BitShares PTS / Re: [ANN] ptsweb.beeeeer.org - Protoshares mining sub-pool
« on: December 11, 2013, 02:49:32 pm »
Anyone using AMD Opteron (6164HE) ?
What are the best setting you found ?
Any advice on AMD processor ?

About the RAM, does the clockrate make a difference for you ?

Thanks

EDIT :
More ram is better only if the ram is fast enough.

Hi,

Is the hash rate still bugged ?
I don't undestand. It is going faster when I use 1 thread than 48. Explain me please.
Should I use 48 instance of 1 thread instead of 1 instance of 48 thread ?

Thanks

Do you know what it means in the control panel when it says '[MASTER] work received - share target' ?
It mean that the pool is sending you correctly the work to do.

In some case, when you leave Putty (or equivalent), it stop the active session. To solve this you can use tmux like this :

sudo apt-get install tmux

tmux

cd ~/ptsminer/src

./ptsminer Ppfk7DMY7wCpFfLUnSVijGwruPq3Y3WJF9 1 26 sse4

(replace with your settings)

press Ctrl-b then d to close session

tmux attach -t 0 to resume session (0 is the number)

At the moment 24.4 c/m and 1.3 s/m - is that good, bad or indifferent?

Thx for sharing datas, what droplet type are you using ?

Thx for your response.
At the moment I don't even appear to be able to type anything into the black screen - get as far as user name then I can't even type in my password.  Checked on the digital ocean help and apparently i have to download an SSH - putty.exe.  https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-create-your-first-digitalocean-droplet-virtual-server
I have done this and enter info as detailed.  I then open the putty screen and can't type anything in so the session times out.
Somewhat confused by the whole process.
I am new to mining - I have an old pc hooked up to pool mining at ypool - at least that is working and also on cex.io for btc - simple process just buy and watch.  Unfortunately I am scratching my head about this.
Any assistance gratefully received
Cheers
kw

Are you using Putty to connect ?

http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html
I use this one :
http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty-0.63-installer.exe

From putty you can define your host name = ip address of the digital droplet
and connect.

once you are connected, you can paste the password using a right click
notice that the password or anything you type won't show
press enter to confirm the password and connect.

Hi
Trying to set up in Digital Ocean but it is asking for a hostname - do I have to register a domain name etc etc before I can use this or am I missing something;
Have I missed something?
Cheers

I had a problem with this tutorial. You need to set some data in the command line like the quantity of RAM and stuff.

I did this command :

./ptsminer Ppfk7DMY7wCpFfLUnSVijGwruPq3Y3WJF9 1 26 sse4

1 is 1 CPU
26 is 512 RAM
sse4 is intel

Hope this can help.

BitShares PTS / Rebuild block
« on: December 02, 2013, 09:52:43 am »
Hello,

The windows client doesn't download any new blocks, so it doesn't sync.
I'm stuck on friday. 29. nov. 06:03:00 2013.

How do I fix it ?

Any command line to rebuild the block index ?

Thanks

qmake protoshares-qt.pro
Project MESSAGE: Building with UPNP support
Removed plural forms as the target language has less forms.
If this sounds wrong, possibly the target language is not set or recognized.

I still got this on :
Ubuntu 12.04 x32
Ubuntu 13.10 x64

Ubuntu 10.04 x64 can't even get the git.

After further investigation, it appears some of the libraries in Ubuntu 13.10 are too new and incompatible with Bitcoin. Unfortunately, the maintainer of the Ubuntu PPA for the correct versions has not yet added a package for 13.10. https://launchpad.net/~bitcoin/+archive/bitcoin

Hello,
can anyone tell what linux version should I use ?
the last Ubuntu doesn't work so which one please ?
