KeyID / Lets keep it alive!!!
« on: October 27, 2014, 02:13:38 am »
Lets give KeyID a chance to survive and thrive post BitShares merger!

bitcoinerS team is planning to take over maintenance and support for KeyID blockchain post merger. We want to keep it alive and progressing.
Toast has offered limited support for our effort.

All of you who want to join in this effort and cooperate/collaborate please PM (bitcoinerS) or contact by Skype (bitcoinerS).

We are setting up a new KeyID testnet to prepare for transition. It should be up early next week.

Why should KeyID blockchain be turned off? Lets keep it on.

Why we need additional chain if all KeyID functionality will be integrated into BTS?

Maybe you don't need it, but why kill a live and trading network? It may have a future of its own. Anyway I am going to give it a chance to live.

 seed, maybe ~

PM me your ip if you want to run a seed node.

Will you build windows client next week too?  :-\

Is there a windows client build already available? I can maintain what is already developed.

I'm turning it off, but I will support anyone who wants to turn it back on, develop, and maintain it. I will not be able to spend much time on it at all.  =(

The minimum requirement is that you are able to turn it back on =)

I am interested in taking it over. Can't promise much in terms of development at this point, but can turn it back on and maintain.

Ok great! As a first basic maintenance task example, can you build v0.0.5 for Windows?
I also think delegate pay might have been computed wrong before 0.0.5 (saw that total supply was decreasing right before fork), can you investigate to make sure the new logic is sound?

Ok. Will look into it next week.

Thank you for recording the meeting.

Whoever is organizing these sessions please do something about the constants chiming noises throughout every mumble session! It is very annoying and distracting!

How to upgrade a docker run node?

General Discussion / Re: Live SnapShot Calculator
« on: October 24, 2014, 02:57:15 am »
It is something between 4 and 4.1, sorry I don't have the exact number.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

It makes a difference of 2.5% in value between 4 and 4.1. Exact number would be welcome.

Is effective supply applied to DNS BTS conversion 4 bill or 4.1? I thought it was supposed to be 4.1.

General Discussion / Bitreserve: NON-Autonomous BitAsset provider
« on: October 23, 2014, 12:16:14 am »
Interesting article at WSJ about a new project called bitreserve which aims to provide something very similar to what Bitshares does with BitAssets (price stability), only these are off-chain "BitAssets" and therefore not without counter-party risk.

How would this work?  won't most of this then just go to the exchange addresses?  How will it make its way to individual users?

It doesn't help those with balances on the exchange at the snapshot date... cannot help everyone though I try.

If exchanges don't distribute compensation funds to users with DNS (like me), then they pocket our money.

PTS should be given no lockout period to be fair.
