MemoryCoin / Re: Guide to Cloud Mining Memory Coin
« on: February 11, 2014, 01:31:50 pm »
Solo cloud mining with the built-in non-optimized miner is definitely not profitable.

I don't think pool mining would be, because the VPS CPUs probably don't support AES.

Uh. Sorry, no idea...my windows knowledge is extremely limited.
Your idea of reinstalling and checking the registry sounds good, if it doesn't work after that maybe someone else can step in helping here?

//edit: yes, maybe freetrade :D

Hello brian,

there's probably a file in %appdata%\MemoryCoin which didn't get deleted. Navigate there and delete everything except your wallet.dat (hope you got a backup of it - issues like that may corrupt the file). After that, try starting the program again.

Did you have the miner running when you closed the MemoryCoin client?

For 32bit systems you can try with an older wallet version, maybe the miner included there works. But it will be very slow and probably not cost-effective.
I wanted to include a link here anyways, but it seems it's lately been removed by our web admins.

I tested with a AMD A8-5600K (piledriver) cpu yesterday, and found the generic miner to get the best results.
Tried the bd and bt ones before and was really surprised that generic got more hashes (they've all been in the range of 3.1-3.6)

Delinquenicy: please share your reasons for not wanting it open source here! At the moment I agree with FreeTrade, but I'll hold my vote until I know your reasons.

It's a known issue that the wallet stops syncing sometimes when the included miner is running. Doesn't affect your payouts, only what the wallet displays :)
You can always check your address on the block explorer (mmc-chain.com) or agran's site (http://agran.net/mmc_getbalance.php).

The captchas are only there for a few posts, 3 or 5, I don't remember.

yes, seems you're right. we probably just lost a botnet...

caliboy, what do you expect?
Everyone with a cpu that isn't antiquated can mine it, and if you sell right now you still get out more than the electricity used to mine costs. Even with the ridicolously high energy prices here in germany (0.33$/kWh) it's nearly a 2x roi.

That's been the plan from the beginning - so what's the problem?

MemoryCoin / hashrate down (was: 1gh under ddos, 90% hashrate gone)
« on: February 07, 2014, 05:56:39 pm »
Thanks to all the people who don't care about hashrate distribution over multiple pools :P

The Kimoto Gravity Well will take care about it, but it needs some blocks - join mmcpool or dwarfpool if you're not already mining there!

Is your wallet synced (Block 13085)?
