I am looking to sign up for a hosting service to run a delegate node for Bitshares.
Please give recommendations on optimal server specs and bandwidth requirements.
Also, I am looking for hosting provider recommendations and any other considerations when planning and setting up a proper delegate node that will be able to handle required load.

VPS vs Cloud server?

I also think this type of functionality needs to be built into the Bitshares toolkit.
Maybe shareholders can create proposals on fund usage, vote on them, while delegates can pledge funds toward those proposals..

I am looking for recommendations on hosting a delegate node.

 - VPS vs Cloud server vs ?
 - What hosting providers would you recommend?
 - What are optimal specs for a server hosting a Bitshares X delegate node?
 - Any other recommendations related to hosting a delegate node.

wallet_account_register <account_name> <pay_from_account> [public_data] [delegate_production_fee]

Code: [Select]
  delegate_production_fee (uint32_t, optional, defaults to 255): A value between 0 and 100% delegates, 255 for non delegates

I am confused. What is delegate production fee?

Seems creating new assets is very expensive this time..

General Discussion / Re: Dry Run 4: A New Hope
« on: June 22, 2014, 06:10:26 pm »
There is a function
Code: [Select]
wallet_account_vote_summary
Delegate                 For            Against
       --------------------------------------------------------------
bits                     4850000        0

to get allocation of votes by account in user's wallet.

Also, there is a function
Code: [Select]
blockchain_get_account_record bits
Record for 'bits' -- Registered on 2014-Jun-21 02:10:00, last update was 40 hours ago
Owner's key: XTS7TiXSdc4HzMdA1TE4t6p1cADfkbjcGTUL3g6FFmcG95VPhPwtX
VOTES FOR           VOTES AGAINST       NET VOTES           BLOCKS PRODUCED BLOCKS MISSED   PRODUCTION RATIO    LAST BLOCK #    TOTAL PAY
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
0.01021002%         0%                  0.01021002%         27              20              0.5745              3278            2.938955 XTS
to get info about a registered account or delegate.

I wonder if there is a way to look up what accounts (public addresses or registered accounts) allocated votes toward a delegate.
Maybe a new function is needed
Code: [Select]
blockchain_account_vote_summary

General Discussion / Re: Number of Bitshares X at launch
« on: June 22, 2014, 05:35:04 pm »
Maybe Bitshares X would someday be successful and get to $10, $50, $100+ price range, but trying to start at that level at launch with only 4 million shares is not a smart move.

I vote for somewhere in the range of 100 million to 1 billion shares of X at launch.

I agree.
