General Discussion / Re: So you want to go viral...

I'd recommend creating an initiative in this space:

If something opened up, it could lead to some serious adoption.

The porn industry jumped to mind but here is more complete list of high risk merchant industries.

Ok, ** NOW ** we are freaking talking marketing. This is game over right here. There are so many industries that can immediately see huge gains from bitUSD.  +5%  +5%  +5%  +5%  +5%

I would also add to the plan

- Easy to digest quick videos and information packets from marketing
- A delegate willing to step up to handle this lucrative sector
- Hell yes, let's divert the resources

Good work  +5%

Where can one sign up to receive these newsletters?
http://bitshares.org/stay-tuned/

Thanks.

Those with Bitcointalk accounts should participate in a thread I just made to to give Bitshares more exposure in the ALT cryptocurrency community. It is a thread for Bitshares' newsletters.

If you haven't made a comment here, please take a minute and leave on.  It's important that we leave meaningful comments that keep it the thread in the public eye.

General Discussion / Re: Proposal: everyone just go buy some shares.

Yea, nice mini rally going on...but my pessimistic side tells me it has risen too quick, and will get pummeled down once again.

That would be awesome if 0.084 was truly the bottom...madness has to end somewhere.

The rally is only temporary. I called the bottom and it's about at the top right now. We wont see 0.02 unless something important happens.

No new information so market movements don't seem to be based on anything. MineBitshares hasn't kicked in yet either.

Not everyone lives in this forum. The newsletter is also posted on Bitcointalk and some of us are pushing it in social media. Who knows what will happen in the short term, but communicating outside the forum is a good step.

I would argue 'we' should always be changed to 'I'. Create a campaign, get some people involved and just push. Decentralized effort is discussion is great, decentralized action is even better.

Create a board dedicated to proposals. It would consolidate the clutter and give those that want to discuss it an area to play.

I bought a large amount at 8000, I bought another large amount at 7000, bought around 15 btc this morning.. oh well.  In the next end, I'm gambling this ends up as the #1 or completely insignificant in the long term. What matters now is how we proceed, the price will work itself out one way or another based on what this community can accomplish.

Great newsletter.

Picked up another 16 BTC woth of BTSX this morning on BTER. I'm either an idiot or saw an amazing deal. :)

Pay them to do WHAT?  Just cause they are a "top developer".  Do you have a project plan?  Work breakdown structure?, milestones?, roadmap?  You seem to just want to "hire" people and give money to people without clearly identified objectives or measures.

Hence the need for BitUSD...  BitUSD makes BitPay unnecessary and allows merchants to accept payments directly.

I would argue that's fairly idealistic in the near future. I like the vision, but would prefer a bridge. Payment processors are a great way to bridge this great technology to those that aren't willing to go hard core.  With a payment processor, the merchant can decide which part of the transaction they get paid in fiat and what part is paid in crypto.  Look at the Shopify announcement by GoCoin, 10s of thousands of businesses are able to accept payment with little work. Now when you approach businesses about BitUSD, you can inform them that it's already being accepted by thousands of businesses.  It's a jump start, not a final destination.

I recommend looking at this response from Gamey:

There's only so much development time and marketing capital.

I will vote MeTHoDx in as a marketing delegate with 100% pay rate.

I would suggest a public discourse with Brian to ensure your marketing efforts do not conflict with I3's strategy (whatever that may be).

Exactly, I hate to think we are overlapping work because nobody knows what's happening behind the scenes.

I am of the opinion that an upgrade of this sort needs an entirely new name.

Pollyshares powered by bitshares toolkit.

I kindly request that we not confuse the bitshares brand.
