https://s3.amazonaws.com/limewalletdwn/limewallet-beta1-update1.apk (https://s3.amazonaws.com/limewalletdwn/limewallet-beta1-update1.apk)
Dear community,
It has been a long time wihtout updates from our side, basically because we were working as hard as we could to produce a usable mobile wallet.
So *beta1* of LimeWallet is here for you to test.
Despite the fact that there is a lot to be done, we think it is in a usable state.
Installation from binary:
Android:
(See above)
iOS: [instructions soon]
Installation from source:
Go to https://github.com/limewallet/limewallet (https://github.com/limewallet/limewallet) and follow the instructions there.
Features:
- Private keys on client side
- Full wallet recovery from a seed. (This include in/out memos)
- Deposit / Withdraw in Bitcoin
- Bitcoin payments
- Handling of Bitcoin urls (android intent)
- Password locking
- Local addressboook
- Send to name, pubkey or address with memo (all from client side)
- Paper wallet balance import
- Crypto operations using "standard" libraries (bitcoinj, CoreBitcoin)
- Android & iOS version
Liquidity BitAsset<=>BTC
Our backend is agregating the liquidity from:
- Yunbi
- Metaexchange (just BTA=>BTC)
- BTSBOTS
- BitShares Exchange (*1)
- btc38 (*2)
*1 Turned off until next week.
*2 Avilable, but not enough bank to be in every exchange at the moment.
We charge 0.3%, of the best price we find.
But we plan to go to 0% as we build partnerships with already established exchanges.
Bottom line is that we want to provide the best exchange rate that the market has for bitAssets<->BTC.
*IMPORTANT*
We are low on bank, and not every exchange allows us to auto-adjust our wallets (asking by API to do a withdraw) so balancing the wallets its a manual process.
If you want to stay in the safe side go for BTC<->USD , BTC<->CNY in amounts not greater that $25 until we have more liquidity.
The refund process will be addressed next week.
iOS Version:
iOS version is ready also and we are setting up everything in (the recently acquired by Apple) testflightapp.
Pablo will collect iOS devices serials numbers to produce an IPA.
Thanks for your patience!:
Please, help us test the wallet!. We need your feedback!! :
Note:
If anyone wants to recover funds from alpha1 or alpha2 wallet please PM me.
-
Cooleo .. I am on it ..
The wallet seems to only know about USD .. if I send any other asset I get an empty row in assets .. can't you pull the details from "get_asset" and post the symbol of an arbitrary asset?
-
Wow guys.
Wow.
This wallet is absolutely beautiful.
Installed and functions nicely on Verizon Samsung S4 (Android 5.0.1)
IMO, this is a Home Run.
Bravo
Question: Are you guys going to include BTS eventually, or just sticking to Assets?
*Krills/lzr9000 will be impressed.

looking nice
question:
i wanted to save a contact, but i don't want to tipp in the public key (needs to long) why is it not possible just to put the known names into it?

i wanted to save a contact, but i don't want to tipp in the public key (needs to long) why is it not possible just to put the known names into it?
^^^ also:
We should be able to add contacts directly from our send/received transaction lists (or at least from the view details screen).
It should probably be made more clear that this wallet holds bitBTC rather than BTC.
(I think this might frustrate or anger a user who is not familiar with the product)
Additionally, "balance on tap" should NOT round up from actual balance! Bad idea - rather, stretch out the decimals if need be.
My .02 BTS.
-
would be nice if i can easily change the shown currency aka asset on top, maybe with a fingerslide on top i can slide through my holdings!
at the moment i have to go to settings and change it, this is not conviened!
really nice work guys :D

Well done guys! It looks really nice and is super easy to use. One thing I noticed though, when copying the address to a coinbase wallet on Android, it copied two slashes before the address and that I had to delete them for it to send. Keep up the good work.

Just sent some USD with it - It actually works :)
Very nicely done.
For me it surely qualifies as a solid summer announcement.
Just wonder how the 2.0 launch is going to affect your back-end code?

Contacts
The Contacts feature was designed for those who dont want to register their name into the blockchain.
So, if i want to send to a "name" that is not registered in the blockchain i need to have it as a contact with his pubkey or address.
The use case was as following:
- User1 dont register his name in the blockchain.
- User1 => Send his contact information (QR code, mail, other) to User2 (name+pubkey).
- User2 add User1 as contact. (name+pubkey)
- User2 can now send to his "name" with memo.
But we need to rethink to also cope with the case that someone want just to have "favorites"/"recently used" names.
(just the names not the pubkey, because the active_key can change in time)
And those names should be presented first (scrollable) when the user clicks the destination field in the send window.
(In fact this is already coded, when you search in the autocomplete its searching into your local-contacts and in the global-directory [blockchain])
We will redesing that part, just need some more thinking to cope with all the use cases and to be very usable by default.

