How far off are we on transaction speeds from Bitcoin? Visa is about 2.4 million tps (transactions per second) max but really averages 2k tps. I see a proposal by Mike Hearn to scale Bitcoin to 1k tps.
Can we get to 1K tps this easily with DPOS? Adoption means we get to use up a little bit of time from many individuals. I'll use an analogy from the great Steve Jobs (speaking about boot times) but in our case: take the sum of all that time if people have to spend extra time or even bail on our assets, how many life times will be used up by all the unnecessary waiting? I'm not saying lets in 1k tps by the end of the year, It is good for us to grow at a healthy rate. However, I do want to bring this up now because we have set an end-of-year goal on when our hard-forking may slow or cease. If some optimization may involve hard-forking, some basic prep optimization can be made before that goal, we can rest easier.
