markets like OPEN.ETH:OPEN.BTC are simple ...  was mtgox offers years ago. They depend on trust to some third-party. Bots should be on trades like bitBTC:bitCNY. There is only way to make a truly decentralize trustless exchange. What you are doing is making bitshares even more confusing for newbies.
The UIA offerings on the DEX are not the same as mtgox markets. At the very least, there's a fundamental difference in a system where the "supply" of the UIA is a publicly available number that can't be obscured. Another important difference is that "anyone" can create a UIA and markets are automatically available between that UIA and all other assets in the system. I understand your desire for a trustless asset, but please don't let that blind you to the vast differences between what we have  in BitShares and a traditional centralized exchange.

If we all work harder to reject our biases, whatever their origin, request a higher quality of information before making decisions, engage with each other respectfully and with courtesy, perhaps we can achieve a cultural tendency that supports a reduction of the impact of irrational beliefs and further mitigate their disruptive effects.

I think we have been working towards that goal all this time.

We are learning, about each other, about how to co-operate efficiently, about this technology and what it means. We are continually improving the quality of information available and therefore the potential quality of each discussion leading hopefully to an increasing tendency for more of us to agree, more rapidly, more of the time on the most appropriate course.

Lil_jay890 is quite right in pointing out the reality of working with different opinions. The passion and dynamism generated by discussion are nothing to fear as long as we have the bedrock of a corruption resistant network to stabilise us while we work things out. It is in all our interests to improve the quality of information which frames our opinions, to challenge each other, to solve problems through innovation.

I would much rather we allocate inflation by reaching consensus each time. We have the opportunity to adapt, change our minds if the value or cost/benefit  proposition changes.  Thanks for the blog BM.  It is important to continually challenge the semantics of blockchain features like currency to ensure more accurate analysis.

I'd like to be able to buy anything with bitGold or bitSilver  ;D

In the short to medium term though, i'm hoping to enable the ability to buy vaping products (hoping to integrate BitShares into vapeemporium.com) and BitShares merchandise like branded clothing (I'm trying to work something out with my brother who lives in Indonesia.)
