I know delulu in person and he has constantly spammed me with bitshares since early 2014, I wasn't listening at the time. Finally in August 2014, I decided to take a closer look and was overwhelmed. I'm a long term BTS holder since that day and I don't regret anything :)
Please consider voting for my witness mindphlux.witness and my committee user mindphlux. I will not vote for changes that affect witness pay.

Please don't forget to add anyone to this who you feel has made you a long-term holder of bts!  we need help to recognize these people so anyone can join in and add people.  All I ask is that you try to remain on topic and focus on those who have made your stay in bts' ecosystem amazing :)

@data who is someone else you think should be acknowledged? I am sure your name will come up (cough cough, in the op :P) so there is no need to plug here. Trust me this is only "phase one" and you are already on the list :P
Also the creator and maintainer of bitsharesblog who was dooling out the witnesses of the months awards and who has had an eye on everything going on since day one:

mint chocolate chip (used to be bitsharesblog)
Appreciate it @DataSecurityNode

Productive people support..  +5%
Feels good to be acknowledged, because you dont get it nearly enough.  Most of you dont.  That is why we are doing this ;)

I think we're lucky to have so many talent people here. However, i think we need a slow and stable transition away from BM. We dont want to have any perceived upheaval and abandonment of the project. We need stability.

it is definitely something we should do slowly and I have no doubts bm will not be "leaving".

I love this thread!

The names mentioned here are quite valuable, thank you to everyone for your contribution.

Speaking for myself I like to see not only the names but also why people chose them. Not only does that give me more information about the person suggested which is important, it also provides insight about the person making the suggestion. I find it much more useful that the names by themselves.

If you don't know the person being suggested the name has limited value, even less if you don't know either poster and who they suggested. By providing reasons why you suggested them provides insight into both people and also helps newbies to this community.

Fuzzy, I'm sorry for not adhering to the format again!  ;D

Beginning to think that part is a losing battle.   :o

All these amazing people on our forums...are also amazingly stubborn :P

Might try to be more careful putting "rules" into these posts from now on and just have "suggestions". :/

luckybit, b/c he is a rational thinker who contributes much originality of thought to this community, who has shown quality in his assessment of various issues and helps to push the BitShares technology towards innovation by exploring issues at a deeper level.
Definitely luckybit - for offering a great insight regarding various technologies.
And bitmarket (Max Wright) - for great insight regarding sales perspective.

I thought long and hard before posting. Fuzzy's desire to strengthen this community and to acknowledge the many people who have committed their time, capital and brain power is deeply inspiring.  There are so many contributing their skills and effort that any startup company or community would be filled to the brim with excitement for the future given the levels of commitment, technical competency, morality and creativity that is displayed by literally hundreds of people. We come from all over the planet and have chosen for a myriad of reasons to throw in with each other to build something that may well change the outlook for the human race forever. This was never going to be easy. We have diverse cultures, backgrounds and philosophies but we are united in our respect for the bitcoin protocol with all its potential and the idea that the world can be a better place for everyone.

I have enormous respect for everyone who has worked so hard to get us this far. Their passion and drive, productivity, willingness to support, to test the tech, to debate, to test new ideas, to reach out to the rest of the world is mind-blowing. We are never going to agree on everything and yet somehow the spectrum of opinion, gradually sometimes, rapidly at others, moves us inexorably closer to our goals. It honestly chokes me up to feel connected to so many from all corners of the world and to think how much we have in common. I just don't know how Bitshares could possibly fail.

Fuzzy, I'm sorry for not adhering to the format again!  ;D

Wasn't a plug so much as a validation.. we are just naming off people, many of whom may have no desire whatsoever to be a committee member.. so I think its important for those that might consider it to make it known, otherwise we are just creating a phantom list.

So.. a lot of the community has already been mentioned here, but I think someone who might be interested in the markets aspect of bitshares:

Ander

Also the creator and maintainer of bitsharesblog who was dooling out the witnesses of the months awards and who has had an eye on everything going on since day one:

mint chocolate chip (used to be bitsharesblog)

Then there is the obvious choice that is exactly whom bytemaster was referring to today.. businesses that have an active interest in bitshares:

ccedk

I will be joining these ranks quite soon as well as mentioned.

