BitShares PTS / Re: The Market Value of ProtoShares: Price of PTS ?
« on: November 28, 2013, 03:13:15 am »
<cynical>Whatever the current market is paying</cynical> ;)

Hard to say at this point, being part of the genesis block is interesting, though this being a 2 year coin before it is mined out and possibly worthless does factor in.  I'm putting about 75% in cold storage and trading the rest.

You can try deleting all the files in your blocks and chainstate directory in %appdata%\protoshares.  I had to do that the other day and then the transfer went through just fine.  Just do not delete wallet.dat!

I dropped most of my PTS miners because my pool seems to be only accepting about 50% of the submitted shares, with XPM my accepted shares have been much higher.  The RAM requirement of PTS miners hurts too, maybe will get deeper into it in a few months but for now just throwing a couple of PCs at it for fun.  The exchanges are fun and profitable until bots start getting into it.

When the exchange closed there was a buy in for 300 PTS @ .009(2.7 BTC) and maybe 2 more buys for a total of around .05 BTC.  There were several hundred PTS still on the board, I estimate 300-500.  These are all now in Silfax hand along with all the profits made while the exchange was running.

You win some, you lose some.

It sounds like some cryptocurrency nub was the culprit because they only cleaned out the BTC and not PTS.  Anyone with half an idea of what they were doing would have gotten it all.  This supports the theory of a DO employee doing it.

what happens in 2 years?

It increases whenever 4000 and some blocks are found.

Now that I look further into it, my 2.859 which was correct, was duplicated into the 17.144469 which was unauthorized thus successfully emptying my wallet.

What's the deal here?  My wallet was 99% secure and suddenly there was a withdrawal of over 20 PTS from it, unannounced to me.  My Protoshares wallet doesn't show the withdrawal.  Did they fork it during this large downtime of ypool?  I switched over to them with my mining pool for a while, only giving out my payment address and obviously not my wallet.dat.

Block 17082 roughly coincides with when I had transferred some PTS to an exchange, but it was less than 3 PTS.  My wallet is still awaiting confirmations.....been showing 0 out of 6 for almost an hour.
