There is (still) a 800 client limit on the pool! We still have room!
This is the offical announcement for the XRamPool (or just XPool).

any plans on making miner for windows as well? :)
-
yes, hopefully there will be a miner for windows within 12 hours from now.
-
thanks:)

yes, that is because the pool is down due to crashing.
It was working great earlier today... but then it crashed and I cant get it going again.
-
hi killer,
are you working on the pool down, will connected miners still work? because some of my miner still doing 100% load
thanks for pool.
-
i want to buy mmc send pm!!!
-
hi killer,
are you working on the pool down, will connected miners still work? because some of my miner still doing 100% load
thanks for pool.
yes, I am still working on fixing it.
If your miner is still doing 100% load, it is probobly still trying to mine the block it last recieved. If you let it keep running, when I fix the pool it will automatically connect again once I finally get it back up.
-
The server just worked for a few seconds, many mienrs connected, but then a JSON-RPC command was executed and it crashed.
I believe I have fixed the problem regarding the rogue command. Now we just have to wait for it to start up again...
Thanks for the patience! This is where being a pool operator is very stressful.

Absolutely. I will make sure to make a post and do some updates to the forum post while I am at it.
-
Just to update, the blockchain was corrupted, so I uploaded a copy from my computer and hopefully that will fix things.
-
The pool is now up and running again, hopefully for the night because I have to go!
Individual stats is having some issues. Just remember that whatever is said in the blocks is what counts! i will have these bugs fixed up tomorrow.
Shares are saved every 30 seconds, and balances are saved immediately, so nothing should be lost. Backups occour regularly. In my 3 pools I run now, I have never lost share records :)
Happy mining.

tks killer, cheers

How do I work on windows ?
Its not out yet, you'll need to wait a day or 2 for the windows version.
I got it running on Ubuntu 13.0 its working smoothly now.
Thanks guys.
Will start adding more hashpower now to the pool for a few hours. Will go full load once the pool is stable and good to go.
Update:
Finding shares now, we should see a noticeable increase in hashpower in the next few days :D
Update:
Using a 32 core server, averaging about 1 share per core so around 30-40 shares/h.

What do you mean by prop?

Looks like its doing great, we found 2 blocks pretty quick around 18 minutes between each.
Got 10 servers mining on this now we should be finding blocks faster now.
-
time to time I see a "force reconnect if possible!" ... is it asking me to kill it and reconnect or is it telling me that it reconnected?

I think it reconnects automatically, i got something like that but it just reconnected and started mining again.

Thanks for getting this pool going, even if its a little flakey at the moment :)
I've been noticing the occasional "segmentation fault" from the miner, anyone else seeing this? (its happened at least once on all the machines I've run it on).

And are you getting payments to your wallet since it's down?
Well I got one ... like 1 hour ago...since then.. nothing..

Pool is not working even if the site loads, its frozen. KB has to restart it again but I think he's sleeping now.
I think just stick to solo mining for now until KB wakes up and fixes everything so the pool runs smoothly.
You'll notice the site loads but no stats are displayed nor blocks found.
-
killerbyte, any news on system:111 issue!? Can you pls give a short feedback about, cause its to expensive for me if all instances not able to connect.
Thx for your reply

He went to sleep. That system:111 issue means the pool is frozen he has to restart the server manually but I think tomorrow he's going to fix the pool so it runs smoothly.
Try mining solo for now or another coin until he fixes the issue your going to be mining nothing for hours if you stay on his pool.

Hi isaac,
The miner was hastily built. The hash generated means exactly what it says... I dont know how else to describe it.
The submit means the hash was low enough to submit.
Unfortunately, the pool froze at that point. Normally, you would be seeing a report right after that which says weather or not the server accepted the share. I will be fixing that issue within the next few hours.
And yes, payouts should execute this morning for all who have mined on the pool at all really... get ready :)
Also, are you running windows? If you have a compilation of the miner, could you provide it to the rest of the world? that would help me alot. Thanks!

System 111 means pool offline! Maby I should just put that on the FAQ or something.... :)

-
And why is offline ? :-[
It has probobly been offline for a long time now... the pool code has a freezing issue which I am going to resolve today and then the pool should work much better.

I just now got the server up again.
UPDATE: Looks like 5 blocks have been mined by the server!!! I only knew of 2. THe most recent 3 are still immature.
Payouts will start this morning as soon as I fix a couple more bugs.
-
for the pool is sufficient the hash or the submit?
THe submit, which is only 1 out of every 16 generated hashes on average. each share is worth about 0.25 MMC at this time though on an average block.

is pool online ???

Happy mining! :)
Also, about payouts:
If you look on the server and put your address in, it should show your confirmed balance. This will be payed within 40 more blocks tops, some of the blocks matured prematurely (wow, that makes no sense) and so we need to wait. You can, however, see your balance if you look.

