Now, this is just my opinion but I believe that bitshares need more trading to be happening on the network in order for the market to become more efficient.
Many people simply wait and hope that it's going to happen by itself.
But we already have a few thousand users who for the majority DON'T TRADE.
To me, that's an issue. Especially when the foundation of our business model is to be a decentralized exchange.
Please reply if you either:
- Want to learn how to daytrade on OpenLedger
- Already have experience daytrading on the network.

Have 9 years experience...
Bitshares has a lot of work to do before it can be effectively used for day trading. You could possibly do some swing trading now, but the liquidity is almost to low for that.

Thanks to @svk, we have some documentation about the margin call mechanics at docs.bitshares.eu:
http://docs.bitshares.eu/bitshares/user/dex-margin-mechanics.html
What else do you need to feel comfortable trading? I can definitely add more content ..
