General Discussion / Re: bitUSD on Google

not like that here

The synergy I would see would be to allow all users that have a bitshares wallet (hopefully many in the future) to buy storagespace with your application. But no idea how to realize that technically...

General Discussion / Re: Active (un)voting initiative
« on: August 26, 2015, 07:55:53 pm »
I made this post months ago and still think this list is accurate for who should update or be voted out

-market.cn.group101
-sollywood.sollars-com
-dev0.nikolai
-tradbts.gulu
-media.bitscape
-www.bts-hk
-dev-metaexhange.monsterer.  Are you guys making enough money in fees to lower your delegate pay?
-media.bitscape
-fund.bitsharesbreakout
-delegate.rgcrypto
-dev.sidhujag
-dev-trial.misc.nikolai
-dev-pc.bitcube
-dacx.baozou
-provisional.bitscape
Good list.
I would leave dev-pc.bitcube in as he is actively working.
bitsharesbreakout is a trustworty custodian to distribute funds where needed imo.
Don't know about sidhujag.
But it SHOUDLD BE ON THE DELEGATES TO ACTIVELY UPDATE THE SHAREHOLDERS (pc for example does that).
Bitscape's two delegates with no delivery and no updating/justification why there is no delivery  is quite hard to justify.

These are just proposals... Me bringing a few unproductive delegates to the attention of larger bts holders than me:

Bitscape Media delegate: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,18080.msg232042.html#msg232042

TradeBts (gulu):
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=17782.0

MineBitshares (6 (!) 100% delegates!)
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,16340.msg232666.html#msg232666

Btw, this is nothing personal... and everyone can come out debating their value in puclic...

List the one you think is not providing value anymore...

EDIT:  I have added MineBitshares to my personal list above. Why? Because it has 5 (!!) 100% delegates  in the Top 101 and 2 more 100% percent delegates at 102 and 104. I think Jonathan is a good guy with many talents but the total of 7 100% delegates we are talking about here is A LOT OF DILUTION for an unproven marketing effort! See https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,16340.msg232666.html#msg232666
Note that I asked questions first and tried to get an objective measure for effectiveness of this effort. There was no convincing answer.

I appreciate your reply, thank you! Do you think it could possibly be released after 2.0?

Akado, are you asking for us to release it afterwards?  Or just asking when it could possibly be released?
There will be many short segments as opposed to one large documentary.  Later on we'll see about a feature length doc.
Do you still have the media delegates (or two?)? And can you tell how much BTS you have been able to collect up to now?
Answered one of the above questions myself: http://bitsharesblocks.com/delegate/info?name=media.bitscape
What is needed is transparency and actively keeping the community / bts holders up to date on what is done as compared to the initial proposal.
I m a little disappointed that you kept on collecting the funds without keeping  the community up to date on where you are with the initial plan.
I will unvote your delegate. But vote it in again when you find the necessary tools to realise the initial plan :)

General Discussion / Re: Augur crowd sale
« on: August 26, 2015, 07:23:24 am »
I bought some REP, and plan to use Augur. I wonder how much you can earn for a little "community" work there.
Either prices to use August are higher than necessary or it won't be profitable for someone with relatively little rep to "work"...Economies of scale centralize things.

General Discussion / Re: On-blockchain credit system Ideas
« on: August 25, 2015, 10:07:30 pm »
I have thought long and hard about this particular issue and have identified the following requirements:

1.  Every account needs to verify their identity and sign a legal document that converts on-chain debt tracking into legal obligations.
2.  Every user needs to extend credit to their friends / family
3.  Every debt needs to be marked 'for sale' to a debt collector
4.  Allow ripple style payments.
5.  Charge interest on all debts.
6.  Allow on-chain settlement of debt with bitassets.

Once you have that system in place you have almost everything except my secret sauce for making it all go viral :)
What do you mean by "ripple style payments"?

General Discussion / Re: Building apps on Bitshares
« on: August 24, 2015, 10:26:13 pm »
Anyone interested in addressing the OP?  :D

Simplifying the question a bit: How would one go about creating "a brownie points style gift economy platform", how much development effort would that be, what type of dev effort would be required (front/end back end), is shareholder approval needed and how would that someone profit from it?

I partly have answers to these questions (see my assumptions in the OP) but I want to have a clearer picture.

Other point is, what are the transaction fees in this situation.
Those would the the standard tx fees for the bitshares network as the tx happen on the bitshares blockchain.

General Discussion / Building apps on Bitshares
« on: August 24, 2015, 11:21:53 am »
I have a very specific question:

How much and what type of (front end / back end) development work is needed to realize a colored coins application (say a brownie points style gift economy platform) if Bitshares (2.0) already supports these features (user issued assets and trading of them). I know you can do all that just by using the bitshares wallet but in order to commercialize it an entrepreneur would need to market it with that specific use case. So a website / webapplication that offers tools for a brownie points style gift economy an without all the added functionality of the bitshares wallet would make sense.

Would an entrepreneur build his own front end /web wallet or would it make sense to customize the bitshares whitelabel wallet?
And do you see a chance that for the above use case (brownie points style gift economy) adding features to bitshares (shareholder approval needed) might be required?

Does someone have a high level overview?

I just read so far: Nodes are building trust among each other by initially replying to a challange... then I stopped because he didn't say of what nature that challenge would be... may I read to quickly...