From my research, that error is explained here:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13995830/windows-boost-asio-10061-in-async-receive-from-on-on-async-send-to
I would try reconnecting... if that still doesnt work, I will look into it soon. If you have a firewall that could block it... unblock it.

like the memorycoin wallet, 2, 4, or 8, or 16, or 32, or 64 :)
How do you know how much power is being generated and when the share is valid?
when the share is sent to the server, the proof of work is checked to ensure it is valid. Then it is checked again to see if it would work for a block. :)
The web server is a little overloaded rigt now, I am currently compiling a new version of the pool, so that is why.

OK. I will get the mienr on github and start working on these things.
If you can provide the 32 bit miner as it is though (those bugs are minor), it would me out. Thanks!

no it does not accept 64, it says max 32

do you have an idea about segv problem ?

The reason for that is because the memorycoin miner splits into multiple threads. If you look at the CPU, it should be 100% used up in all cores though. The miner just works a little different.
What /h is everyone getting,

I do not know the hashrate, I will be implementing the calculation functions very soon onto the pool so everyone will know though.

the address is: M9pqFh5wiUUF65GM4wgUKMEbH2exDQXnLg
it has found 5 blocks, which will be payed within an hour or so to all people who helped mined them.

sorry, missed your post.
How often does it occour? I actually get some segfaults on my personal miner sometimes as well, but they are rare and far between, usually I just use a supervisor or something to keep it going.

try restarting the miner... it seems to have disconnected to the pool and not been able to reconnect (even though it should have)...
I am still working on improving the miner, it is by far the thing that could use the most improvement on the pool.

sorry, missed your post.
How often does it occour? I actually get some segfaults on my personal miner sometimes as well, but they are rare and far between, usually I just use a supervisor or something to keep it going.
Thank you for your answer! Yeah they are quite rare, but code fail after it, I need to figure-out how to restart it automatically after it, coz I wanna mine continuously. The problem is I have few servers, and this error makes my life hard

the pool block finding address just recieved 29 MMC... was that a donation or an accident? The donation address is listed on the front page, that is where you should donate if that is the case :) but thank you.
FYI, that was not a block. we are getting unlucky this round. When a block is found, it is displayed on the front page.

try looking at this tutorial for primecoin, it is relevant for this miner. Look at how it runs the supervisor:

yes, it is telling you how much MMC you will get when a block is finally mined by the server.

really? always reject? Only the submits are counted. If they are always rejected, thats a problem with the miner (aka, my problem which I have to fix)

I am beginning to notice there are alot of rejects right now. I think it is a miner problem with syncing once work is recieved. Again, I have some work to do. :)

NOW we just found a block. Check the front page to see payouts!

when submit? this means if you have smal hashrate is not good pool? something 1.2 h/m is not for the pool?

It's still a beta pool, and the first one at that. It's going to need tweaks and updates; and it's going to be up and down. So expect occasional downtime.
I don't run the pool nor am I affiliated with it, but it needed to be said.

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
I'm mining on amazon servers using Ubuntu as the OS. I created an image that has everything set for mining all I need to do is launch an instance (server), SSH into that server and type in:
./memoryminer -poolip=mmc.xpool.xram.co -poolport=1339 -pooluser=.......................etc
Is there anyway to make the miner start automatically without having to SSH into each server?
I was thinking of adding that command in the "Advanced details" at the bottom of the page where you set your max spot price and other options.
Would that work?
Thanks.

Its been awhile since we found a block, diff didn't go up that much for it to take this long. Currently at 23000+ shares. Could it be do due to connection problems that happening?
-
finally get out Ć² stuck block, 33k shares, incredible

I am beginning to worry there is an exploit with the pool share system...which allows miners to submit valid shares more than once. I had code to stop this since the beginning, but it may not be working. I doubt this is the case, but I will shrewdly observe this problem as soon as I get home tonight.
The server upgrade is coming in 3 hours tonight, should improve server uptime quite a bit.
For those helping others on the forums while I am not here, thanks!
-
I've noticed some rather odd behavior- when you have two miners using same address one of them seems to fall behind quite a bit(identical machines). I'm going to switch to two addresses and see if it straightens out....
-
Immediately after I start the miner it works for about 2 minutes. Here's an example:

Hi, KillerByte, Thanks for you effort for the pool
I got following output in my miner, it looks like it's sending the same share within a short time. The first is accepted and the second is rejected. Does that mean some duplicate work is in different threads? Maybe you can fix it to make the miner more efficient.

pool down again?
It seems that way.
Guys the System:111 error means that the pool is down but also means everything is working correctly except a valid connection to the pool.
I think this should be solved after server migration in a few hours so sit tight and wait until the new server comes in.

Immediately after I start the miner it works for about 2 minutes. Here's an example:

Well, I also have another question. Is this coin can utilize much more memory than 1 GB? If I have 32 GB could I use them all?
It should only use 1GB no matter how many threads you have.
I will now address the maximum threads limit problem... do my best to fix it. Stay tuned!
EDIT: Pool just crashed. I will fix!!!
-
hi Killer,
how long does the upgrade take? it's only upgrade the front web server or also mining server? will minging will stop while upgrading?

windows greatly ignored
please dont look at is ignored, the pool is still in ultra-heavy development as it is. I still have not been able to figure out how to provide for windows.
To everyone else, the pool hardware (previously said software, no, it was hardware) update is complete. The pool is having crashing issues, so I am fixing right now. Should be fixed soon hopefully.

