General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion

You can margin call with your own BTS, this is what I did just now.

For example, make a 100 000 BTS deposit and you can margin call (long in my case). Just be very careful to have a large marge (Est. Liquidation Price 175 in my case).

This is the way I found to buy BTS with no money. If you do it cleverly (say buy 10 000 BTS for a deposit of 100 000 BTS), it should be ok. If every BTS holder do it margin dumpers are dead.

This is exactly what everyone of us including BM should have been doing..The level of comfort depends to each of us..Since I didn't have much BTS and I wanted to support the price, I got margin long with my bts as collateral but unfortunately not having a lot of comfort I played a very risky game and lost big time..Someone with millions BTS may support the price by creating walls and have a lot of comfort not to get margin called since he would use for 1 mil BTS to buy 300k BTS and not 2.5 mil BTS..
We all want to trade eventually in our platform but until this is ready we could have supported the price in Polo, BTS become expensive, people want to learn what is BTS and gradually we move on from Polo to our DEX..

Instead of that even people preaching about BTS in here all the time, when they show the dumping started to dump as well and once the dumping starts it never ends..Even at this level and with BTC retracing there is no buy support in Polo..Hence in the future we will end up with a great product, "worthless" BTS and desperate hodlers who for the last two years have supported the project losing their money..

Anyway...

Can BM address the issue we experienced with this massive dump of BTS and where do we see BTS price in the future? One must have a dream and a target in life. So what is his target and dream about BTS price and the DEX as a product?

Will he be happy if BTS market cap is $8 mil but we do have a great product that more people can use?

We may end up with a great product but BTS not to be worth much..What are his plans to address those issues? BTS market cap is purely a reflection of future speculative view of how much bit assets will be created and how many people will use it in the future. How do we increase the speculative value of BTS so hodlers do not suffer?

General Discussion / Re: Best Exchange Website

Clean, simple and professional like bitstamp and the same time having a trader option for advanced graphs and indicators. Integrate margin trading like Polo which is very simple and easy to use. Integrate  some binary options as well and you will have created the best exchange!
Metatrader is very popular for professional traders. The interface should be simple as hell like bitstamp but should have an option to trade with metatrader if one chooses to.

General Discussion / Re: Damage control advice needed

Before you take my advice, consider that I have lost 80% of my bts in Polo margin long trading so apparently I am not the best person to advise you here..

How are you coping? I lost all there (my own fault) and I am unable to think straight. All I was thinking today was that if could have at least held onto 1 BTC instead of putting it in collateral I could have bought almost 200 000 BTS today which would have been something.

Bought millions with tens of BTCs earlier and now looking around and seeing not a single BTC left.

Well I don't really cope very well with this. I was ready to start massively promoting bts and now i can't see any reason why...On the other side I never had tens of BTCs and millions of BTS so I guess other people must feel more pain than me..The worst is the feeling that all these hopes and plans for the future look like they have gone to dust now and I am thinking that all this time I spent in this forum over the last 2 years for what??Nothing..So I am just sad..

my personal advice if i had any btc left would be to buy as many bts you can and short sell the bitusd by having a comfortable ratio of collateral..bts may drop in btc terms until the btc pump is over but i doubt that bts will  fall below $0.003(or $335-380 depending how you see things)

Before you take my advice, consider that I have lost 80% of my bts in Polo margin long trading so apparently I am not the best person to advise you here..

I think that the reason is that the Chinese are pumping bitcoin..Once the pump is over hopefully they might come back and invest in some bitassets and bts..However the bigger problem is that when the btc pump ends bts may not be ready yet...

General Discussion / Re: If you are a Brownie holder
« on: November 04, 2015, 01:33:19 pm »
why do you guys think that Brownie points is the problem of bts? This is insane..Do you think anyone has sold a significant % of his holdings for Brownies? I seriously doubt..Brownies and BTS goes line in line in price..
Selling some BTS for Brownies is not the reason BTS is falling..Whales short selling BTS in Polo and luck of liquidity and non existent buy support and a non user friendly DEX GUI is the reason BTS is falling and not Brownies..

The reason why this really sucks is because bitcoin is rising so strongly... It makes us feel like idiots because we tried to be the smartest guys in the room and pick an alternative currency because we thought we had an inside track.

When I told my friends and family that I was investing in bitcoin, they thought I was an idiot destined to lose all my money.  I didn't tell them I invested in bitshares, since they don't know the difference.  All they know is it is some digital money.

Now they see bitcoin rising like an absolute monster while getting tons of media attention.  They go to me "Wow! you invest in the bitcoins right?  You must be doing awesome! Tell me more about these things!"

Little do they know that I actually bought into some other thing not bitcoin...  A thing similar but not the same that has lost tremendous value since I bought it.  So here we are.  We were right on the story that crypto would become immensely valuable, but somehow we managed to go broke in the process...That is the ultimate kick in the nuts!

lol..I face exactly the same situation.. but i mean exactly..people think i am suddnly rich and in reality i am broke..lol..

This is the price we pay not only for high fees but also for hypes from the Devs for a release that still has bugs, is not user friendly, we have to re-imagine everything if we want to trade with leverage in the new system, rules to trade and how you get margin called are not explained properly and keep changing, no marketing, nanocards and other services promised months ago, not a single whale is supporting bitshares and the small people with few funds just lost everything..
I think re instating the confidence in bts will take another couple of years..It is so depressing.. I am just sad...

kudos to anyone with the balls to buy this blood bath

seriously??
Kudos to those that were holding and buying since the initial pumps of c$80 mil and still haven't sold even if they lost most of them in margin trading long, or any other way they try to support bts..
If I had sold when I should have done looooong time ago and had any money left I would be buying like crazy now..Those buying in this blood now have no kudos..just common sense...

Fuck...
I know it is a strange request but:

Is there a light wallet version (for win) that has both:

-adjust collateral window that is small enough to fit a normal screen

- does not hide called short

?

hahahahaha :)

I just lost all my bts because I was margin long in polo.. :'(
That is the pain you feel when you support blindly something I suppose instead of day trading like most people..
The luck of support at these levels is just so disappointing..

Technical Support / Cannot trade in OL
« on: November 01, 2015, 09:48:42 pm »
I was wondering if anyone has the same issue or have a solution.

I can transfer funds but I cannot trade. If I press buy or sell nothing happens. I am on windows. Hitting refresh doesn't work.