On the basis of the development of 2.0?
delulo
Wondered the same. How much work is necessary to make it work with 2.0?
2.0 support is planned and some work has been done in the dev backend to support it.
In fact it will simplify a lot of things that we are doing on our side, its just a matter of how much of owr own infrastructure we will keep and how much we will relay on the new 2.0 architecture.
Ej:
- Import only selected accounts into database => It seems there is a plugin system in the new 2.0 code that can help with that.
- Pay the network in BTS / Charge the user in BTA => 2.0 has also resolve this with the referal program.
- Memo recovery => We are using op_data inside each tx generated by the wallet to later recover the out memo, 2.0 also resolve that.
- etc, etc, etc.
I would like to have a working wallet with the 2.0 test-net as soon as we can becasue 2.0 is the future!
-
Awesome. I still have your original bitwallet on my iPhone, and been waiting for this. I'll be checking TestFlight every day.

Great job! LimeWallet passes the Humble Bundle test. Takes 5 seconds to spend BitUSD on any website that accepts Bitcoin. And I love how it hides the extra step of going through metaexchange.

Thanks for the update ... still: can you not use the same seed/privkey generation algirithm used in the web wallet? This wouls make user experience alpt better. If you wish i can search the code and point you to the relevant lines

No at the moment.
The wallet can show you the words that generate your seed (config->security->backup wallet)

The wallet structure we use is different from other wallets because of our specifics need.
The same problem happens with many bitcoin wallets, and in fact for Bitcoin is easier to standarize a common wallet format because of the simplicity of the overall architecture.
It will be helpfull to have a standard wallet format for easy interoperability of Bitshares wallets.
Just like Bitcoin have BIP32, BIP39, and BIP44.

Any ETA on playstore add?
It would be very good to become popular and attract new users
Its a tricky question.
On one side we want to have a period of beta while we test our backend live and adjust details/bugs etc.
On the other side since we don't know the exact release date of BTS 2.0 we are in kind of debating if we should publish the wallet supporting 0.9.X or wait for the final BTS 2.0 ..... gauging

Please make sure there are NO bugs before releasing it. Eager as I am, i want Bitshares 2.0 to just work.
Just my 2 cents

I would recommend releasing it now and then requiring an upgrade after 2.0. Incorporate a message that there will be a mandatory upgrade on the day the exchanges upgrade. You will have 30 days to test with de shares prior to the snapshot.

No need to code for Blackberry. All modern Blackberry phones (running bb10.2+) can run Android apps. If the Blackberry user is tech savvy, they can sideload .apk files. But as the app author, you can also submit the app to Amazon Appstore so any Blackberry 10.2+ phone user can easily install without having to sideload.

Hi ElMato, is this thread the best place to report bugs or do you have another preferred method. I am currently having issues when I try to deposit btc and I type in the amount. I get an error whether the amount is USD or btc. It seems to work when I look at the withdraw function though. Again awesome work on the wallet, really excited to show my friends.

Thanks for the report, a github issue is ok, but you can also report it here.
Im seeing that our main provider of BTC=>bitUSD (yunbi.com) is giving us timeout.
02:19:14 robby.1 | provider yunbi update error ... HTTP 599: Connection timed out after 20000 milliseconds
That renders the book unusable then we are unable to give you a quote.
(Note: we should alert the user better)
Im hitting them 1 time each 10s but 6 requests in parallel (5 books + balance), so maybe they dont like that frequency ... will talk to them tomorrow.
Withdraw is working because metaexchange is updating ok, and they are doing bitUSD=>BTC.
(In fact thats the only way we go with them because of the speed of BTS txs)
02:19:15 robby.1 | metaxchg update OK

Thanks for the update. I guess I must have missed the original github link in my excitement to try the app. I will definitely check that out.

No at the moment.
We need to take a closer look at the API to see how the "Instant Orders" works since it seems that even if there is no liquidity in the "exchange" it quotes buy/sell up to 100 BTC (for the BTC/USD pair).

We need to take a closer look at the API to see how the "Instant Orders" works since it seems that even if there is no liquidity in the "exchange" it quotes buy/sell up to 100 BTC (for the BTC/USD pair).
Ronny knows :)

My iOS wallet is having problems opening. Any updates planned in the nere future?
-
@konelectric we are working in the 2.0 support for the wallet.
We also are low on bank that's why we stopped the BTC<->BTA conversion. (More news soon)
I've sent you a PM to see how can I help you.

we are working in the 2.0 support for the wallet.
Will/does the Bitshares 2.0 LimeWallet have support for local trades with QR codes (sending and receiving funds) like mycelium?
-
@KenCode, we are aiming at having the same wallet functionality working with the 2.0 backend.
The localtrader/AirTM is in the blackboard as many other things, but this is first prio.

@ElMato - I must say, Limewallet is absolutely gorgeous. I haven't been able to try it yet, but are you saying that after the 13th it will have qr or no qr?
Thanx and keep up the great work!! :)
-
Ken, Qr code scanning is already there.
But localtrader/AirTM functionality requires a little more than just QR scanning.
At the very minimum you need to:
* A way to publish your offer/location/contact info.
* A search
* A rating system

Oh, sorry I just meant the qr code stuff for our point of sale system.
Like, if it scans your Limewallet qr code can i send smartcoins to you?
Thanx :)

Sure! That will be ready for the next update (bts2).
BTW: I don't know if the URI scheme changed for the BTS2 version, need to check that also.