-
Whats up with the payout?
The pool is pretty much down right now... so payouts cannot occour. I am still working on figuring out why it is freezing... some JSON-RPC issue or something.
-
Pool is back online
Sorry for the downtime. I think I might have finally nailed the freezing bug. Either way... notice the speed improvement! The pool is loading much faster now and can process more shares quickly.
Tomorrow is Christmas, so I will not be working on the code in the morning. Also, a potential huge miner improvement may be coming! (like, a huge improvement that will fix the issues with Windows, not accepted shares, and show stats).
Anyway, sorry about the tough server upgrade.
Payouts should execute within 30 minutes so long as the pool doesnt crash. 800+ MMC is ready to do so. :)

I do not believe that it will improve your speed to raise the limit. That would be a question for FreeTrade since I am not an expert on the mining process.

Man...if you had windows support - i would have brought in around 1000 HPM within a few hours :/

Miners who need more than 32 threads:
The bug has been fixed! You can now mine with more than 32 threads (the limit was set to 128, I hope that is sufficient!).
The new source code is also in a Github repo. You should be able to pull. Give it a try! https://github.com/KillerByte/memoryminer

ALSO: We just mined 2 blocks in a row. Hooray!
ALSO2: We have a little problem with payouts which will delay them until tomorrow. The user balances seem to be incorrect, so they will be recalculated. Sorry for the delay.

yes, I have no experience with cross compiling, and I have been asking people who have successfully done it with their windows machines to provide a binary... it would help me alot...

most of the time it just causes a slowdown a believe, that is my experience with XPM. If you have an intel processor with hyperthreading though, make sure to use all the cores.

Are payouts handled automatically? FAQ says about 0.5 MMC but right now I have greater amount on balance. Could you please clarify this?

Please also change XPM to MMC in the following text on FAQ page "The balance is the amount of XPM mined on blocks...".

Well... A lot of people have been mining with a lot more than 1.22H/m for a lot longer than 3d and found nothing...
so if your're lucky.. yeah it can be profitable

The trick to mining solo is Persistence =)
I'm completely risk free (no clouds) running a total of 30 H/m

estimated payout appears tied to 280 as a reward, not to the actual reward. (as of right now, I'm hashing 10% of the pool, and the estimated reward shown as calculated was 28.0) not sure if it's related or just a reporting issue on the individual stats page
edit: (for clarity, I mean the "This Round Estimated Payout" value on the individual stats page)

Yep, it probably worked. You can press enter and then call less nohup.out
to see the miner's progress.
Then you can leave the console freely without killing the process

I don't think it will work, mining MMC is different than mining XPM. I wouldn't waste using that unless you want to test it and wait until we find the next block. Look for your wallet address in the payout list if its not their than it doesn't work.
@itsik78
Thanks its working I guess it doesn't show the miner working until you request to see it. I checked the cpu usage using the htop command and happy to see 100% across all 32 cores :)
Thanks for the help. 2 MMC for your help!

Yep, as I said, you can see the progress in the nohup.out file (it prints everything there instead of directly on the console).
I suggest you take a look at the file with the command I gave you just to make sure :)
Thanks for the tip!
EDIT: OH! Forgot to tell you that in the "less nohup.out" screen you need to press shift+f in order to scroll down to the bottom of the file and see the live progress :) (and ctrl+c >> q to quit)

Push "getmininginfo" into console (it's in "About" menu of wallet). For your CPU hashrate = 1hpm looks like real value.

Are you getting payments from the pool?
-
I was mining all the night with 6 computers and I didn't receive anything...why?
Pool mining or solo? It's normal for solo, but should not have no shares if you are using this pool.

what is the error? Standard 111 or something else?
have you received any MMC in this pool i mean after a period time of mining i get no MMC in my wallet with about 20 shares
Couple things:
1. Shares become value in blocks once they are mined
2. Then the block must be confirmed. This is something required by the network and is pretty much out of my control
3. Then the balance must reach 0.5 MMC
4. Then you will be payed.
Additionally, the payouts are currently stalled due to a little problem in the system. You will be payed today.
One payout has already been executed, so this one has just been delayed. Sorry about that.
Has anyone been experiencing lower reject rates with the new server? My computer has not had a single reject all night.
-
It's just hashing forever and not receiving any new "[Master] Work received". Then after a while it will go "force reconnect".
The round shares on this block is pretty nuts btw... I don't get it.

20000k shares??? wtf?
-
It looks like the pool get stuck in current round, now it's >20k shares.
Not sure if this is a real difficult block or a pool error.

any lightweight linux distro would probobly be best. Ubuntu would work fine, so would Linux Mint. If you really want to optimize it, Arch Linux if you can figure it out... does that help? :)
Glad you enjoy the pool (I still have work to do :) )

That's what I also thought but there's no firewall at all running. Completely open to the net. It's running on Microsoft's cloud service. Plus it works at first then the TCP connection must drop or something.

