead links.

Has or will this be addressed does anybody know?

Very amateur feeling after navigating it. (only the background is great but it isn't enough)

What about:
http://bitshares-x.info/ (http://bitshares-x.info/)

Do you think for a potentially huge Industry and marketcap this is better?  :P

I think dacsunlimited may have an aesthetic to appeals to Eastern internet users.  So while we might think it looks weird or whatever, it might very well fall completely within the expectations of Chinese web users.

Really looking good, I like it.  The "This isn't your Mother's Blockchain" quip made me chuckle.

I don't know where to put notification of typos for this site, but:

PRIVACY

BitSharesX uses TITAN, which provides both greater use-of-use and more anonymity than Bitcoin.

It looks to me like a one-page scroller theme with the navigation broken.  Also the graphics do look a bit cartoonish for my tastes and the front page feels a bit cluttered.  I've seen a lot worse but I think a group of professionals should be able to do better.  Look forward to updates to it as the group is new.

http://cassyo.cc/labs/btsx/index.php looks a lot better.  Novel navigation techniques and the full background images work well.

Very nice.  The Wiki the site links to is very good as well.

http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/Bitshares_X

with a number of use cases that help explain the history, key terms and the big picture regarding how one might use Bitshares X.  It helped me a lot.  I hope this is further expanded to cover delegates and user created assets in more detail but the use cases are the most helpful to me.  Knowing why and how to use the DAC is most important to me.  Good Job!!

That's a great point.

The Cass website looks really nice, simple, and clean.

Yeah I already  +5% to it, but I REALLY like it! GREAT Job!

Thoughts -  Is the font going to be smoothed and maybe given a shadow/border? It looks a little jagged (on the main slogan) & the writing in front of the laptop could stand out more.

Other
-Eventually it would be nice if the screen in the background was maybe showing a share/trading price graph as well?
- I like 'crypto equities' but does that say enough about how X is different? People wouldn't have a clue what 'Market-Pegged BitAssets' are probably so crypto equities may be best.

FYI.
Chinese have ban all service from google.
this web page contain some links from google, like
Code: [Select]
fonts.googleapis.com
 maps.googleapis.com
 ajax.googleapis.com
so people from China can not view  this page without any proxy.

my solutions is add these to my host file, redirection all google service to localhost.
Code: [Select]
127.0.0.1 fonts.googleapis.com
127.0.0.1 maps.googleapis.com
127.0.0.1 ajax.googleapis.com

Overall, looks pretty good.

One minor comment: In the "About" section, the first paragraph of text ends with "BitSharesX makes this possible using the same blockchain technology that powers Bitcoin...."

Instead of describing it as "the same blockchain technology that powers Bitcoin, maybe it's better to describe it as a more advanced/evolved version of the Bitcoin technology. A reader should learn right away about the key advantages of BitShares, whether they are speed, efficiency, decentralization, or security.

Ah .. Am I in danger of legal issues now?

If a government entity says you are, then you are ... because, "they're just doing their job", "terrorism" or "think of teh children".

It doesn't have to be illegal, it just takes some government employee having a bad day to make a decision to exert their power.