1. ok, so i installed the beta1 update1 apk on my galaxy tab3, but was unable to "Register account globally" on the blockchain. It gave me a little popup error message saying "Unknown error has occured". So, I unchecked that "Register account globally" box and it let me open the wallet for the first time. Here is what it looks like on my tablet:

2. i drastically need to try out the QR feature, but can't see how.
thanx @ElMato :)

1) The UI looks broken in your tablet, can you give me your tablet's specs.
2) You can test again the registration.
a) Open slide menu.
b) Click on the account "logo".
c) Register your account.
3) To test the QR code.
a) In home screen tap "Receive"
b) Enter the amount / tap "Request payment"
-
Tomorrow 12 Oct / 23:00 GMT we will be stopping the API service.
You will be able to claim your balance in the account created with the beta1 in the updated version that we working on.
Anyway, If anyone wants to transfer their money out please do it before tomorrow 23:00GMT or you will need to wait until we release the newer version.

1) I think I have a 7 inch screen if that helps. Looks like you just need to add some responsive code in there, get the blue background triangles to tile, remove fixed widths and use percentages and set the dark blue color as a default until the background image tiles that way i can see the hidden white on white transparent you have at the top (like the qr code).
2) I did this, still no go. the next screen shows my account name on the line, and the yellow "Register account globally" box is checked. The "DONE" button at the bottom is disabled however. No way to submit my account name. I had a friend send me 1 bit€ as a test to the long public address and it worked, but no way to register the account name...
3) This is how I got the 1 bit€ sent to me as a test, but the account name is still unregistered.
Thanx @ElMato :)

Not sure why, but the friend who sent me the 1 bit€ actually shows in my Limewallet as "€ 1.0013 Received".
Weird.
Now, I wanted to empty my Limewallet before the next upgrade, so I went to the Send screen.
I typed in 1.00 to send, filled in a valid Recipient name, it allowed me to select the proper account from a list, I typed in a short textual memo and clicked on the Send button at the bottom. The button blinked, but does not do anything.
Weird.
I clicked the Send button at the bottom again, it blinked but did nothing (no error message either).
Weird.
So I figured I was trying to send too much. There is nothing telling me the max amount that I can send, with fees.
Weird.
I changed the 1.00 to 0.95 then clicked on the send button at the bottom again and bamm it gave me a popup confirmation, i accepted it and it then showed me the confirmation screen.
The funds showed up almost immediately in my linux client wallet. Very cool. :)
Now, back at the main Limewallet screen, it still says I have a € 1.00 balance, and the transaction I just sent does not show in the list below called "THIS MONTH".
Weird.
Just a few weird things, thought I should report them here too so you know what I am looking at. I LOVE this wallet and see great things here!! :)

The WebSocket notifier is down, so its not automatically refreshing.
You need to manually refresh (pulling down on the transaction list) or restarting the app.
Just a few weird things, thought I should report them here too so you know what I am looking at. I LOVE this wallet and see great things here!! :)
Thanks for reporting Ken, now we are full steam ahead to support the bts2 backend.

hey great .. what do you think should we not create its own partern subboard on btstalk partner .. would make sense to me .. wouldn't it ?
-
@cass, that will be great.
Can you do it?
-
Yeah, it would be nice @ElMato if you created your own master thread in the Projects section:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/board,90.0.html
Just call the thread subject: LimeWallet
Your first post in that thread could tell everyone:
Features List (a bulleted list of features)
Downloads (link to download)
Known Bugs (summarize the bugs that people have found in a prioritized, numbered list)
Bug Reports (a github link or something)

lol ... no as he did sell them long time before ...
-
Actually, lzr's checking in at #66 at the moment. He has some skin in the game.

Can anyone confirm whether lime wallet is still in the works or is this really a dead project?
-
That's no good if the project died. BitShares absolutely must have a decent iPhone app to help compete.
-
NOT DEAD... it's getting updated to 2.0 and that isn't a trival process ...

Dear community,
It has been a long time wihtout updates from our side, basically because we were working as hard as we could to produce a usable mobile wallet.
So *beta1* of LimeWallet is here for you to test.
Despite the fact that there is a lot to be done, we think it is in a usable state.
Installation from binary:
Android:
(See above)
iOS: [instructions soon]
Installation from source:
Go to https://github.com/limewallet/limewallet (https://github.com/limewallet/limewallet) and follow the instructions there.
Features:
- Private keys on client side
- Full wallet recovery from a seed. (This include in/out memos)
- Deposit / Withdraw in Bitcoin
- Bitcoin payments
- Handling of Bitcoin urls (android intent)
- Password locking
- Local addressboook
- Send to name, pubkey or address with memo (all from client side)
- Paper wallet balance import
- Crypto operations using "standard" libraries (bitcoinj, CoreBitcoin)
- Android & iOS version
Liquidity BitAsset<=>BTC
Our backend is agregating the liquidity from:
- Yunbi
- Metaexchange (just BTA=>BTC)