Your payouts will happen later today, no more than 6 more hours most likely. Sorry about the delay.

hey badbonez,
if you see this:
[MASTER] submitted share -> SHARE
[STATS] 2013-12-25 17:08:05 | SHARES: 2 (100.0% | 39.1/h), VL: 2 (100.0%), RJ: 0

it means that the share was taken by the server and it is valid.
I am not sure why the website would not be working for you though... unless the pool crashed again and I was not aware. It should automatically restart.

Thanks. And sorry, I wasn't precise. What I meant was I don't see any "Top Miners" listed. Maybe that's a WIP.
What does it mean when it says
hash generated - 6226 / 1968 / 3314930639
I'm still new to mining and linux. Thanks!

the pool seems to be down now...
we now have over 1k miners connecting... which is causing some known problems.
I am already on to fixing. Should not be too long.
I guess I am underestimating the number of people connecting...

no, its a software issue. the hosting is good... trust me.

OK, I might have finally found the reason why the pool keeps crashing!
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost::exception_detail::clone_impl<boost::exception_detail::error_info_injector<boost::system::system_error> >'
what(): accept: Too many open files
Does this mean that the server has reached its limit?
Figured I would post this and let everyone know. It has finally been found!

also this helps

I was getting into that. Unfortunately, the hard limit must be increased. I just edited /etc/sysctl.conf, hopefully the restart will fix.
EDIT: that was not the limits file... so I just found out it is somewhere else :)

open /etc/security/limits.conf and change pool software user limit.

its just C++ code with boost.
I think that will work. Thanks for the help. Do you think a restart is needed?
-
if you edint any .conf file - the settings will be triggered after reboot.
just in case also apply the port range that I've given also.
This will increase the possible simultaneous connections to the server.
you can paste here the result of cat /proc/net/sockstat once the server is up and running for at least 10-20 minutes, so we can see what is the load and if you are near some limit.
-
KilleByte will you publish the code so that more people can contribute? I guess it will have positive effect on quality.

Not need but pool server need optimize /etc/sysctl.conf keepalive time out vs..

I have been considering it... but then everyone else will just open their own pool :)
This wasnt even a software bug, so a code change would not have helped.

I just noticed. Probobly has to do with the server crashes... I am trying to decide if it matters to reset or not. I think it is fine to leave it, just so long as it resets next block.

I think you have to keep it running for some time to get proper stats, because there is some luck involved also... as far as I know.
Otherwise REJECTS are not good to have... it happens to me also.

yeah, thats because it just crashed... again :( debugging....
EDIT: 1000+ clients connecting. That is probobly part of why. I have the debugger running. ready for another error.
EDIT: *** buffer overflow detected ***: memorypool terminated
I think I know the fix... but any ideas while I am at it?

stats for 64 core and 64 threads
[STATS] 2013-12-25 19:23:21 | SHARES: 5 (100.0% | 5.4/h), VL: 5 (62.5%), RJ: 3 (37.5%), ST: 0 (0.0%)
I think you have to keep it running for some time to get proper stats, because there is some luck involved also... as far as I know.
Otherwise REJECTS are not good to have... it happens to me also.
yes, most likely because the server crashes. Thanks for the report though.
My computer at home has 0 rejects when the server works... :)

Also, we have 25k shares without a block :(
there are a lot of solo miners i think

hmm, probably around 10 hpm.
regarding submitting double shares, it sometimes happens that the miner submits one or two shares and right after that tries to submit another one or two shares which then get rejected...

agreed... but there is nothing online about how to fix it.

One thing you can check is the 'SystemMaxUse' in '/etc/system/systemd-journald.conf' to see how much memory journald has allocated.

The crash always happens on net.cpp, line 980 on the standard memorycoind...
bug in memorycoind?
From the error, at a google-glance, are you running out of memory or temp space?
nope, the temp memory isnt even used and there is plenty enough RAM...

I have a question. After being mining almost a day during the uptime I checked my stats and see that I had 0,03 MMC confirmed and 0,07 MMC unconfirmed.
Are those stats correct, if it is I don't think that worth the effort :/

pool has been restored finally.
NEW: Client limit. Has been set to 800 for the time being. If you cant connect and the website works, that is why. First come first serve.
I did this because the pool handles that amount properly, but add much more, and problems occour.
Payouts should occour within 30 minutes... hopefully that happens :)
EDIT: Check out the website, now shows the number of clients, so you know when to connect.

are you in the right thread here? Title is: mmc.xpool.xram.co - First Memorycoin Pool
-
for me the payouts is secondary. :D
how much ram the server have?
-
I downloaded wallet src, but rode, there is completed wallet for Windows and downloaded it.
And there: http://mmc.xpool.xram.co/
"./primeminer -poolip=mmc.xpool.xram.co -poolport=1339 "
So I thought, mmc is mining by primeminer.
Can you give link? And how to compile src file to exe?

