Title: Corrupt Database errors
Post by: emailtooaj on September 19, 2014, 01:41:09 am
Hey guys!

I'm not complaining per se, but every time I do the wallet updates and go to reopen the client, the "Database is Corrupt" error window always pops up. I end up needing to re sync to whole chain.
Here's what I've been doing...when prompt that a new upgrade is available I always click OK and let it do it's thing. After the update installs it crashes when trying to reopen, the Send error report window pops up, I give it permission to send it to you guys, then the Database corrupt error window pops up and I click Ok to recreate. After that, the client opens up ok and starts to sync to the network.
Should I go back to doing old school and wipe the BitsharesX folder clean along with appdata, of course saving a backup json before doing so; and then install updated versions that way?

Running Win 8.1 64bit

I think you can just delete the chain subdirectory.  Leave wallets, peers.db or whatever.  It'll start up and just re-download the chain.  No need to do the other stuff, (restore backup).  That is likely to add to the work.

Please do backup etc though.  Be careful when deleting any directory you have a copy of your wallet etc....
