Title: BlockNet--could we collaborate?
Post by: fuzzy on October 16, 2014, 01:26:08 am
Protocols here are all that matter with respect to how we use this tech.

NHZ was the first NxT Clone to offer Gateways for all BitShares DACs...and I know for a fact that they love what this community is doing.  I should know...because I helped facilitate it!

Can I get some opinions here?  How can Voltron be built?  And who do you think will be his sword? ;)

Note:   bitUSD has a psychological advantage for non-crypto users and could be used for 5-10 years in the interum until cryptos that are even less volatile can be constructed...this might be a great idea to somehow find a way to work with it.

I dont think its technically feasible to do this unless all coin devs adhere to the same principles... even if the api is defined you cant really use the services in an interchangeable manor unless you hardcode for every service and what if you wanted to stack services? Lets not even go there.. but its adding Complexity for minimal benefit imo because a few coins will work but others that are very cool wont because the api cant be defined in the same way without major rewrites. For example:

Simple usecase:
I want to create a namecoin alias using nhz? Sure i create one..
Now I give that alias to someone to rescv coins.. the person with namecoins sends to my alias yet my nhz wallet has no idea about this or how to handle it. Does this mean my nhz client has a namecoin wallet too? Complexity just so I can use the alias service? Since an alias is tied to a private key it must sit in the same wallet that was used when creating (the one that was created for you when you converted nhz coins ti nmc on the decentralized market).. how is the alias remaining persistent? or are only specific services going to be possible? See what Im saying?

I think something like this could be done with the largest coins where it is actually feasible to hardcode all the different commands into the system

Hey guys, we posted our FAQ + ITO details for Blocknet.

I'm Nick Cote, managing director of NHZ, and a manager on XC. I've spoken with a bunch of you on the weekly dev hangouts, so if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them, or find an answer if I do not know them.

While our projects aren't connected directly, I believe in creating collaborative ecosystems between technology, communities, and dev teams to further all blockchain based technology.

I can't post any external links here apparently, so please refer to my pinned post on my Twitter account, thank you.

Is there a technical paper?

+5% +5%

This is what I'm hoping can happen with Bitshares DACs.
Imagine if they could all communicate and interconnect via atomic cross chain transactions?