A share is when the miner prints "submit: " and then a hash... found hash just says when your computer makes a hash. One out of every 16 shares are taken.

I should rephrase - one out of every 16 hashes are taken
also, pool was restarted to make a fix to the payouts... to try to get them to execute.
whats annoying is that payouts were already working... now they are not.... figuring this out :)

why every 16? is possible that change work during mining

everyone has to follow this policy. It makes it so that all shares are equally valued.

you are right, but why not submit every 8?
-
you are right, but why not submit every 8?
because then the server would have to process double the shares, which is more load.
Also, each share would be worth only half.

Now it is difficult even with the pools :(

how long does your computer take to make a hash? Sounds like you should make one every 16 mins.

1.4 h/m, attend port 8080 for other pc 2.4 h/m and the stability for a amazon 24 core istance. But usually I can add machines 1.4 h/m

Sorry, this doesn't make sense to me. Why isn't every hash submitted? My 8-core machine only had 5 and 13 hashes between the last two "[MASTER] work received", are they wasted? Sorry if these are slightly newbie questions, I have done pool mining before, I just want to know the meaning of these outputs, its a change from what xolokram's pts miner reports!

the hashes are not wasted.
Think bitcoin mining: your ASIC goes through billions of hashes a second. Does it submit every single hash? No, just the ones that meet the target set by the server.
Does that help? :)

hey, here is the announcement:
Starting tomorrow, payouts will be manually executed. Your balance will go to 0, but shortly after you should recieve your payment.
Also, if this happens again and I cant figure out why, the pool is done.
I am sorry for all the delays, downtime, and else of the pool. I am sorry that there is no windows client. I am sorry for any other confusion.
Thanks for all the support as well, even though I have been a fail of a pool operator :)

you dont need too much "sorry", you're very good one and have a very good support on MemoryCoin by adding the first pool on the market.
Also you have put lot of efforts on the pool to make it better day by day.
The point is cause this is the first pool so lot of hashing power, lot of connections that you're may not expected...
So, after all, thanks you. Hopefully someone else can take care your pool.
@Just dont make its code too public, you know what i mean, mushrooms after rains...., diff to the moon.... normal users leave.... coin go nowhere :-X

To start, I'm a linux noob so these may be basic questions, but please answer if you can.
Using the directions listed earlier in the thread I've loaded this miner onto a few free cloud servers and got it running. But under individual stats, the pool does not appear to be updating my work from these servers. In my window I see:

hash generated - 2643 / 1968 / 924297987
hash generated - 3318 / 1968 / 3458445307
This is on an 8CPU compute with AES capabilities. Questions:
1) Does the output look right? Am I mining? I have several of these servers and not one has submitted anything.
2) Is there a command to give that tells me what hash rate I am getting while mining?
3) What does: 'hash generated - 14067 / 1968 / 2427032049' mean? I'd like to understand this output.
Thanks. And big thanks for putting this pool up!

hi KillerByte,
are you working on the pool server issues or on the payout, when will the payouts will happen? i got almost 1k MMC in your pool ;D
hey, here is the announcement:
Starting tomorrow, payouts will be manually executed. Your balance will go to 0, but shortly after you should recieve your payment.
Also, if this happens again and I cant figure out why, the pool is done.
I am sorry for all the delays, downtime, and else of the pool. I am sorry that there is no windows client. I am sorry for any other confusion.
Thanks for all the support as well, even though I have been a fail of a pool operator :)

Don't worry, I have officially decided against sharing the pool code.
I really do appreciate the words of encouragement. I am easily discouraged :)

Hey badbonez,
sorry, I almost missed your post!
1. Looks like you are mining OK to me, maby not very quickly however.
2. Currently, there is no command. It should match your hashrate when solo mining though.
3. Hash generated means that you have successfully made a hash. On average, one out of every 16 of those messages, a share will be submitted to the pool.
-
Pool was restarted a couple times to implement a new feature to allow for estimating the pool hashrate.
Hope to implement this by tomorrow.

Here is a short description to run memoryminer as a daemon service for Ubuntu and to log the output. Advantage is it will be started automatically during startup of system and keeps running if your ssh session is terminated or the process is killed
First install memoryminer for example under /root
cd /root
sudo apt-get -y install git build-essential htop libboost-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-program-options-dev libboost-thread-dev libssl-dev libdb++-dev libminiupnpc-dev
wget "http://mmc.xpool.xram.co/assets/files/memoryminer.tar.bz2"
bzip2 -d memoryminer.tar.bz2
tar xvf memoryminer.tar
cd memoryminer
cd src
make -f makefile.unix
Second step create the daemon script and daemon service
vi /etc/init/memoryminer
press key i to switch into insert mode in vi
Add following content below but change following for your situation:
- user=<your user>
- home=<home directory of your user>
- pooluser=<your wallet address>
- genproclimit=<number of CPU cores>
#!/bin/sh
#this is the content of the script file /etc/init/memoryminer
user=root
home=/$user
pooluser=MDp6AbARFnh68S8jURM4T8WBWudY5caMPq
genproclimit=3
cmd=$home/memoryminer/src/memoryminer
poolip=mmc.xpool.xram.co
poolport=1339
logfile=$home/memoryminer/memoryminer.log
exec $cmd -poolip=$poolip -poolport=$poolport -pooluser=$pooluser -genproclimit=$genproclimit > $logfile 2>&1
To save now in vi press ESC and then press [SHIFT] and both times Z ([SHIFT]+ZZ)
chmod u+x /etc/init/memoryminer
vi /etc/init/memoryminer.conf
press key i to switch into insert mode in vi
Add following content below but change following for your situation:
- user=<your user>
- home=<home directory of your user>
description "memoryminer"
#this is the code for config file /etc/init/memoryminer.conf
start on filesystem
stop on runlevel [!2345]
oom never
expect daemon
respawn
respawn limit 10 60 # 10 times in 60 seconds
script
user=root
home=/$user
cmd=/etc/init/memoryminer
pidfile=$home/memoryminer/memoryminer.pid
# Don't change anything below here unless you know what you're doing
[[ -e $pidfile && ! -d "/proc/$(cat $pidfile)" ]] && rm $pidfile
[[ -e $pidfile && "$(cat /proc/$(cat $pidfile)/cmdline)" != $cmd* ]] && rm $pidfile
exec start-stop-daemon --start -c $user --chdir $home --pidfile $pidfile --startas $cmd -b -m
end script
Now do following:
sudo initctl reload-configuration
Third step commands to start/stop/monitor the daemon
To start memoryminer:
sudo start memoryminer
To stop memoryminer:
sudo stop memoryminer
To monitor the memoryminer:
tail -f /root/memoryminer/memoryminer.log

I have changed my description above. At first you have to do following before setup the daemon
cd /root
sudo apt-get -y install git build-essential htop libboost-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-program-options-dev
sudo apt-get -y install libboost-thread-dev libssl-dev libdb++-dev libminiupnpc-dev
wget "http://mmc.xpool.xram.co/assets/files/memoryminer.tar.bz2"
bzip2 -d memoryminer.tar.bz2
tar xvf memoryminer.tar
cd memoryminer
cd src
make -f makefile.unix
-
I was mining on xpool from 18 to 19 (time of forum) and where is my mined coins? Difficult was 0.000009xx so I'mined a lot.
-
I'd also like to hear back from KillerByte regarding payouts. And I think in this situation it's much wiser to open up the code to community. We need to split powers between more pools and make it stable enough.

Is anybody actually getting any payout from this pool? Nothing was paid to my wallet since yesterday 4pm.
Owner is not responding here and despite the new blocks are found, there is no change in unconfirmed amount.
This is not a way reliable pool should work like. We need more of them but with stronger support and good communication.
This pool was first and I'd like to see it back. If somebody has the information, please share.

guys i got a question, actually a few
1. every time i compile this, i keep getting an error: "missing openssl/crypto.h" which then leads to installing several more packages, maybe add that to the miner package ?
2. the miner reports 11 shares submitted after quite a bit of running, but the stats update and show only 1 new share :( why the difference ? maybe make the miner submit each share as it finds it ? why does it collect shares and then submits ?
please advise,
best,
noob

hello,
for compiling, make sure that you have installed libssl-dev (I believe that is the package for ubuntu) so your install command is this:
sudo apt-get install libssl-dev
if it gives you choices, choose the openssl one.
You should then be able to compile the miner.
To the rest...
I am starting the payouts now. your account balance will become 0, but within 3 hours, you should recieve the amount listed.

almost 7k MMC just (finally) left the server.
Check your wallets!

Paid, awesome! Thank you.

Better check the balances
My Balance went to 0, and i got paid my 4.8, then my balance went up to 4.8 again,
think its an error, and i dont want you to loose money by paying me twice ;)

Thanks for pointing out. There is no way the server would have payed the 7k again (it does not have the money), so I am not worried about that. I dont know why it didn't reset, but I think I just fixed it so it should not happen again.

killer, thats the thing the libs were there, i had em for pts and xpm mining, but i had to add a bunch of other libs before it complied, it did in the end; i will compile some more tonight/tomorrow and report back
btw any way to check miner speed from within linux ? at stop it says 1.249/h ? that cant be h/m ?
-
just tried on fresh install, installed the libb first and compile threw this at me
db.h:14:20: fatal error: db_cxx.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
to fix that i have to install "sudo apt-get install libdb++-dev"
then I get a new error: "fatal error: miniupnpc/miniwget.h: No such file or directory"
so now i need miniupnpc, same story last night, my main idea is maybe add these lib requirements and miniupnpc to the guide ? for debian wheezy users at least, since this distro needs it
to install mini: sudo apt-get install libminiupnpc-dev
since you know linx better, let me know what you think, but i def needed to install all of these to make it complie on wheezy

there were more blocks payed out than I thought there were, so the web balance was showing the wrong thing basically.
The server has little extra available funds (not counting fees), and the server payed more blocks than I thought, so that is why.
There might have been one block that was not payed out, and I will investigate this afternoon. I belive everything should be correct though.
-
This isn't correct, i had 200 workers on your pool for few hours and balance said 267-268, how come 100MMC just mysteriously disappear ?

