CaptchaCoin worked along the lines you're talking about here. Have people fill out 4-5 captcha's to gain a coin. I think the dev is still active on Bitcointalk threads. Maybe we can have them swap to Dpos while also using their setup to start "mining" BTS via captcha fill outs??

Great OP on BCT Stan. It'll be interesting to see/read the blindly thrown dagger responses!  I hope everyone here can help chip in and bump it, so it's not seen as throwing meat into the lions den and running away cowardly.  This is a perfect time to stand our ground and catch some eyeballs.

I say make it as harsh as possible, and bring back the yearly haircut on unmoved balance.

We are claiming to be shareholders in an active company etc etc, so we should be active.

penalize dormant balances.

easy there killer... BTS is different things to different people... no need punishing me because i am not as smart... i cant type computers fast or good like u and dont have access to them like rich americans do... since it takes me more effort and money to change my votes than u then it is not fair for BTS to discriminate against the poor and disabled.....making votes decay over time is enough of a pain in my ass... we need to strike the perfect balance and then make this parameter adjustable within this range so we can continue to perfect

Ok. Point taken. What's you're suggestion then? What does  "we need to strike the perfect balance and then make this parameter adjustable within this range"  equate to in your mind??? As far as I'm aware it doesn't cost money to give a thought out response and state what exactly will work for you. Instead, you're spouting out blanket responses without any constructive criticism.

I think it could go quite a lot lower.

The big problem is this XT debate.

It's not even a case of reaching consensus. Even if they had DPOS . It's a problem of making a significant, controversial change to something holders want to be an immutable, stable store of value, a digital gold.

I agree with you. The XT debate has been quite a mess.
Taking this into consideration I would agree with btswildpigs statement... It very well could reach $150 USD over the next week after first bouncing around the $200 mark for some days... but who knows LOL
I'm not a day trader by any stretch

i think litecoin is headed under $1.. so puts btc at about $180-$230 IMO since bitcoin will draw in more money as it gets below $200.

Thanks for your input  ;)
I might buy some now and put another buy in at $195 to see what happens!

Either way... I'm converting it to BTS  :P

Any speculation to how low Bitcoin may drop? It's currently avg around $218 USD.
I'm anxious to buy some cheap BTC lol. Any trader gurus have some chart insight?
Does $180 USD seem realistic?

IMHO this would be yet another parameter that can be voted by shareholders ON-CHAIN!!

I agree that this is something that should be parameterized.

Those who are "lazy" should nominate a proxy and those voting by proxy should never have their votes expire unless the proxy stops updating.

This way you can serve those who want it to last forever and those who want it to expire in a manner that ensures that all voting is "pro-active" and that "passive" votes go with the majority of the active votes.

I agree with no expire on the proxy front.
Those that are non-proxy IMO should be  voted on a quarterly basis, with a 1 or 2 week reminder that the wallet can signal to the user that their vote is coming due for an update decision. If no action is taken, then either their vote is completely taken off books or quickly degrades over time by like 10-20% per day.
Most companies do quarterly updates/reviews and so should  non-proxy voting.
Or you could go hockey style and do 3 voting periods throughout the year.
Just my 2bts!

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion
« on: August 24, 2015, 03:54:41 am »

I dreamed last night that BTS went to 6400 sats overnight, then woke up and was sad it was still under 1600.
lol!
My first dream of Bitshares price increase in July 2014 came true. Since then my dreams of bitshares price spikes have not came true once!

I did have a dream, that bytemaster is an incarnation of an alien that Stan had contact with in his 20's. Stan made a sort of pact with the alien entity... although I'm not sure he realized it would reincarnate as his son. But it had to be that way so they could continue to work together so that their aim would be realized. I think Stan had to choose between his future wife and the alien. There was conflict in his life in this period over the contact. That was my dream - what I can remember anyways. I doubt it's true but it would hep to explain BM's amazingness.

Hmmm, maybe we should contact the Ancient Aliens show on History Channel and have them investigate this. There might be some credibility to this. [emoji1]

*edit- I'm in no way implying that your ancient Stan [emoji12]

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares online retail idea
« on: August 23, 2015, 06:33:46 pm »
Tbh I didn't get to deep into it just yet, but this was my line of thinking... To set up a website that is a "BTS" store to where people can pick pre-made Bitshares designs and logos along with the item they want... Place the order and then have that order get submitted to a custom merchant (like Zaazle or equivalent) who would then make the item and drop ship the custom BTS product. The profit of that sale could then go either way.... Convert to BTS and burn 100%, do a 50% burn and 50% hold profit or some combination there of?!
This way you could sell shirts, hoodies, jackets, mugs, stationary, etc etc.
