Title: hashrate down (was: 1gh under ddos, 90% hashrate gone)
Post by: seraphim on February 07, 2014, 05:56:39 pm
Thanks to all the people who don't care about hashrate distribution over multiple pools :P

The Kimoto Gravity Well will take care about it, but it needs some blocks - join mmcpool or dwarfpool if you're not already mining there!

Interesting.

Seems that MMC is back on the table for profitability... Just gotta have someone DDOS 1gh.

caliboy, what do you expect?
Everyone with a cpu that isn't antiquated can mine it, and if you sell right now you still get out more than the electricity used to mine costs. Even with the ridicolously high energy prices here in germany (0.33$/kWh) it's nearly a 2x roi.

That's been the plan from the beginning - so what's the problem?

no, I think a big miner left... 1gh does not seem to be DDoSsed on the MMC pool (the max pool was DDoSsed last time I check though)

As difficulty goes down, profitability for miners goes up.
So what about the price? Difficulty can be 50% of what it is now and the price can still be profitable.

Ordinarily, I would say the price would go down because it is easier to mine, but the same amount of currency is being released, so it could make no difference.

31k MMC was dumped at one time at around the price that the big miner(s) left.

Hmm that is interesting.
I sold 130 MMC myself to buy some BFL chips for my Jalapeno upgrade.  I did not know so much was being sold.

Holding on still, could of cashed out about a 1000$ worth of MMC, now barely worth a 100$.

Will HODL no point in selling even one MMC at the moment.

The drop was caused by the MAXCOIN release.
