Title: Scamming using bitcointalk nicknames
Post by: maxsolnc_bitcointalk on November 07, 2013, 05:02:37 pm
Hi all,

I'm newbie here, but I'm also full member of bitcointalk.org with clean rep - trades, giveaways, bugs reporting, etc. Someone registered on this forum with my nickname maxsolnc and scammed people with PTS buying. He just told: "I'm maxsolnc, you can see my nickname on bitcointalk, my rep is clean, please trade with me". User Bitkib can confirm that - he PMed me on bitcointalk with request of moneyback, and I realized that someone used my nickname just to gain trust here.

Unfortunately, it seems also I have been scammed with xorxor.
I sent him 200 PTS and he disappeared.
Damn you, xorxor!

I highly recommend you use ESCROW through a trusted member of this forum.

I am available for safe escrow transactions (PTS is sent to me for holding, BTC is sent directly, PTS is released once BTC is confirmed)

I certify words maxsolnc_bitcointalk
Yesterday someone registered on this forum with the nickname maxsolnc PMed me and offered to buy from me 90 PTS for 0,007  each. I said him to transfer BTC on my wallet first, but he referred to his good reputation in the forum bitcointalk and said that he is registered there under the same nickname. I transferred him 45 PTS, then he disappeared. I wrote to maxsolnc on the bitkointalk forum, but he said it was not him.
Be careful, beware of scammers!

Hi,

thank you for the warning.
These damn identity thieve's and scammer's!!!

Escrow and being very careful and suspicious is really a good friend in these forum trades.

I would offer myself also for escrow, but so far the only thing i have to show for trust is that i believe in karma :D

Be safe!
cheers

If every forum supported Keyhotee ID this wouldn't be a problem ;)

guys ive never had a problem trading, if you break your trade down into small chunks, takes time, but least you can only lose say 15% of your total trade, ive never sold any coins in one go
