General Discussion / Re: BitShares Status Update
« on: January 14, 2014, 03:28:15 pm »
Things seem to be moving along very quickly! I think that if you keep moving at this speed, the value of angelshares will go up a lot, since there will be fewer angelshares than protoshares by the time bitshares are released, making each angelshare worth more bitshares! 8)

BitShares AGS / Re: [TRADE] Service: Tradable Angelshares (tAGS)

This is definitely an amazing idea, but I'm actually in this for the long haul. I don't think that it's really necessary for me to have the ability to trade my angelshares. But for people that do want that kind of liquidity, this could be an incredible service

I have posted an updated blockchain dump to demonstrate my progress.  The major step forward here is handling many bids and asks at once.

General Discussion / Re: Marketing Idea: Double Dip PTS to AGS days?
« on: January 10, 2014, 12:01:56 am »
This is an interesting idea, that I think highlights one of 3I's biggest weaknesses, it's very difficult for them to improve their social contract. Anytime they try to improve it a little bit, somebody will say that they're going back on their word. The more obvious the improvement is, like when they gave 50% of BTS to PTS holders instead of 10%, the fewer people will fight it. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody just watched all the small proposed changes that 3I couldn't do because they already defined their social contract, and then started their own company with all those improvements, and then argue that their social contract is better. Of course, this would only work if it actually was better in some way, which would benefit everyone that's a part of the PTS social contract.

Keyhotee / Re: New way to be sure your Founder ID and Key are Registered

Submitted. It's good to know that you have the public key ready to put in the genesis block :)

I'll try making something for this

How do you prevent individual soldiers from going rouge? How do you make sure that the general is held accountable, without the government being able to know his soldiers movements? On the one hand, this sounds ridiculous, on the other hand, if somebody worked out the technical aspect of it, it just might work

And every btc investment increases pts value by having more "real" capital behind things.

The market will do the right thing

The market will do the right thing eventually, but there's always an opportunity to profit when it doesn't do the right thing quickly.

General Discussion / Re: Announcing Angel Shares & BitShares Allocation
« on: January 03, 2014, 02:01:38 am »
Ah, I've realised why the PTS price might be suppressed by the AGS allocation.

To get AGS you either need to contribute to the PTS or BTC fund.

But most Bitshares believers will already have made their max $ bitshare allocation into PTS.
But when they see that the BTC to AGS address is more lucrative than PTS to AGS they willl want to put BTC into there. However they've already invested their max $ into PTS, so the only way for them to unlock/offset funds for the BTC to AGS address is to sell PTS.

So the BTC to AGS address may inadvertantly create some selling pressure on PTS (by Bitshares believers) that is hard to offset with new demand in the quiet New Year week.

This is a very good observation. A lot of people just want to invest with PTS directly, instead of having to wait for an exchange. The result is that it's more profitable to invest in angelshares via Bitcoin than PTS.

What I go out of this was: Everyone who holds even a few PTS will see their investment grow incredibly with a single DAC. I'm looking forward to Bitshares! 8)

Phoenix, wish me luck!

Yeah, we counted the first day as everything prior to Christmas, the second day as Christmas to Jan 1, and one day intervals after that.

wait what? I dont see any payments before xmas...

In our announcement we said we would allocate Keyhotee founders one day's worth (excluding Invictus Shareholders) based upon their contribution to their Keyhotee ID.

How will we get credit for angelshares from our founders ID donations? will it be based on our private keys like normal angelshares donations?

It will be based upon Genesis block and the new public key which you will register to your name.

Ok, thank you!
