Now would be a good time to switch to another pool. We're very vulnerable to this kind of attack if MMCPool has too dominant a share of the market.
Other pools are offering good reliability and a lower rate.

hmm, its working fine on my linux machines, but I tried it on windows and get the same connection error as you..

my machine is linux.. i think they have somekind of maximum connections to that pool...?

So looks like the DDOS stopped blocks for 1 hour. Did the attack just stop, or were measures added to combat it?
Any thoughts on preventing a re-occurance?

Are any of you familiar with setting up a VPN layer on your server. I have done this before with sensitive websites and it could help in this circumstance. Essentially you have a dummy server which everyone connects to which is connected via a special sort of VPN to your real server. This means its a lot harder to flood the system with requests and when configured properly, on the dummy server you set up countless bash scripts that handle IP tables blocking any IPs with large numbers of requests, although that part will not help if this is DDOS
