I have started the revolution.

Overthetop please register eagleeye in the platform.  Do not let anyone make donations to the account.

you, my friend, are going to be a fun addition to our motley band of wayward travelers...

I already like you.  You should really check our mumble out sometime.

(To Admin Fuznuts)  Who are you in the BitsharesX other than admin of bitsharestalk? (which is significant)  Can you get me in contact with the team

I hope I am a fun addition.  What is mumble?

Mostly I am an enthusiast of crypto who very much agrees with you--business is a form War (competition with dangerous risks for the losers).  However, I also agree that the ecosystem has room for 1,2 or even 3 big platforms (think Google, Yahoo and Bing...if we are talking the analogy of Search Engines).

As for why I am an administrator of Beyond Bitcoinx, I suppose I'll have to leave that to others to explain because quite frankly I am doing something that, I believe, anyone here could do... which leads me to the Mumble Server.

As far as Mumble goes, we have a community Mumble Server where Developers, Delegates and community members can show up to provide project updates and reach out to the community.  These sessions can be recorded (a default option for all users) and used as creative commons marketing, educational, pr, or journalistic content.

It is a place where investors go to ask Dan the tough questions he told me a long time ago he wanted people to ask him.  I am too much of a Dan fan, though, so I am too biased to really be "hard" on Dan.  So I leave that up to other attendies... :)

So really, anyone could do what I am doing (the server is available for anyone to set up hangouts/meetups/conferences).  However, for some reason very few people seem to want to organize them and prefer to show up as an active audience member.  So I suppose fate keeps telling me what I need to do through the actions of the community and devs.  Hope that gives a semblance of an answer.  Feel free to stop in and bullshit sometime man.  I meant it when I said you would be fun...even "in war" it is important to have fun when possible.

You'd probably also have some sound advice that is always valuable too.  We can all teach each other something of value...

There is no why needed, the why is in the way you talk, your post count and your seniority in this specific technology. (referring to why you are Admin)

Mumble server sounds cool.  How do I get onto it.

Also, thank you very much for your words to me.

P.S. I think I might be a pigeon ;)

lol.

You are theFuzz.

General Discussion / Re: A serious security concern about BitSharesX wallet
« on: September 01, 2014, 08:21:29 pm »
The data directory for Linux is ~/.BitSharesX

This contains the same data as the %AppData%\Roaming\Bitshares X directory in Windows.

I deleted that and bithsaresx and it still found the info... I am happy right now as I just downloaded it  in win,so I do not have to wait again but can somebody provide directions how to make clean install in Ubuntu? Thanks.

[edit] And now after importing the new account the other accounts are gone...weird.. rescanning...

Hehe solved the mystery... :)

When you do cd bitshatesx it actually takes you to the first sub-folder named 'bitshatesx' it finds. And as the last one accessed was the one in the trash it takes you there. If you do not pay attention you build it there...

So to be sure one must do

 cd home/username/bitshatesx

Posting this just in case somebody else runs into this 'mystery'.

Congrats on 1000 posts. :)

Hi,

Who are the developers, and are they on this forum?

The developers on on this forum ;)

Hehe.  :)      Whoever is developing bitshares.

All development is discussed on these forums and if you have something in particular you would like to do/say then I can help you.

I have heard of the Mumble server.  I can help with this.

General Discussion / This forum software is good *i was wrong*
« on: September 01, 2014, 07:48:03 pm »
*title has been changed, I was wrong*

I do not want any ownership in the forum and I do not want to be an Admin (DO NOT).

I just want the most comprehensive forum software out there.

Also I do not want to distract the developers, so whoever is setting up the software should not be working on core features.

I will donate 60 - 80% of it, if someone or a group is willing to donate with no intention of getting rewarded then I am happy.  We will start a community movement.

If you look at http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/ it is the cleanest and best looking.

The title has already been changed.  I may have strong opinions but I am pragmatic.

dealing with things sensibly and realistically in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations.
"a pragmatic approach to politics"
synonyms:   practical, matter-of-fact, sensible, down-to-earth, commonsensical, businesslike, having both/one's feet on the ground, hardheaded, no-nonsense; informalhard-nosed
"she remains pragmatic in the most emotional circumstances"
antonyms:   impractical
relating to philosophical or political pragmatism.
LINGUISTICS
of or relating to pragmatics.

Do not think of this as a war.  Think of this as a race between competitors.

Much better title! :) Yes, a friendly/healthy competition.

Own your enemies. If you really feel NXT is the enemy then buy shares in it.

Why would you buy shares in your enemy?  Sure we can look at this differently in terms of different words to use but this is disruptive technology.  Lets be the first to be the biggest.  For fame and fortune, my friends

If you want to change forums, I will donate enough BitShares for a vbulletin forum software it is the best, as used by the top forum operators in the world found here, http://www.thebiggestboards.com/ .  (There use to be www.big-boards.com which had a better useface but for some reason it disappeared.)

If you look at http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/ it is the cleanest and best looking.

I would prefer that a group of us donated to buying the vbulletin, as it builds community among serious members/users.

869
ON this forum, it would be better for communication among users and the development of a community for "My Messages" at the top to display a (1) or (2) beside it if there are 1 or 2 unread messages.

General Discussion / Re: Delegate Legal Fund
« on: September 01, 2014, 04:34:41 pm »
Delegate's earnings is visible on the blockchain - type "info" on the command line.
Spending varies but I doubt it is enough to pay expenses (in my case it isn't, on some VPS instances it could be).

I do not have the system installed as I am a technologist but not that competitor literate meaning, I know how long things take because of immense trial and error (developing over 50+ websites and businesses) but I still do not know how to reformat.

Would you be kind enough and please tell me, it would be much appreciated?
