I'd go with metaexchange.info BTC > Exchange > FIAT just to support our own gateways. your way is probably faster

BTC is poor to exchange in the UK.  The rates cause me to loose loads :(

Currently 1 BTC = 166GBP (247USD)

Is this the norm right now?  (Piss poor).

normal to a fault ...exactly just like BTC-E and OKcoin 's 247 USD .... normal price .

If you need fiat I'd use a gateway to get btc then sell it on local bitcoins or something. Otherwise if you are just reducing your BTS exposure then get some bitusd

Hold your BTS unless youre desperate for cash imo.

If youre desperate, the best place to trade for fiat is at btc38, but you would get CNY, not USD.  If you want USD, youre going to have to go to bter, sell for btc, go to Bitfinex or whatever, sell for USD.

Hey, I use Coinfloor.com in the UK.  You need to scan docs (proof of address and identity) to get gbp into your bank acc, the fee is a flat £10.  Not much action on there but if you want to withdraw and don't mind their affiliation with the inland revenue they seem pretty safe.  Think it takes 3-5 days

I go...

https://metaexchange.info/ or
https://blocktrades.us/      for      BTC    >   https://localbitcoins.com   >   FIAT

I'd be going to other way with those examples, though. Lousy time to sell.

He is assuming you're trading bts for fiat so you don't loose money while the bts price goes down. Instead of trading it for fiat, you can trade it for a bitAsset, which has the same stability, plus, you help the ecosystem. Of course if you need cash it only makes sense to withdraw, but if it's just to escape this down trend, you can just trade it for bitAssets. Much more simple, faster and has the same perks
