Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Compliance Work
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:37:50 am »
I haven't decided about this worker proposal but I recognize the importance to be fully compliant if we want bts to become the dominant decentralized exchange.

What I don't understand is why not someone copy the whole bitshares code and create "bitshares Compliant" . The "bitshare compliant" can sharedrop on a 1:1 basis the "BTS compliant token" to "BTS" to those who register and disclose their ID and do all KYC necessary and can prove ownership that they are the owners of the bts address they register within the new "bitshares compliant" network.

This way we will have BTS which operate as usual and  "bts compliant" that operate under full KYC and compliance.

BTS shareholder that chose to disclose their ID will benefit since they will receive free "bts compliant token". The market will then decide the price of each bts and "bts compliant". It is a win win for everyone.

Maybe I am talking nonsense just thinking out loud here..

you don't need a 2nd chain in theory to run a compliant token service. it's already built in bitshares.

however, I think some of the current actors would do good to just fork off.

you can add your request/code https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-ui/

Well I'm an engineer, not a designer, so the landing page looks fine to me :)

I see your points, but that's the problem in bitshares since forever. developers in charge :)

what channels did you use to inform shareholders of the asset bug & hold of creation, or is stakeholder relations not covered in this proposal?

tools to effectively spread the word and market.

imagine if you send someone to bitshares.org/wallet?r=fav now - do you think this landing page is appealing for a new customer?

what is needed is a nice system setup, with different landing pages highlighting different problems and how bitshares solves them.

goal should be to sell LTM memberships & Asset Creations, that's how the network & marketer can make money.

next step: develop more unique features for the lifetime membership program to make it more interesting

in my opinion, bitshares lacks the tools for it.

you need someone who can get a grass roots word of the mouth system up.

in other words: give users the necessary tools to market the blockchain. much more sustaining and effective than time square ads.

voting for witness @startail - seems very active and participating.

as for the new 2 worker proposals, here's my opinion & I'm NOT voting for any.

There's not going to be an ICO, as we want to maintain community ownership. There's not going to be a pre-mine, as we want an organic community around this software.

a sharedrop to bts/brownie.pts holders perhaps? Otherwise you'll give witnesses all power

General Discussion / Re: will atomic swap make bitshares useless ?

yes absolutely, especially since bitshares can't and won't use atomic swap too.

I don't see this as needed or feasible. companies should protect their service in their own jurisdiction.

and since I don't see an american lawyer on the team, the SEC argument is pretty much invalid

my thoughts on this one:

I only know xeroc on their team, and you basically want me to vote for a bunch of (to me) unknown people to represent our multi billion blockchain? I already have some concerns in terms of marketing, because this seems like missing an actual agenda.

Here are the changes I would like to hear your opinions on:

* double the payment, add bitshares.org/support paid team
* for the love of bitshares, get some trusted names as advisors in

* define some clear targets

this whole proposal is too passive in my opinion.

define clear, reachable goals.

for example:

- get in a meeting with 2 exchange every month
- contact 4 high potential businesses

and so on, make it measurable.

bonus:

* get a pro marketer on, call the proposal "marketing", take 150 or 200k for all I care for representative, support, and marketing.

thoughts?
