Hi guys,
guessing we need a MMC pool asap. Following the other thread here and on bitcointalk! I've recognized that many users are willing to pay small amounts into a bounty/funding pot for the first pool/dev.
If you wanna participate to get this done asap pls post here.
I'll keep post updated and if nesserary i would escrow the funds and after proof pool is operable i will release fund to the winer.
What do you think about? Or perhaps FreeTrade could manage the funds also, but i guess he's busy with other tasks.
So i'll throw 80MMC into pot, if i could pay more i would but without pool i got no chance to find a single block till now.
Post format:

Great! Can it be set up so if you come 2nd/3rd you also get a cut? I'm investing about $1000 getting this done and don't want to be killed by someone who beats me by a day

Since most of us want a pool ASAP:
1. 60%
2. 27%
3. 13%
I'll throw in 100 MMC. Can you please serve as escrow for the funds?
-
sure i can

there is already a bounty gethering going on here: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1558.0
I don't think we need two of them:)

That only goes to one person. This one goes to the first (3) pool(s).
sure i can
Great. Please post your address in the first post, and confirm any received funds. :)
-
we are few days in, no Pool is available.
It might take at least few more days until we get one. (I would say the winner gets it all - which is not that much at the moment)
But it's for you to decide how you do this with your funds. (and I am sure OK with any of it:) )
Stas.

I will add 500 MMC to the bounty

I know our CNO, who's currently being paid 56MMC every 2 hours is working on a pool. There seems to be a few other efforts ongoing too.

Well, what I meant is the voting function of mmc : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=372982.msg3989255#msg3989255
Thogh to be honest I have some problems understanding it:P...the concept changed a bit since MemoryCoin 1.0
Are you the handling the bounty address (MNdLuxr3fQH8vgLen48XK7ozv4z4Lnvsv1)? In that case I would send the 500 mmc to this address now

Guys, the huge 1000 coins bounty is great, but you can do much more if you start contacting CPU mining pool owners, especially small pools. Instead of throwing cash into problem, can just each of us contact every single pool on the lists below? The more messages from different people the better.
Look for CPU mining pools here:
http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?PHPSESSID=vrraigjstd5qf83fi9u3fej4n3&board=25.0
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?board=11.0
http://dtc.gpool.net/
MemoryCoin 2.0 is a great opportunity that pool owners are missing. This is the next big thing after XPM and PTS mining. If they can get the first MMC pool up and running they can get really big, like ypool. Tell them about it!

Since everyone is so interested, I will make sure to post the link of the pool here first before I create the thread :)

XRamPool Pre-release:
http://mmc.xpool.xram.co/
Feel free to give it a try! I still have some work to do to improve it before I offically release it, but it works.
Let me know of any problems.
EDIT: I need a Windows build of the mining program, can anyone make one? I have no experience with such a thing :)
EDIT2: Before someone asks, one out of every 16 hashes generated on average is a pool share. My computer takes 10 minutes to generate a share, and it is a speedy i7. Be patient!

I'm new to linux, so I probably did it a roundabout way, but this worked for me.
wget "http://mmc.xpool.xram.co/assets/files/memoryminer.tar.bz2"
bzip2 -d memoryminer.tar.bz2
tar xvf memoryminer.tar
cd memoryminer/src && make -f makefile.unix
./memoryminer -poolip=mmc.xpool.xram.co -poolport=1339 -pooluser=MFzMSd59tDq8DSSXhCmDA7fXEqbacDxHeA -genproclimit=8
Miner is working and submitting shares! Thanks! On the website it says "Run the miner like this: ./primeminer", though it should be ./memoryminer
Again, great work!

Maybe I should be lucky enough to find a block today :-[

I shall switch to this pool once difficulty surpasses 750. Solo mining is still a safe bet!
Also, the bounty should be enough to set a 0% profit by donation only community standard!
-
In top written
Difficulty: 0.000005 Round Shares: 140
And figured that one block it will be searched for about 1000 shares.

Be patient!
This miner is xolocram miner based. The code extract the build-in miner from the memorycoind. I've try it too, with very many unsatisfation. Have the same problems to mine in solo.
I still near to finish my pool too. It is with LP support, and maybe will with stratum too in future.

You can do it directly from linux, install the mingw libraries, and use the makefile.mingw. It will compile the exe file.

http://www.mmc-pool.com is really nice from the administration.
I have setup my worker with 0.5% Donate ;)

I will try that, thanks FaSan
Also, the miner was Xolokram based, it says on the front of it. I built it quickly, but I am unexperienced in making the miner. I have some work to do with stats... but I relize it was rushed way to much.
Do you know mininum payout ?
Read the FAQ! :)

Just waitin' on a windows miner for 4-5 more hpm to throw at a pool. :)
-
http://mmc.xpool.xram.co/ just found block 2065 , that great.
-
Unfortunately I have to go for many hours.
Just so everyone knows what I have planned as soon as I return tomorrow:
* Show better stats on the memory miner (that would make everyone happy, right? :))
loaded onto a cloud and got this

* Fix that (thanks for the bug report)
Just waitin' on a windows miner for 4-5 more hpm to throw at a pool. :)
* (hopefully) build a working windows miner
* Add hashes/min to the pool stats, also number of workers, and "round luck"
* Potentially lower pool fee (but the server must be payed for and I dont know if I will win this bounty, that is all :( )
...and I have all morning to work on it!
EDIT: Block #2 has been found! (2077) that was really fast. I think we are getting lucky, it is supposed to take ~1000 shares on average...

Wow! Two pools!!! You guys are amazing.
Congratulations to both of you.

yeah... even so, it is still in very early beta (which will change by tomorrow with the fixes I have planned)... but an informational thread would be good.
EDIT: THe pool started up and then crashed again... not good. Working to solve right now (even though I should be in bed :))
-
That would be a good idea. Would this work with Ubuntu or only linux at the moment?
Would appreciate it if someone could post a quick tutorial on how to start mining, would like to add some hash power to the pool.
Thanks and great job!

I don't see any miner/pool for windows yet. is there one?

Look at the todo list, I am working really hard to make one, but I have not yet succeeded... :(
As said before, if anyone was able to figure it out, that would save me a ton of headache and help me work on other things of the pool which really need improvement.
NOTE: I am creating teh pool thread now, so all comments should now be directed there if about XPool.

zvs, the pool is down. I am working on fixing it. The fact you are seeing 111 is a good thing, it means the miner should work perfectly when the pool is up and running again.

hi Kellerbyte ? Do you will pay my MMC before ? I got 6 MMC on your pool before It down.. you can check it. MMQENGwx9EJPRKkdbTVauX2AEH81Umup69
thanks

yes, once the pool is up and MMC is confirmed, you will be payed.
If you would like to have greater confidence in the fact that this will happen, just know that I run a small-time XPM pool (http://xpool.xram.co) and Datacoin pool (http://dtc.xpool.xram.co/)... and payouts are executed for any users with a balance of at least 0.5 XPM (or DTC).

1_50%
2_30%
3_20%
other suggestions welcome!
edit: sry filled in wrong amount
Thank you, but I've start this work as CNO, it's not right to take money from this bounty too. Please divide the amount to XRAM and MMCPool ;-)
And of course... continue to VOTE ME 8) 8) 8)
