General Discussion / Re: The web wallet is a must use sales tool.

When viewed through my Galaxy Note 4 and Chrome, the edges get cropped and you can't read all the text, and zooming out and scrolling doesn't really work.  I know its a web wallet and not a mobile wallet, but I don't have any issues on any other web pages.  I have not signed up because of this.  Otherwise, keep up the great work!

Confirmed.  Multiple BTS orders placed and went through.

BTS & BTC withdrawals enabled!!

Ahhhhhhhh, finally... :)

How long did it take to process?  I did a small BTS test withdrawal, but could only wait for 10-15 minutes before leaving for work.

I love Sonar Music Festival - its one of the best ones on electronic music sector !!

In my opinion, due to the nature of DJing and promoting, Peertracks seems best suited for the electronic music world - thats not to say of course they can't be successful elsewhere.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Freebieservers.com is here
« on: March 09, 2015, 06:54:16 pm »
Very nice proposal - I would vote.  As others mentioned, 5 delegates may be of concern, and I would recommend a tiered proposal system in one of two ways:

1.  Cumulatively commit to deliverables for each delegate that gets voted in for you.

2.  Tie delegates to features.  That way the community could vote specifically on what they want to see developed.

Personally I would go with the first suggestion. As the community sees  that you are committed to providing value and delivering what you've promised, they will be more willing to vote in additional delegates.

I suspect that moving to monthly meetings may be a good compromise.

I also think the bitshares TV venue is better organized and presented.

BitShares TV would actually be the best venue, but mumble is ok as long as you don't talk about Bingo  8)

On a side note, scarcity increases the value of your time.

EMV mandate

Chip and Pin

Pretty bogus website and the article is written like some weird get-rich-quick type scheme. Who is the author and how does he know all of this? Hasn't even cited any sources lol.

Its a legitimate site. Its run by Porter Stansberry and Associates.  Stansberry runs a newsletter firm.  They offer about a dozen differ programs that cater to different niches.  Resources, dividends, retirement trading etc.  Their actual content is pretty decent.  If you were to subscribe to one of their programs and trade as they describe, you would turn out ok.  The problem is, once you're on their list, they constantly bombard you with advertisements for all their other programs, and they use hyperbole to sell products.  But cmon, how many times have you heard bitcoin to $10,000? If you click on one of their ads, its an example of what I thought Brian Page was going to do with his 'funnel sites.'  Of course that was fluff too.

The openness of the dev team is what drew me into the PTS / BTS community.  I have not seen any other community work together to solve complex issues as seen on this forum.

Was DevSahres created to be a testing ground for new radical features for BitShares?  A simple solution might be to just start talking about changes to DevShares instead of BitShares.  This gives everyone a chance to see if the radical idea's work or not.

How many will remain users?

New users is a bit of a glamour metric....its how many users you retain which is important.

This is very relevant to BitShares: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/waze-shows-wayto-scale-up-fast-sometimes-youve-got-slow-bob-sutton

Consider what Waze CEO Noam Bardin did in 2010. This navigation software firm had just received $25 million in funding. Investors were pressuring him to hire new employees, add features, and expand to new markets. But Bardin (pictured above) was concerned because Waze was losing new U.S. customers at a rapid rate and he wasn’t sure why (only 8% of users who started using Waze still did so 90 days later). So he implemented a hiring freeze and asked every employee to help figure out why their product was driving new users away. After six weeks of analysis, employees turned to removing the customer pain points they identified. They released a new iteration of Waze about once a month for six months. As Bardin wrote in an inspired post on LinkedIn last month:

“We created a list of the issues getting in our way; this included big things (the map wasn’t good enough in a region or our response time from our routing servers was too slow) to small things (confusion arose when audio prompts said “keep right” instead of “exit right” in the US to get off a highway.) By clearly defining and knowing what our MIT [“Most Important Thing”] was at that point (retention vs. acquisition), we decided not to hire any more people until we could implement our plan since new people hurt output in the short term, and focus our time and effort on the right things. Six months later we hit 30% 90-day driver retention and it continued to grow from there. Once we knew we were on the right track, we could re-evaluate out MIT and look at our next one.”

These improvements propelled customer retention and acquisition. Waze now has over 50 million users and was acquired by Google for over a billion dollars in 2013.

Meta / Re: Will we ever reach 1.0?
« on: February 19, 2015, 07:53:12 pm »
I think an equally important question is will we ever have a set of features that are irresistible to  Bitcoin traders? i.e. being able to trade BitBTC/BitUSD with margin. Bytemaster talked about the bond market where we can borrow using arbitrary collateral, but we never got a rough timescale for these things.

What we do hear about is strange discussions about making the client more "fun", which was a distraction from perfecting the core product.

+5% on more transparency.

Multi-tabbed markets
Common price widget panel available on all screens
The amount of whitespace in the market is a disgusting eyesore - you can't resize anything
Not enough use of colors in the orderbook

------------------

Until the dev team realizes that the only people who want to use the market are fanboys that are willing to put up with these flaws.  If it doesn't look good, people won't fucken use it, and instead, they'll lose their money on BTER while they wait for the internal markets to not suck.  And not only will people not use it, they will just the security of the network based on the way the user interface works.  It may not be a fair assessment, but tough shit.  You get judged by how you look.  Thats life.  Until BitShares becomes more concerned with looking good than piling on new features, its markets will suffer from lack of liquidity.

The product is in beta. You are no more than a product tester. When there's a finished client/wallet, then we'll talk. Oh, but that's right, you're gone already. One and done.

This is a bullshit.  A new user is frustrated about their experience.  If we want to grow, we're supposed to be helping people, not showing them the door.  If you think that new users ought to be spending hours troubleshooting their issues, while still remaining excited about BitShares, you're insane.  This is not beta software.  It is in production and its out in the wild and can be downloaded by anyone.  Beta is just this communities excuse for buggy, unpolished software.
