Also, we must also let go in the belief in authority...which may take a few centuries.

Until then...Vote with your feet!

Awesome!  +5%

Although I seriously doubt ridding humanity of the belief in authority will happen in my lifetime, I think it could happen faster than a few centuries once momentum in the paradigm shift begins to move in that direction. You're right tho, in how deeply entrenched in our psyche it is. Here's hoping Larken Rose will live a long and fruitful life!

People went into the Wild West in search of freedom from authority.
The first thing they found they needed was a sheriff.

We will wind up needing a digital sheriff.

That's just evidence that at their core violence was still present. When we overcome our deep seated appeal to violence to solve problems the need for authority will dramatically be reduced. How will disagreements be settled? by 3rd party arbitration of course.

It is such a radically different context for life I don't think we can even truly grasp it now, as we're so deeply conditioned to think with the violence within us. As rational, peaceful parenting and respect for children increases, so will the violence in society. That's my opinion anyway.

As long as we have our lizard brain we will always have violence... It's in our nature

With all due respect what you're saying here is you've lost YOUR WILL to overcome that "lizard brain", you have made A CHOICE away from freedom and towards enslavement. Putting responsibility on a "lizard brain" is like saying, "I'll probably die young because it's in my genetics", which is an excuse to not take care of your body. You become passive and refuse to exert your will to control that which you may.

@rgcrypto - thanks so much for The Maxtrix Decoded, it blew me away! For those you may not be familiar with Mark Passio, he has been interviewed many times by Jan Irvin on Gnostic Media. I highly recommend his work as well.

When you say "will" you are talking about using a conscious effort to overcome and control something that is subconscious and deeply routed in our DNA.  According to your logic I should be able to use my "will" to stop myself from blinking, stop my heart from beating and stop my lungs from breathing.  I may be able to hold my breath, slow my heart rate, and keep my eyes open, but eventually I need to breath and blink and pump blood through my body.

Our bodies are filled with chemicals and hormones that are released when certain subconscious parameters are met.  These chemicals can cause a range of reactions including fear and violence.  Everyone has different parameters and thresholds for the release of the chemicals, but we all have them.  Unless you plan on removing adrenaline and testosterone from our bodies you won't remove violence.

Why are you naming it after a popular band?  Kind of confusing

General Discussion / Re: Cryptonomex? WTF is this?
« on: June 12, 2015, 10:50:19 pm »

If tomorrow Goldman Sacs commissions Cryptonomex to build them a full spectrum solution based on the Graphene toolkit, is there a way and intent to benefit the BTS stakeholders in any way?

I like your question. Waiting for the answer...

PS.  In place of Goldman Sachs put any big Company of course.

Sent from my ALCATEL ONE TOUCH 997D

GS would spend 3M to build their own tech if BTS devs didn't cooperate with their requests and then they would compete with BTS anyway.  Once this is understood you realize the devs either "take the deal" or "go down with the ship".

BTS stakeholders must make do what it takes to retain talent, period.
Developers must do what makes the most sense to maximize their income, period.

BTS has been public domain thus far, which means anyone could take the code and the developers have been independent which means they are "free to leave".

It really comes down to the community continuing to make "staying" the best option available.   This is FREE MARKET cooperation.

If GS wants to enter the market with a ton of money and produce a product that is compatible with our vision, then it would be stupid for BTS developers to not take them up on a job offer.  It would be stupid for both financial and philosophical reasons, namely, freedom supporting blockchain tech going mainstream is the real goal.
If GS wants to produce a blockchain that is not compatible with BitShares philosophy, then developers should still take them up on it because it would be a DIFFERENT MARKET and they could use the money earned to improve BTS.

Bottom line the only reason for developers to not take them up on it is if they actually think they could compete head to head with GS when all technology is equal.

Any stakeholders here want to promise not to sell their BTS if GS decided to compete by reimplementing all of our ideas?

"No matter what we breed we still are made of greed"

The June 8th announcement was detailed on what could happen, but lacked when this would be put into effect.  Right now it sounds like it may be 3-5 months out.  Most crypto traders don't have that sort of time frame and hot money will start to filter out as bts stagnates around this market cap.

Remember NXT had a value of near 100million last year as well and they are down to 11million.  Ripple was worth near 1billion and has lost 75%.  Crypto is full of pump and dumps because liquidity is thin.

Most of those "transactions" are high frequency trades that are being placed and canceled within milliseconds in order to attempt to front run large orders.  Hft opponents have been trying to place a fee for canceled orders in order to eliminate the hft manipulation.

i have a feeling bts is about to explode any day now... its the right time to put the TPS news out there.

Yes.  The chart for the past several months looks like a huge cup and handle.  And even that handle looks like a mini cup and handle. :)

I feel like BTS should be over 2 cents already.  When Darkcoin (aka Dash) did that rebrand and came out with "instant" transactions and masternodes, its price went up a ton.  BTS just came out advertising stats that are WAYYY better than that, and will support 100000 TPS at a time when Bitcoin's major problem is this blocksize/TPS issue that no one can get consensus on.

And BTS is still massively oversold from that absurd decline of the past few months.

We are on the verge of an enormous rise.  I've got another 100k purchase coming as soon as I receive some coinbase BTC.  I just hope its in time.

I hope that is 100k USD you plan on buying with!

Technical Support / Re: buying bitshares

i think i need to wait until the process is way more simplified guys, this is just way to confusing to get my head around it. Been to ccedk.com opened a account but am still unsure what to do there. Tried buying bitusd and a few other things and i just get more confused.  Really do appreciate everyones help but i think i should wait.

Have you deposited any money into CCEDK?  You need to wire them money and then you can purchase BTS or BitUSD

Bitshares currently doesn't work on hdd. You need an SSD or RAID0/stripe.

That is incorrect.  Bitshares works perfectly fine on a HDD.  I'm using a 6 year old one myself.

What criteria must be met before the dev team decides that they have enough community input in order to release the testbed code?  At what point will their be a "feature freeze"?  Will there be a preliminary announcement of when the feature freeze will take place?