There are others I would consider as well, however, many of them are already witnesses, and among them there is a general sentiment that there should not be witnesses as committee members because of conflict of interest. However, puppy has put in for his membership and stated clearly he will abstain from voting on matters related to witness pay.. which I think sets a fine precedent for witnesses to be there also. There is only the added liability they bring upon themselves of course. If I were to include them as well a few more that come to mind are:

wachou
xendal
bitcube

That's about it off the top of my head.. as I said, if they don't plan on it, then the list might just be an aggravation to some. I also caution us taking up similar approaches to our sharocracy as we have seen happen in current political systems today. eg. the notion of nomination.. parties.. campaigning. We have an opportunity to rediscover new ways to manage  and lead this global endevour.

Another name that sprung to mind - Ben Mason

He is worthy of consideration not only for his solid perspective of the mission and core principles BitShares is based on, but also b/c he is cool, rational and very respectful in his interactions here in the forum.

+5% agreed. Ben has changed my perspective on an issue numerous times, even when I'm not commenting and just reading from afar.

Really every name on this list so far has made invaluable contributions to BitShares and the community - I even feel that way about Ken, who I didn't take seriously at first but who has demonstrated impressive sweat equity - coordinating translations, offering bounties, pitching the product etc - kudos to all of you.

Ok.  Well since i think this is EXTREMELY important, im going to go ahead and name a few others:

-Clayop (i see many posts here from him trying to bring productive discussion to the table--he may not always agree, but he always tries to keep discussion productive and non-personal.  Really a beautiful thing...)
-riverhead (great choice thom, i almost forgot that the project he is working on is potentially very valuable to bts even though it mind of straddles two platforms...@riverhead, you have done SO MUCH for me personally, and never told me you wanted payment. And i know im not alone as a benefactor or your hard work)
-solomonsollarsnsense (a true badass film director, cutter, editor...etc.  he has done a great deal of work for our community and did so out of the goodness of his own heart.)

More to come later.

I appreciate everyone keeping this thread bumped but sincerely hope people will do what the op asks.

I do not say this to be disrespectful...but to ask that others respect why this was posted.  To acknowledge others who are considered foundations of bitshares' value.

If we cannot do something simple like stay on task for the thread, we are going to have bigger problems...

@data who is someone else you think should be acknowledged? I am sure your name will come up (cough cough, in the op :P) so there is no need to plug here. Trust me this is only "phase one" and you are already on the list :P

@thom some of the people you listed are individuals i already have on my thread, but this is still ok because you are giving information I (and the rest of the community) might not have.

I just wanted to state that I do plan to run for committee member, however it will be under a new user account. Totally transparent and what not, just being done that way for legal purposes. It will become apparent why soon enough.

So I just wanted to make that known at this stage.  Once I have registered the new account name and submitted to be a committee member I will make it public. In a more formal manner of course.

luckybit, b/c he is a rational thinker who contributes much originality of thought to this community, who has shown quality in his assessment of various issues and helps to push the BitShares technology towards innovation by exploring issues at a deeper level.

Arhag is another member of this community that comes from the same mold (not the fuzzy stuff, no offense to @fuzzy or penicillin)

Another name I believe is worthy of consideration, primarily on the basis of:

1) Drive, ambition, ability to get things done
2) Dedicated to the growth of BitShares and it's mission

Kencode - perhaps controversial, but I feel a name that shouldn't be overlooked.

Who in community has:

1 - high level of knowledge about economics (trading, liquidity, knowledge of free market principles etc)
2 - a solid understanding of BitShares' mission and foundational principles
3 - can work well with others (i.e. community oriented, empathetic, open minded)
4 - demonstrated real world accomplishments, drive, ambition, self confidence

These are just a few of the criteria you might consider as you think about your nominations.

Community Cornerstones -- and possibly Committee Members... :)

The people who come to mind for me off the top of my head:

Cass - Tireless efforts and super dope designs since forever!
Xeroc - Seemingly infinite efforts, amazingly versatile.
Roadscape - I personally know how much time and effort he puts into BTS, from so many different angles, this guy is a champ.
Cryptoprometheus - Always synthesizing the latest information, philosophizing on the potential implications.
Stan - There is no try, only do! ;)

And ALL DEVS!  for obvious reasons.
Speaking of the devs and Stan, sorry, I disagree. Not b/c they are not capable, but rather b/c that is not what they want. They have said repeatedly they DO NOT want a leadership role n governance.  +5% on the others!

Surprised Riverhead's name hasn't come up yet-

> He has a extremely competent and helpful technically.
> He has invested his own funds to improve market liquidity
> He has coded bots to help market liquidity
> He recently attended the Cyrpto Summit with Stan & Xeroc
> He is sold out to BitShares mission.

Need I say more? I THINK NOT. Riverhead would be an excellent committee member!

