General Discussion / Re: Ethereum Launch Process
« on: June 01, 2015, 04:46:31 pm »
Well he did some valid lamentation:

Quote
DPOS technically has only the weaker altruism-prime level of formal cryptoeconomic security, since attackers can bribe rational actors to vote for them. It essentially relies on either (i) people enjoying civic activism as a hobby, or (ii) wealth concentration, as a security assumption, and the latter is hard to guess in the long term and the former is hard to model :)

Thanks for addressing my concerns Bytemaster.
I am looking forward into future than.

Poloniex seems to be provider of good liquidity.
I think some of the pumps are initiated in fact on polo not on btc38.com

Ok

Current price rise seems like proper pump and dump backed with proper hype.
I am little bit worried you will rool out 10% of promised stuff and than we are back on the death slide.

Please commnet on that issue for me.

Thanks a lot.

I would be surprised if it got below 7k myself.

color me surprised. perhaps, as we approach the maidsafe release, this is the same phenomenon we experienced leading up to bitshares 1.0.

hmm, is there any ETA for maidsafe release?

I do not think we will see BTS under 2000 ever again.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: 100% - Delegate for Chronos
« on: May 25, 2015, 04:31:22 pm »
Chronos is joining our team has a developer working on the user interface in the wallet.   We would like to set up a 100% delegate on his behalf.  I am looking for someone who can run his delegate for 5% and then pay him 95% every 2 weeks.

I would like to get this delegate set up and voted in as soon as possible.  Any volunteers for running this delegate?

I already run testz and valzav.payroll.testz delegates, if no other volunteers takes this deal, I can run Chronos delegate until DPOS 2.0 will be launched.

DPOS 2.0?

what is this a kindergarten?

No risk no gain...

Hi,

This looks interesting.
However I understand a shit what its all about.
You can mine BTS?

Sorry, noob here...
Can somebody please explain to me in 5 sentences what is this project about?
Thanks a lot

- You cannot mine bitshares directly
- You can mine alt coins at this pool which are sold for BitShares/bitUSD on the market
- Mining @ minebitshares.com is subsidized by the blockchain in form of delegate pay being ridirected to topup the mining payouts ..
- with more delegates being supported by the shareholders .. the miners will see a huge incentive to mine @ bitshares
- the dilution caused by this should be easily absorbed by the incoming users .. and if not .. shareholders are free to vote these delegates out again ..

Well said Xeroc! .. an in 5 sentences as requested!

Xeroc answered your question well. The project takes all altcoins and BTC and funnels it into BitShares. This increases usership, transactions, volume, and thus market cap.

With the power of bitAssets we have a disruptive technology opportunity. We just need to move to the next level with what we have already built.

Operating as a zero fees network with bonuses doesn't leave much for us to advance though with the current market cap. Thus our bid for additional delegates.

A vote for these delegates means a vote for increasing the value of BTS put simply.

Indeed.
Thank you for answers.
So it is a multipool selling all for BTS. Clear now.

Yes!

Check Poloniex

General Discussion / Re: Why is insurance in necro section?
« on: May 24, 2015, 02:42:50 pm »
The thing is, I'm not sure if we're able to fully decentralize Insurance. In my idea we will have an Insurance Dac with 3rd party centralized services running on top.

Well you still need the real people who will explore if the insurance claim is not fake.
Somebody must pay those.
You need to be in every state/city.
Super challenging.

It's only implemented in PTS 2.0, it lets you import a wallet by using a signed message.

Thank you SVK.  How hard would it be to port it to the other chains?

You'd have to reimplement it from scratch if you want it in a BTC clone. BTC handles transactions in a completely different way than BTS.

But the basic idea is portable of course, and it would be my recommended way of handling this.
Would you or another developer consider porting this functionality to gridcoin to allow for the sharedrop to occur, in return for a developer bounty in bts/bitasset/gridcoin?

What would be considered a reasonable bounty for such a task?

On a side note, if this was successfully ported and heavily documented, it'd allow for any bitcoin based cryptocurrency to work towards executing a sharedrop on the bitshares community themselves - could be the start of a trend ;D

Rob? Is that you?

I am speechless. So many work for being a delegate. This system (dpos) is amazing.
I will vote for you as soon as my wallet download the chain.

I belive insurance over blockchain is one of the most challenging tasks in crypto.
Actually insurance is well oiled money machine for all central banks slaves called insurance companies.
We need to finish off those parasites.
