Title: Stolen Evo coins arrive to BTC-E. Withdrawals halted

Apparently some of the coins the devs stole from their own market (Evolution) which should go around 12M$ are arriving to BTC-E and this exchange decided to halt withdrawals. I found this link on reddit and I must say the discussion is pretty interesting.
.
Is it far for btc-e to take those actions without user's consent? At the same time we're in a free market and they should have the liberty to do it. What do you think?

Also, do you think BitShares could make a difference in this kind of situations? If so, how? Imo, it could, not only by being a decentralized exchange, but also through vote (once it's finished though it should take a while).

Bitcoin is awesome because of all the potential of the blockchain being a public ledger, but at the same time it can have its own disadvantages as someone could know what you do. What's your opinion on this?  :)

Yes, of course. imho, it is completely moral and justified to stop a point blank theft on a massive scale. At the end of the day, btc-e  exchange is a private property and their owners can do whatever they think will be the best for their exchange in the long term.
