Title: Do you plan to sell some BTS in the next bubble?
Post by: nomoreheroes7 on October 21, 2014, 01:29:29 pm
I feel like the next bubble for BTS will be significant. As in, if everything is as awesome as has been teased, we could see an absolutely absurd rise in price in an extremely short time. But from looking at the historical chart, I feel like I should have sold some during the first bubble over $100 million cap, and increased my position on the fall.

But how do you call the top of the bubble? How do you know a quick fall is nothing more than a bear trap, and you sell some at a price never to be seen again? What if the price does rise exponentially higher than anyone is anticipating, if say an announcement really were that powerful?

Is it better safe than sorry, if you truly believe in BitShares long-term? Hold to the bitter end? Or risk some for that chance to build up your BTS base?

Don't aim to time a speculation bubble, look for real growth.  The real measure of success is market cap and volume of the bitassets.  If a huge bubble of BTSX (or BTS) goes up to hundreds of millions or over a billion with hardly any use of the bitassets, imo it's likely to pop.  If the bitassets rise proportionally, then it should be more stable and more promising of future growth.  Not that this is a magic formula or anything, just something to keep in mind.

It's easy to play the market in retrospect. I have had it recommended to me to sell in stages if you need the money. For example sell 10% at $1, another 10% at $5, etc.

Any price speculation for BTS, once it's made liquid?

Seems like it should be worth more than it was before the 'proposal' with Invictus now working only on it + with vote making it much better, but then if bitcoin is going down it could get dragged down with it.  I guess 40-80mil market cap, before marketing launches in December.

Never sell BTS, just trade on the internal exchange.

Never sell BTS, just trade on the internal exchange.
Agree. It is much more safer.

Hold to $1 and sell 10% of stake to recover capital and take profits.

Thereafter sell 5% of stake at each doubling.

Repeat until 10% of original stake remains.

Hold for future generations.

Disclosure: I'm holding to $10 and then divesting per above. But I'm an optimist...

I will sell at least 10% at *10 (0.30$). That's my clear mind speaking.

My emotional mind will probably sell already some of my stake at *3 / *4 (and rebuy at the inevitable correction :D)