Anyway, time to take a little beauty rest...see you all at the hangout :)

fuzz,

I did not like brownie version 1.0  - aka LTB coin

And I really hate, brownie version 2.0  -  aka BM's ass kissing points, as you might know by now.

and anything coming close[lists of great people or otherwise] to version 3.0 is making my skin ...itchy, you know.

Also talks A LOT on some show..."the beyond something..."

I definitely don't make anything from what I'm doing though if that is what you are getting at.  I'm actually in the red by quite a bit for doing what I do.  I do miss the days when you actually thought I did something valuable.  I remember once you telling me so :(

P.S.  Did you know that every time I send brownies, I pay the fee? Did you know that I also work a fulltime job and get very little sleep?  Sometimes it is best to not assume bad things about people when you don't know facts.  It hurts people and your connection with others.

P.P.S.  Is there someone in bitshares you DO value?  Might be a good way to start this?

wow
how did you get to something bad from my post?

I do know you work 2 jobs (at least)...and I do know you come to the Friday show after a night shift. I do know about the kid as well, and I do know what it takes in first 2-3 years, being a parent myself.

Is there someone in bitshares you DO value?

Why do think I do not? - you not valuing me, is not reflective you know.

On that note...where is arhag?

I will begin (though this will not be an exhaustive list by any stretch of the imagination--which is why I need YOU to join me in helping list them):

-Xeroc (large amounts of documentation, helping newbies and overall just ridiculous amounts of work for very little in return)
-Jabbajabba (helps run and control the beyond bitcoin site)
-Tuckfheman (helps run and promote the beyond bitcoin hangouts--in a different way than jabba)
-Emailtooaj (edits hangouts, makes bitshares flyers, graphics, and various other things)
-Testz (posts all our community's hangouts to Youtube and Youku.  Still posting to soundcloud raw hangouts?)
-GChicken (coding work for beyond bitcoin to help automate the long process of distributing tokens to hangout attendees)
-BitScape (Busts his butt and spends personal funds to help bring the story of bitshares to the world
-Roadscape (Busts his butt in the backend work for bitshares and cryptofresh and helps pay personal funds to help bring the story of bitshares to the world)
-Cryptoprometheus (works hard behind the scenes to help create a platform that will help our community accomplish various tasks that are not easily accomplished using outdated forums)
-DSN (working hard in a bunker built to withstand armageddon and bring bitshares back to the world after the fallout has passed :P)
-Monsterer (works hard to build and maintain our community's shapeshift competitor---MetaExchange)
-Shentist (works hard to build and maintain our community's shapeshift competitor---MetaExchange)
-Alt (builds tools to help delegates--and witnesses?)
-Spartako (builds tools to help witnesses)
-CLains/And Big Bro (constructing bitshares educational material and organizing recorded meetups where this information is disbursed)
-Thom (works on many tasks that the community needs accomplished, from debugging code to running witness nodes)
-Kencode (works on BitShares POS and many other things (bitshares expo sometime in 2016?)...last I checked this dude literally had less than 20k bts and the amount of work he is doing is ridiculous)
-fav (forum admin)
-cube (helps many people with technical issues)

**this thread is open until otherwise stated.  it may close at any time, so please participate now because waiting might keep you from acknowledging those who deserve your recognition!**

I am trying to compile a list of individuals who the bitshares community believes to be the most loyal, trustworthy and helpful members.  If you could please help me by listing individuals who you would like to personally thank for displaying these characteristics, I would be extremely grateful.

Try to keep in mind that im searching for people who you consider extremely valuable to bitshares.  Who you believe, if for some reason they left, would take a chunk of bitshares value with them.

Just a few caveats however:
1) list any projects they work on for the community(if possible)
2) one post will do it--please dont post multiple posts with 3 different people every time.  Nvm this one--post as many as you feel are necessary.  If it becomes ridiculous, I'll let you know.
3) there is no minimum number of people you can list...you may even list only one.
4) if someone else has listed one of yours already, please feel free to list them again...or add someone different who is not on the list.
5) please omit me from this list.  It might make me smile, but i dont need credit...only to rule the world with an iron fist (and ask you a seemingly endless slew of questions)!

P.S.  as we begin looking to form a committee, it is important we start looking to ourselves to help establish the individuals we think are great candidates.  Some of the most valuable people in BitShares will never ever speak up about their contributions.  Those people are the ones for whom we must advocate most...and I'm willing to bet we all know at least one person we feel meets this criteria.

P.P.S.  This MIGHT end up being a "browniable" event...
