MemoryCoin the Charitable CryptoCurrency

By MemoryCoin User
January 08, 2014

Los Angeles, CAThe MemoryCoin community announced today that any charitable organization that wishes to become MemoryCoin's Official Charity, can publicly declare itself a candidate to receive a 1% donation of all coins mined; as of today this amount of MemoryCoins translates in to about a few hundred dollars a day.

Like other cryptocurrencies MemoryCoin promises to empower the economically and financially marginalized, allowing individuals to participate in the internet economy even when they live in countries where credit card companies and PayPal refuse to operate. Individuals can store and transfer wealth with just a memorized pass phrase.

Cryptocurrencies like bitcoin received a lot of media attention last year after many early adopters became millionaires, but with the creation of new, faster and specialized chips, mining these other cryptocurrencies are no longer accessible to the average user. MemoryCoin is different said one MemoryCoin user

About MemoryCoin

Community members claim that MemoryCoin decentralizes currency mining. While Bitcoin mining requires the use of expensive, specialized hardware, MemoryCoins are efficiently mined on ordinary computer hardware like PCs and laptops. Anyone can download a program and start mining MemoryCoins.

Decentralized mining is said to ensure:

•   a wider and fairer distribution of the currency
•   easier to obtain – anyone with a computer can do it
•   participation for the economically marginalized – individuals don’t require an account with a bank or exchange – anyone can mine new coins with a PC by consuming electricity

MemoryCoin Grants

A member of the MemoryCoin support team said that the programmers built MemoryCoin With charity in mind integrating a special sequence in to the cryptocurrencies algorithm than ensures that 1% of all newly mined coins are earmarked for charity, these charities are voted for by MemoryCoin holders.

The destination of another 5% of all newly mined coins are also voted for by MemoryCoin holders, these coins are used to finance the MemoryCoin infrastructure, and other tasks including marketing, programing, and support thus ensuring the growth of the MemoryCoin ecosystem.

Very interesting!

I'll open a website / we'll add a section in our coin's website to showcase all these offers.

maybe the OP could already open a webpage  ::) I would try it when I relocate.......
Offtopic - Try Autodesk's Homestyler (on Android and iOS) - I was one of the developers there :)
Great app for redesign

Hi all, I've received numerous PMs of skilled people wanting to join in and work for the marketing division.
First of all, I would like to thank everyone that PMed me! I will definitely use your services, each at his best expertise, when the time comes.
For now I would like to welcome The Architect as the first one to receive a freelance project from the marketing division and hope to have a business cooperation with a lot more people from the community in the near future!

Thanks

I voted for you, but have a few comments on #5 and #6.

#5 - Not sure we need faucets.  We're not marketing to newb cryptos just yet, but more advanced cryptos.  Instead, donations / tips to MMC community volunteers and supporters.

#6 - Completely Disagree.  You should "take the salary all for yourself" - it's yours, the community trusts you with it.  That doesn't mean "go and cash it all out"...although you're free to.  It means you have authority to decide what to do with it.

It's your responsibility to execute faithfully and not break that trust.  The blockchain will show us what you do with it, don't worry. It passing to / through you should be considered stewardship with autonomy and responsibility.

#5 - Not sure I agree here. Our Windows client is the simplest client of all crypto coins I've tried. It makes mining so easy, as Freetrade phrased it something like: "Even your grandmother can mine MMCs" :) So I think driving people to download the client and start the easy mining process is a very good thing for the coin at this stage.
#6 - My agenda was always to not be greedy and not take it all to myself. And this explains the next post: :)

Hi there,
This is great!
One of the most important things for a coin is for it to have a usage other than converting it to BTC or Fiat.
I wish more people / businesses would offer services for MMC.
If there will be enough demand, I'll open a website / we'll add a section in our coin's website to showcase all these offers.

Good luck!

I stand corrected - you're doing a great job on that giveaway - where can I send funds to support it?

Thanks! :)
I'm funding it from my CMO address, so you can send it there:

The CMO should make a announcement to IT/TECH blogs, online newspapers  and such medias.
After making this announcement with some information on what MMC is and what has been accomplished so far and what the next step is, send that to the support team leader for translations. Then we spread it to all the tech/it blog owners we know, all the papers that seems relevant for the topic and other medias you can think of. This way we get exposure, fast and easy. Also continuing to make posts and threads in relevant forums is also a good idea, also updating those posts already created as soon as updates are released.
Good idea.
I will start writing a press release emphasizing the unique and innovative points

The objective is to increase demand.

Offer a Lottery for all MMC users.

105% of the coins are paid out.

Make the payout split between 3 contestants from 65%, 25%, 10%

This should offer users incentive to start mining MMC.

I may work on this little idea :)
Cool!
Let me know when it's ready :)

The idea was to get people to download the wallet and hopefully the easy mining option will increase chances they will start mining and get involved.
How do you suggest we "kickstart people's mining by mathing with small amount"?. Open to any idea.

Started a giveaway thread on BitCoinTalk:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=404762.0

For new users only, to try and get more people downloading our client.
I believe the easy mining option there will do a great job in getting people to start mining it and slowly get them to be involved with the coin.

#1: Encourage Miners to Adopt the coin (Mine and HOLD)
#2: Promote Demand (stimulate buying and possibility of profit by presenting calculations)
#3: Create an Application that can be utilized by the economically marginalized. (Present the normal individual with reasons why to mine MMC with a less-than-three minute video) [Possibly multiple jobs on fiverr?]
#4: Promote the exchange of services and goods by transfer of Memorycoin.
#5: Create a marketplace to sell MMC for other things rather than Bitcoins.
#6 Create an EASY tutorial with big and colorful letters and little steps. Make it easier to mine than bitcoins.

MAKE THE WEBSITE AND APPLICATION APPEALING TO THE GENERAL PC USER SO THEY WILL ADOPT.

Any individual who runs for CMO and makes these ideas happen will get my vote.
These are great points.
Thank you

I completely agree,
As you saw in the poll I've started - I value the community's thoughts and would like to consult with them on my actions.
We should keep discussions transparent and consult with the "wisdom of the crowds".
