General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion

http://www.hitfin.com/ - Financial derivatives running on Ethereum network.

BTS will face a lot of competition like that.

This is interesting. Does running on Ethereum blockchain mean that the company cannot go bust, take the money and run away?

Technical Support / Re: Need help importing old PTSwallet into 2.0.
« on: March 13, 2016, 09:29:55 pm »
I am not the most tech guy around here to advise you but I don't see "boat11" as registered account.

what you need to do is go to https://openledger.info/ then import your wallet from 9.3c as per http://docs.bitshares.eu/bitshares/migration/howto-importing-wallet.html

you will be asked to chose under which account your balances will be imported. If you still have problems please post again and I am sure someone more techy will be able to help you

I couldn't agree more with TonyK...

Maybe some people need to see again the original video from BM of what is bitshares https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BV55IrZi7g
Just look at the meme of matrix at 3.39 ...That meme was the only thing that convinced me that bitshares and bitassets is the future and unless members of this community start changing the mentality of old fiat, centralized institutions manipulating stocks, money, prices no one else will do..

Some responses in this thread amaze me and I understand now after 2 years why bts has this market cap still..I am really curious how many bail ins, or hacks of centralized exchanges need to happen for people to realize the importance of our DEX..I hope that after a couple of more "accidents" in the future people will eventually learn..

I don't think our DEX is not user friendly as it is. I think it is quite easy to use and this is coming from a person whose IT skills are like a 10 year's old..but anyway..

If you do not sell your bts, why not just held them in your wallet and be the king to your castle?

If you want to sell your bts, why not to do it on DEX?

Because unfortunately there is no liquidity on the DEX..So I can understand why people want to trade on centralized exchanges.

I don't understand why they prefer to keep them there idle instead of their wallet and only transfer amounts they want to sell or (margin trade long/short). Maybe this is happening with bitcoin as well..I don't know since I never had any bitcoins..But I would think that bitcoiners only send their bitcoins to exchanges to trade for a couple of hours/days before they turn to fiat and vice versa. Do they actually leave their bitcoins idle on external exchanges? If that is the case then..I have nothing to say more on that..if that is the case then we deserve as humans to lose our funds from exchanges that get hacked, the same way banks steal depositors funds when they bail in etc etc..

General Discussion / too many bts in centralized exchanges. Danger!
« on: March 09, 2016, 03:22:14 pm »
Please consider withdrawing your bts from external exchanges if you do not intend to sell them.. More than 30% of BTS are in the top two exchanges. This is very dangerous and if something goes wrong with any of these exchanges you can kiss goodbye your bts investment forever.

If you do not sell your bts, why not just held them in your wallet and be the king to your castle?

General Discussion / Re: Marketing plan for Bitshares 2.1
« on: March 07, 2016, 02:20:30 pm »
should we consider Brian Page again to do some marketing with a marketing worker proposal (although I think he already got overpaid and dumped his shares on us so I don't think this might be a good idea..)? or Max Wright? or anyone else? Maybe kencode and Ronny are much more suitable.

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion

anything below $40 mil market cap doesn't even worth discussing it i think..
Talking  about small pump from 0.000009 to 0.00001 and vice versa are insignificant and I think harm bts price..I think we should revisit this thread only when we are x5 of current price..Otherwise people from outside the community see that we think this is a pump and they just dump..
We should start having a bit higher expectations than that people...

General Discussion / Re: How do send the balance from the site exchanger?
« on: February 26, 2016, 12:32:28 pm »
Dear Radent,

First of all welcome to our community. I think that eventually will find out like the rest of us that online bitshares wallet is the easiest, friendly to use  and fastest wallet.

Regarding your question in order to transfer your bts from the external exchange to your registered account on the online wallet you just send the bts to your registered account name. If your registered account name on the online wallet is "radent" and you have bts in Poloniex all you need to do is withdraw your bts to "radent". Just try it out with few bts to test before you send large amounts.

All in all transferring funds (bts, bitusd, biteur, bitgold etc) has never been easier since you transfer them to the registered names.. radent, mf-tzo, superman etc.. instead of using complicated addresses such as 1Jiwrfhjst....

Hope that helps let us know if you need anything else..

P.S once you register your accounts in the online wallet, create a backup and save your password, brain key and export the .bin file and save them in a safe place..
