So, this thread (https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,16982.msg217348.html#msg217348) unexpectedly got me in the mood to write some poetry about BitShares (which is completely uncharacteristic of me). I was just messing around for fun, but I liked the end result so I decided I'll share it with the community.
From the head of one bytemaster Came ways to avoid disaster In the cryptocurrency space While also making blocks faster
The culprit was the proof of work The whole concept was just berserk Burning power for consensus Just ASIC makers get the perk
More centralizing mining pools Showed status quo would be for fools A new blockchain would be needed Made possible with brand new tools
First delegated proof of stake BitAssets were icing on cake Decentralized, fast and so cheap Many of us now wide awake
The market peg just seemed to hold We now had true digital gold And though core stake was volatile BitUSD price stayed controlled
Now more brilliance is on the scene Since soon we upgrade to Graphene Transactions per second so high And brand new codebase that is clean
Permission system that makes sense Referral program adds up cents And stakeholders retain control Their votes control blockchain expense
Who knows what else remains in store With brilliant devs that we adore Bringing us liberty through code Come join us as we all explore
