Any bank pay you interest for the money in your pocket?

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,15888.0.html

it is better Zapply... before we made the people providing  the product  pay the customer interest for having/using the product...

it is better now, cause we have found out we can pay you same or better interests... by printing new money...

I really cannot see how this could fail?

Ohh and those are not actually new money... cause we told you at the beginning exactly how much we can print! So printing them does not count.

PS
now you have it tbone...now you can say I have stated I do not like the proposal...
PSS
The same problem applies to MKR btw...in somewhat greater sense. per their design payments from the shorters are essential for the value of their 'insurance' doa.

Community Action Request: Content for Azure BaaS blog post.

Background:
I've been in contact with Marley Gray, Director, BizDev & Strategy - Cloud and Enterprise, Microsoft on the on-boarding process for BitShares to Azure BaaS.  We are a pull request approval from being live.

Request:
First, please review Mr. Marley's previous blog posts to see how other blockchain offerings are being positioned [1].  Then, please provide ideas on what you feel should be included in his upcoming blog post highlighting BitShares.  I have a skeleton contained within the metadata.json and README.md files within the GitHub repository [2].  If you choose to tweet this information, please mention @ryanRfox

Gratitude:
Thanks to all those that have tested the scripts and provided feedback thus far; please offer more.

[1] https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/blog/author/marleyg/
[2] https://github.com/ryanRfox/azure-quickstart-templates/tree/review/bitshares-ubuntu-vm

Will you be sending him bullet points or a full article?

If BitShares gets it's own post, this is a good layout/format to start with:
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/blog/ethereum-blockchain-as-a-service-now-on-azure/

Things to focus on:
 - why do people want it on Azure and what will this help them accomplish/build?
 - brief history of accomplishments, general goals, future outlook
 - what makes Graphene unique; what does it offer that others don't?

We should reuse the nice write-ups here: https://bitshares.org/technology/

IMO for the microsoft audience, these are the best pages to pull from:
https://bitshares.org/technology/delegated-proof-of-stake-consensus/
https://bitshares.org/technology/dynamic-account-permissions/
https://bitshares.org/technology/industrial-performance-and-scalability/

Stan is uncharacteristically silent on this topic... I take it as sure sign it is happening and he has already written a great article. ?

Openledger / Re: March OBITS BUYBACK/BURN - 1.332 mill BTS / 12 BTC

I have all the numbers that I need!

73.31% of the dividend is from issuing new tokens... I was simply asking about the word ..."successful what"

So in short: 976,500 BTS of the total of 1,332,000 BTS are fresh new money from new investors which are used to pay old investors.
I just wonder if the mankind has come up with a term for such practices yet...

Seems like it restored it...but no actual accounts show up. Do not know if this is the expected result or not.

   Were there any errors in the console?

Yes, the error that you expected: the chain ID expected did not match the one of the wallet.

It is not over complected. The code is below, the worker to pay for it coming soon  :)

Code: [Select]

   * @param {Number}  value The number.
   * @param {Integer} exp   The exponent (the 10 logarithm of the adjustment base).
   * @returns {Number} The adjusted value.
   */
  function decimalAdjust(type, value, exp) {
    // If the exp is undefined or zero...
    if (typeof exp === 'undefined' || +exp === 0) {
      return Math[type](value);
    }
    value = +value;
    exp = +exp;
    // If the value is not a number or the exp is not an integer...
    if (isNaN(value) || !(typeof exp === 'number' && exp % 1 === 0)) {
      return NaN;
    }
    // Shift
    value = value.toString().split('e');
    value = Math[type](+(value[0] + 'e' + (value[1] ? (+value[1] - exp) : -exp)));
    // Shift back
    value = value.toString().split('e');
    return +(value[0] + 'e' + (value[1] ? (+value[1] + exp) : exp));
  }

  // Decimal round
  if (!Math.round10) {
    Math.round10 = function(value, exp) {
      return decimalAdjust('round', value, exp);
    };
  }
  // Decimal floor
  if (!Math.floor10) {
Math.floor10 = function(value, exp) {
      return decimalAdjust('floor', value, exp);
    };
  }
  // Decimal ceil

... where it comes to financial exchange software, things like fees and decimal places being as written, do matter.

every serious person will run or laugh when he sees floating point math being used in a 'financial' platform. It is a joke or a toy but  not a financial platform...

But when I say something like that... a 'complainer' and not a doer I am promptly called... so I will just shut up... and fix it.

This code has been replaced on the testnet.  Unfortunately the testnet will probably not like your backup, it was on a different chain ID.  I'm wondering if it is a good idea to put in a console command that will let you import it anyways.

This will help us see the issue in the backup using the new code.  What do you think, do you want to try and import it on the testnet?

Where is the console in the web wallet (or the light wallet for that matter)? OK I found it.
If you mean to add it to the cli_wallet, it will be even cooler.  it is a bit strange to have 2 different kind of back-ups not compatible to each other.
Other than that, sure if you add it, I will try importing it. (and yes it says 'it is not a test wallet' when I try it right now)

You can try this (latest version compile) - https://github.com/btscube/bitshares-2/releases/tag/2.0.160223

I got it to work under similar condition as yours.  If this worked for you, let me know.

same  :(

can you start the lightwallet in a terminal and see of you get some more details?

Sure... I will ...I expect them to be all over it once I post it.... just like here:
