Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Legal Council about BTS and No-action
« on: February 16, 2018, 05:01:34 pm »
@xeroc Do you think HERO and Hertz algorithm based assets would be treated any differently than traditional smartcoins such as bitUSD/bitCNY?

Cheers :)

General Discussion / Re: BitShares Discord Tip Bot
« on: February 10, 2018, 12:35:09 am »
I feel that a problem with all tip bots is that you must deposit funds onto them which introduces a large amount of centralized risk. What would be far safer would being able to deduce an user's bitshares account from their discord name if different - that way you could easily just send them the funds directly instead of worrying about an individual running away with users deposits.

I don't think openledger's FIAT offerings are in the picture here, we're talking about new FIAT onramps through lykke not OL.
First importantly, the only on/off ramp that will open there is against BTS once we have legal clarity for BTS (hint: read the worker proposal: http://www.bitshares.foundation/worker/budget/2018-02-legal-council-bts) ... the plan is to go further and request legal clarity for bitassets for currencies like bitUSD, bitCNY etc ..
I'd think that the bitassets would be far less questionable than BTS itself, because there is less of the mixed up equity terminology surrounding them.

Looks good, though I'm not entirely fond of pandering solely to Bittrex. That said, a successful no-action intent from the SEC would probably be massively beneficial for future exchange addition. Idk if we should be pushing BTS to centralized exchanges as much as we should be pushing bitassets - for one bitassets lock up collateral, and another non-BTS assets held by centralized exchanges pose no voting threat (exchanges voting with BTS, unless bitAssets count towards polls?)..

I signed up for a lykke account today and even bought some of their shares.

I hope they can be a real fiat on off ramp for bitshares
Problem is that we need off ramp too and openEUR, USD does not workfor some reason.

General Discussion / Re: [ANN] Payger - Payment + Messenger
« on: February 09, 2018, 01:05:12 pm »
Payger is an exit scam for the Blockpay project.

More on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2804399.0

Christoph defrauded Blockpay token buyers from the pre-ICO

He transferred proceeds from ICO funds on his own accounts.

https://busy.org/@stevepaterson/the-face-of-the-bitshares-foundation-ico-crowd-magazine-manager-annemieke-dirkes-threatens-to-blackmail-business-partners

Surely Blockpay tokens are being brought forwards to this new project? After all, blockpay's website redirects to the payger website. If not, eww.

@ag2: Speaking of the VIX, it just got halted! https://twitter.com/carlquintanilla/status/960880138257948673

Time for Hertz to replace the VIX? :D

What are your plans for publishing price feeds for smartcoins?

Would you consider publishing price feeds for Hertz? https://sites.google.com/view/hertz-aba/

Thanks  +5%

We forked the pricefeed script form https://github.com/pch957/btsprice and made some changes.
The basic smartcoin lists are : “BTC”, “SILVER”, “GOLD”, “TRY”, “SGD”, “HKD”, “NZD”, “CNY”,
“MXN”, “CAD”, “CHF”, “AUD”, “GBP”, “JPY”, “EUR”, “USD”, “KRW”, “ARS”

About Hertz  I saw an  issue here https://github.com/pch957/btsprice/issues/4
We may publish feeding price for Hertz after doing more research

I've increased the bounty to 750 bitUSD for Hertz implementation in btsprice, I would massively appreciate its development if you're considering accepting the task. Its inclusion in btsprice will likely result in another 5 price feed publishers which would be excellent for Hertz!

Looking forwards to your future witness updates  +5%

General Discussion / Re: OpenLedger is tracking you.

That's not cool, this kind of analytics should be only within the openledger web wallet. Bit of an invasion of privacy without prior approval :/

Its removal sounds appropriate.

Bump! Any interest in the btsprice dev bounty?

Once wackou has created a new release, verbaltech's feeds will line up with the other price feed publishers & Hertz will be highly accurate. We could activate Hertz now technically.

Will this work alongside current documentation uplift efforts? https://t.me/joinchat/AWRo40N1sGr9SNGo_pv3KA

Or could there be overlap in work being done?

What about a worker proposal to implement some of the above proposed features onto BTS? It's not like there's opposition to the concepts.

We need to convince the witnesses to start publishing price feeds for this along with others such as bitOIL, bitEOS, bitStockmarket etc...  Liquidity will not arrive if there is no market to play in.
Are there price feeds for these market pegged assets? Without scripts they won't be able to do so.

The bitshares development and deployment process is pretty opaque to me--is someone already on incorporating the Stealth UI into the main codebase?  If not, who would need to do that?

Raise an issue on bitshares-ui github: https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-ui/issues

675
You've got my vote! Of the approx 10 Bitshares-UI issues I've raised, at least 7 of them have been solved within a few days and made available within the next UI release. Funding this worker proposal is highly worthwhile.

Keep up the great work @wmbutler! :)