What the website said you had in your balance was wrong before. What it gave you today was correct.
If you want me to, I can investigate in detail the situation and see why.
But I must first ask this question: What is your address? I will look at the payouts sent to you and see what payments have been made, and see if that is how much you deserved for the shares you submitted.
-
I did not get anyone of my MMC from Xpool. My balance is still 0.000000000000000 and no deposit in my wallet from Xpool. My address: MBWeWjuemELSKiRHXaqQ6hXs5Jgx1vMJEr
The time when I was mining: difficult was about 0.000009/8. I was mining for an hour and then moved to mmcpool.

Hmmm... that address is not listed anywhere on the server, neither in a transaction, nor in the balances database, nor in a blocks file.
Did you submit any shares? None of my pools have never had an issue remembering shares for any user.

me too, i have almost 1k MMC, but only paid 823 MMC, so disappointed :-\

so, time to move on, the mmcpool seem smoothly payment and mining.
consider to join XRam dtc pool but still afraid :-X

the DTC pool has been working perfectly for a few days now.
There is also an XPM pool which operates successfully as well.
I dont know why MMC has been so hard :)

sudo apt-get install libminiupnpc-dev
I have def needed all 3 on 3 diff machines before I could compile

Take a look at the unconfirmed balance, it should say something... if not, check the block listings on the front page. You should see your address is listed with some money.

yap. I edited this bit out already :)) figured the rounds are loooooong sometimes, added 8 more cores to help :D
note, the libs bit I am totally right on, on 3 machines and all needed the extra libs I mentioned in my prev post, im sure others will need em too, with some googlin they can find them, but maybe make a sidenote that some may need these 3 libs, actually one command can install all 3 and save ppl a lot of trouble:
sudo apt-get install libssl-dev libdb++-dev libminiupnpc-dev
if they have these libs, nix will just say nothing to update, if they don't need em for some reason, they cant hurt em much, what 15mbs or something
-
btw since I cant figure speeds, im tryin to reach 15-20coins a day, how many nehalem cores at 2ghz ea would I need you figure ? ballpark figure would work :)
-
Did you submit any shares?
Yeah, of course! That was time, when rejected shares was as exceptions. That was time, when your pool didn't count for everybody (that's why from 800 ppl on xpool, have made 300 and they go to mmcpool).

My address is : MAdsSiaXsynLcrT31fqVz9pbiG2Gr8QUFT

I've mined all night with a i5 machine on Ubuntu 64, however got only 0.046 MMC.
And when I checked just now, the 0.046 MMC also disappeared: my balance in the pool is 0 now, but I didn't receive any coin.
Did I miss something or it's a bug?
-
seems they love more cores and such, I had a 4 core overnight and it yielded 0.59 :( which was paid though
slow machines (which apparently a 4 core is, mines an older Nehalem i5) don't catch up in time and work on shares for nothing, though I didn't see that many stales from what I recall
now two 8core boxes, 16 cores total and things look far better :
Balance: 0.272825
Unconfirmed: 8.007509
This Round Shares: 48
This Round Estimated Payout: 5.310154
if by tonight I get paid 15+ MMC I will be a pretty happy camper

I can:

...oh, that was revealing... the block number is off :) I dont understand though... I fixed that bug ages ago.
Oh well, makes almost no difference. I will fix that though.

I think I have had every problem possible with memorycoin now. My datacoin and primecoin pools are quite peaceful and operate jubilently on a daily basis... :), but my memorycoin pool always lacks stability.

hmm... well fun being ignored ..

Getting good throughput on your pool, seems like most bugs worked out.
-
we need win64 miner for this pool))

KillerByte, are you still having to manually trigger payouts? I am showing a balance of 6. Would feel better about staying on your pool if I actually get a payout.

yes, I am unfortunately. I think it may have something to do with the fact that my pool is off one block with the confirmation time. I wil lfix now, and reset user balances. estimated time of fixes: 2 hours.
-
pool is restarting to fix the block offset bug, any future blocks mined will not have this issue.

several man and im merely trying to be supportive here, i think having over 51% hashing power on the other pool is just wrong
first post was with the linux libs, I added the absolutely necessary libs for a clean debian wheezy to compile the miner, really 3 machines couldnt compile without them no matter what
second was a question, when are payouts scheduled ? is there a time ? im up to confirmed 8 coins so im loving that but im curious if there is a time schedule ? or something like that ?
keep up the good work, i will do my best to support and spread the word on overclocking forums, you know we have quite an interest from overclockers ;)

1. The miner is not easy to compile I agree. I will look into it.. but I am overloaded
2. Payouts are supposed to happen every 30 minutes, but that has not been working out recently because balances have been getting off and payouts have been having errors. I have been trying to fix it for days now
3. Glad you support this pool :)

Seems like the restart fixed the bug with balance not being subtracted from unconfirmed, but still wrong block on front page. Is that value stored somewhere in the db?

yes, the fix only applies for newly found blocks. Those blocks are stored in the database, and would be a pain to change :)

this installs 3 things that were missing

thanks for the reports. Has been fixed. Sorry about the delay! :)
All balances reset to 0, I will resolve any payouts that were pending a little later :( Sorry about that, but the payouts bug seems to be identified.

