-5%.  Not called "bitshares music". Wrong icon (pt is not the music chain). Total supply is wrong. Website is wrong.

Whose idea was this?

And who can be contacted to get it fixed?

solid insights mdw. I think you're absolutely right;  no need to waste time and resources at this point over-architecting the product over potential non-issues. even if domain-squatting does become a problem it can probably be dealt with down the road.

build the mvp leveraging our existing strengths and improve it as we go along. just my .02 bts

General Discussion / Re: BitShares 0.9.0 Feedback
« on: May 01, 2015, 07:57:51 pm »
i tried to install 0.90 and it gives me this warning (osx client):

Warning: BitShares has detected the Adobe Application Manager plug-in is installed on this computer at /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobeAAMDetect.plugin. This plug-in crashes when loaded into BitShares. Please remove this plug-in and restart BitShares.

However when i look into that directory, the mentioned plugin isn't there.

I am not able to enter the program because of this.

crossposting for visibility: I ran into the same issue a few months ago, iirc running http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html fixed it for me.

General Discussion / Re: Gaining Financial Exposure to Bitshares

Thanks for the replies.  I didn't even think of blocktrades originally.

Does anyone have any comments on what exchange would be the least costly to aquire bitcoins via credit card for a US citizen?

Coinbase or Circle will be your best bet getting BTC through a credit card in the states. Circle is usually slightly cheaper by a thin margin.

That said, I would almost always advise against using a CC if you can use your bank account instead. Both Circle and Coinbase add about ~3% to the cost in CC processing fees, in addition to a flat fee from the card issuer ($10 per transaction on the card I use)

There is some kind of reset in my votes, "my votes" tab list is empty and every approval icon I had clicked/checked in the past to vote is empty too.

Same behavior also happening on my end.

It's sad that our Bitshares economist did not mention at all Bitshares  :( .. I miss the good old days and the nice videos between BM and dr. Evans

Charles Evans is no longer involved with bitshares

You're the BitShares public relation manager?? Is there a delegate to vote for?

Ugh, again with the BTC38 FUD. So damn tired of them having so much control over the price. Why the hell dont we have volume anywhere else?? I just dont get how we can have such an awesome decentralized system wrapped in the hands of a single centralized exchange...makes no sense.

Yup, truly a shame. When shit hit the fan with BTER I was hoping Yunbi would pick up the slack but.... nope.

General Discussion / Re: Moonstone Fundraiser Help Thread
« on: April 09, 2015, 06:50:20 pm »
I generated/downloaded the wallet.json file and donated. Where can I see my MOONFUND balance?

To clarify: I tried importing the JSON file into my BitShares wallet and the application warned me that importing the moonstone .json wallet would overwrite my current wallet so I did not proceed. Any tips?

Go your account, keys tab, and choose second tab where bitcoin wallet files can be imported. Choose .json format and import your Moonstone wallet.

Thank you, I'll give this a shot when I get home!

The tokens are send to your newly generated wallet directly.

I wonder most people will already have a BitShares wallet and might then prefer to use that with https://metaexchange.info/markets/MOONFUND/BTC
That just worked well for me and MOONFUND received but I notice though that the total $ on https://moonstone.io/ hasn't updated.

"The total number and percentage bar are updated on a 15-30 minute basis as we count only verified bitcoin transactions and cloudflare takes about 15 minutes to update on all continents. This is normal and expected." from second post in this thread.

Any updates or data to present on this project?
