Don't worry, nobody's paying any attention to you until you overtake Litecoin in the Coinmarketcap. You can't be held liable at this stage in the game. Only when you have millionaire investors involved will you get any real mainstream exposure.
Look, Blockchain technology as a whole has like no exposure to the mainstream at all.
So, yeah, get your facts straight, but no, the spotlight is not on you to perform yet. You won't beat Litecoin until you launch 2.0
so don't sweat the small stuff. Just get your existing code tight, and lets test it quick, and get it out there. This stuff, is just fluff right now.
Really good, short video that covers the referral program, I understand it now. It's pretty simple, but powerful.
But this guy's point is good too, namely that we JUST NEED TO GET 2.0 OUT THERE! And for that we're waiting on cryptonomex (is there a reference to Mexico in there? Jeff, you listening?)
If there's anything we need to be doing as a community to prepare the way, I'd like to see us focus on that as a parallel effort to the devs work. I'm not talking so much about marketing. Although that is very important, People like Max are on it as I'm sure others are.
As my skillset is more on the technical side my focus is less on marketing and more on the infrastructure and policy areas. So if there are issues and details that need to be discussed and resolved that stand in the way of reaching consensus on fee levels, delegate campaigns, naming conventions / costs etc. Lets get as much of that done in advance of the devs being ready to roll out a new code base.
Can current delegates help by setting up servers for the 2.0 BitShares, for example for testing? Is it feasible to add a 2.0 block producing node on the same VPSs as production 0.9.2 nodes? Can you give us any info on the overhead the 2.0 client would have with light loads?
Perhaps that is premature, I just want to see 2.0 deployed ASP, and there is a minimum of 30 days adv. notice AFTER the everyone believes the code is ready, so I'm just saying lets shorten the pipeline as much as possible by getting any preliminaries out of the way.
BTW, will there actually be a version 1.0, or will it skip and go directly to 2.0 after the snapshot is taken? Assuming no bug fix releases on the 0.9.x code base, will 2.0 be next? 2.0 RC1 ... RCn?