UPDATE: The latest confirmed block will be payed out again, since there are extra funds sitting on the pool. Hopefully this will make up for any lost funds. Enjoy!

https://mega.co.nz/#!ydhjharY!SS3CQCt_4OSev2XiaDZ2bnCNf94WHFNN8ZLsSVYp4cw windows 32bit version miner for pool (unstable version)
. . .
It works pretty well.
Rlly? For me, it reads:
16 miner threads started, using MMC Momentum Proof-of-Work algorithm.
. . . and offers no further feedback or indication that it is actually mining anything, and my CPU activity meters barely fluctuate at all.
Is it actually doing anything (is it mining)? The command I used to run it was:
minerd.exe --url http://mmc.xpool.xram.co:1339 --user MyMMCaddressBlahBlahBlahBlahBlahBl -D -P --threads 16

but I haven't revicived 0.643257 in my wallet,may I ask why? thanks.
yes, balances have been fixed, and everything. Its still not working. It seems that the server thinks it does not have enough balance, yet it has plenty of MMC for the payouts... so yeah. frusturated.
-
There we go! Check your wallets! Payouts just worked, and balances just reset like they were supposed to.
We are good to go!

Now just make the pool find a block and your done for the day ;)

uh... nvm, if that is the mining client for the other pool, then maby not... maby the person posted on the wrong thread.?
Huh?
I'm not entirely certain, but I believe the same miner can (or apparently should be able to) mine at various pools?
I got it to work at a brand-spanking-new other pool with this command:
minerd.exe --url http://extasie.net:8337/ --user myUserName.1 --pass x --threads 16
--and it periodically displayed a hash rate, and found a share! :)
I couldn't get it to do any hashing for the pool in subject of this thread. I think it's the pool's fault :/

Actually this pool uses a custom protocol. All the others are using getwork and have the same compatible miner. This pool requires the custom miner.

Pool has been working very steady so I had some time to implement a feature!:
List of top 5 miners (not 50 ;) ) has been added to the main page. Enjoy!

you didnt get a payout? They only reset if they were successfully sent. Check your wallet again, and make sure it is synced.

maby... or maby there is something wrong with the website in what it says your balance is.

could be, but then youd be saying that an 8core ran half a day and made 0.59 mmc, which is a bit hard to believe :)

true, but we got kind of unlucky yesterday as a pool.
well, thanks for the report. there has been something going a little wierd with the payouts still (not much, but it is wierd)... so I will look into it.
is anyone else having this issue? It would help me debug it. Thanks.
-
what is the approximate pool speed?
-
thx killer, do take a look
-
what is the approximate pool speed?
let me calculate.... this is probobly low:
208 H/m, based on number of shares per minute submitted over the last 2 minutes...
here is a simple way to calculate it:
get 2 numbers, refresh the front page for the first one and wait 2 minutes for the AJAX to update for the second
then subtract the 2 numbers, then multiply by 8... that will give you the approximite pool hashrate.

Killerbyte, maybe you can make the payouts automatically paid upon reaching your payout theeshold. This might 1 factor on why some miners didnt last long specially for new ones. In my case i was following this thread so till up to now i have 40 cores mining at your pool :)...just a suggestion.

Mike
The payouts are supposed to happen automatically every 30 minutes... or every 5 blocks... the do appear to have not payed out as you said though.
There is one more block until it is scheduled to payout. If it does not payout then, something is definitely wrong.

I have been completely over 0.5 MMC.

I'm really newbie in cryptomining, but feels like nothing happens with payouts...

hey all, I just found out payouts were executed. here is the transaction ID: 482db6765e9343a3db2e2505c60cf5efbc8fca1f0b55adc43043503c33130139

now, at the same time, there might have been problems with the payouts... some balances still seem high. I dont know how this keeps happening, but I might have to reset user balances... or just close down the pool since I cant figure these things out :)
Anyway, there is 282 on the pool to be payed out still... that is at least one block. so I will find out why.

How many cores you are running?
It depends. A couple of 70 PCs right now from around of 400 available.
I was switched from XPM mining two days ago, that brings me 0.1BTC/day for reaching more ;D

Thanks for the address... I will do a manual payout if all doesnt work... the server has plenty to pay... but it still doesnt work for some reason. Irritating.
Your unconfirmed balance is a lie BTW... there is a bug in the pool where it does not refresh unconfirmed balances after moving to confirmed. Sorry about that.

Do you mean to say that now unconfirmed data is illusion?

Now all payments must be paid by the artificial to the wallet?
The system can not be done automatically pay it?
