Just seen the preview video, great stuff.

Another question, since xt is a MVP, does it still include inactivity fees? If so how much are they and for what period. Can remember reading this, but unable to find the topic.

Any chance we can go back to the original topic? Would love to hear more details about the DAC's.

General Discussion / Re: DAC Power for Offline Businesses

There would be some trust involved, that the business owner would deposit everything into the DAC, etc., and not jump ship, but that risk already exists in expecting a digital DAC owner to honor the Social Contract. Would my offline suggestion be any different than a corporation or a government that decides to turn over its voting to the digital blockchain, which I know DAC proponents have suggested as a future possibility?

The big difference is that an "online" DAC is open source. If the "digital DAC owner" where to decide not to honour the contract. The DAC would simply be forked(copied) by someone who will honour the social contract. The digital DAC makes this form of trust unnecessary.

General Discussion / Re: Creating a DAC that sells juice

The short answer is, DAC's could be used to settle any disputes, so this could apply to any sector. I don't have the skills to explain this very clear in English.

As for fundraising every DAC with the intention of making money, come with a fundraising platform of their own. When honoring the social consences, you would give 20% to AGS/PTS holders(2x10%) and you could use the rest of the shares for fundraising.

You got the C right out of DAC.

A DAC is 100% code.  I think you're missing the autonomous part.

So if mr juice boy starts a company, it wouldn't be a DAC.

An easier example of a DAC is bitshares itself, once launched it's a decentralized exchange which runs on it's own.

Bitshares is just the first DAC by Invictus, it's not connected to other DAC's.

Being a absolute coding noob. Just reading the document:

Value importprivkey(const Array& params, bool fHelp)
{
    if (fHelp || params.size() < 1 || params.size() > 2)
        throw runtime_error(
            "importprivkey <NoirSharesPrivkey> [label]\n"
            "Adds a private key (as returned by dumpprivkey) to your wallet.");
    string strSecret = params[0].get_str();
    printf("before %s",strSecret.c_str());
    strSecret = convertAddress(strSecret.c_str(),149);
    printf("after %s",strSecret.c_str());
    string strLabel = "";

Why is the noirshares in there?

General Discussion / Re: Confusing Bitshare / Pts

On 28.2 4 million bitshares are given away to PTS and AGS holders.
2 million bitshares are given to people (like you) who own PTS. At that moment a little over 1.5 million PTS exist. So for every PTS you'll get about 1.3 BTS(bit shares).

So the snapshot is a list of people who will get bitshares.
Your PTS is NOT transformed to BTS
PTS= PTS+BTS

Selling is your choice, exchanges like bter, will still accept PTS.
If you want to sell you have to wait till march 1 0.00 (01.00 German time), don't take it out of your wallet before or you don't get BTS.
PTS will likely drop a bit in price, but when a New DAC is about to be released the price will go up again.

I think they will drop because a Lott of people think PTS will only give BTS.

Es tut Mir leit, German is nicht gut.

1. 28-2 isn't the release date, a snapshot is taken which determins how BTS is allocated.
2. Just keep your PTS in your local wallet and tools will be provided to claim BTS
3. There is a chance that PTS will drop on March 1, however they are still valuable because they will entitle you to a share in future DAC s.

BitShares PTS / Re: So I just bought a ProtoShare (PTS) ... now what?
« on: February 20, 2014, 06:28:14 pm »
As long as you have your PTS in a private wallet by 28th Feb. you can figure out the rest later. When BTS is released around The Ides of March (15th) there will be guides to help you claim them. :)

Apologies as I'm a bit confused... Do we have to continue to hold PTS till March 15 in order to be eligible for BTSX?
No till March 1st, just be sure to download the PTS wallet, and keep it there

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares equivalent of localbitcoins?

Maybe you could follow the price of BTS USD of one of the exchanges, and let sellers choose a percentage they would like to add to that price.

Competition from other sellers in the region would result in a fair percentage.

Hi Adam,

From a noobs perspective I think you're overreacting a bit.

In this fast evolving crypto space, I'd rather see a company adapt and make changes, then just continue the lesser original plan. If the funding with PTS was simply just not enough, then AGS was necessary. Something could be said about how AGS devalued PTS in the short term, but it's to late to reverse. But the value of PTS to BTS and following DAC's hasn't got worse.

So far the decisions made by III seem logical.

Thanks

Can someone confirm this?:

60 days of funding for the snapshot. Jan+Feb+1 keyhotee
AGS created 10000*60=600k
2 million/600k=3.3333 BTS per AGS

Can't wait to see the 12 day roller coaster ride for PTS, when this news comes out.
