General Discussion / Re: Light Wallet Beta Release
« on: March 10, 2015, 02:14:57 am »
At present, I have no plans on integrating with any particular exchanges or gateways. Sending to and receiving from these services using the light wallet should work as expected, and I do not necessarily want to endorse any particular service over another.

There is a way to achieve both goals:

* Offer a single deposit/withdraw interface
* Integrate a bridge wrapper
* Choose the bridge with the best price for the chosen coin type

This doesn't unfairly advantage any particular bridge and is win/win for everyone :)

To sell now when this project is so young is beyond my comprehension but whatever.

Agreed.  We're currently at version 0.6.2 and people are throwing in the towel?  ::)
I've been trading exclusively in the client and its already fantastic.. 1.0 is going to blow minds but whatever people can sell shares because I'll buy  8)

These are unchartered territories.. a completely new industry with completely new technology.  In my perspective, BitShares has done far more in a single year than Bitcoin has done in its entire existence.  That's not to belittle the effect of Bitcoin but in terms of investment I feel BitShares has certainly delivered.. especially since sizable gains remain from the IPO (donation) period and the technology is greatly improved and continues to do so.

I wish you the best of luck with your investments and hope you remain active in the BitShares community because I think we're on the cusp of something huge.

May I make a suggestion?

Being the media contact is exactly what I would like to be doing for bitshares.  Positioning and messaging is one of my strong suits and I think I would be good at it, perhaps even as good as Dan and he would be free to spend his time on tasks with more value.

I am not sure if I have Dan's star power and so Journo's may not be as excited to talk to me as they are him, but I think that would change in time.

What do you think?  Should be put on the site as the media contact and allow journo's to come straight to me?

 +5%! YES you'd do a stellar job!

A little feedback- I noticed that you said '... in this book' when it should probably be '... in these videos' since it's adapted to video format.  A better quality camera would help too.  If you don't have delegate funds for a new camera, I wouldn't mind sending you some bitUSD to help out !

1. In the Exchange, when I first click the bitUSD:BTS chart it open the bitSILVER:BTS trading, then it hang and crash afterwards.

2. I sold all the amount of coins and it keep some dust
0.000001 CFSGOLD
0.000001 GOLD
0.0001 SILVER

I've experienced these as well

Is there any reason for them not to continue?

This.  Why wouldn't they continue?  I'm rarely able to participate but I really enjoy listening to the Hangouts.. it keeps me up to date on things that I've missed on the forum and it's a great outlet for the community to discuss ideas.

I have used almost every version of the wallet form the beginning with few issues. Starting with 0.61  lost account names, balances and transactions

0.62 blockchain synced quickly, under an hour, and  account names show, but no balances or transactions

Mavericks, fully synced 0.62
Do balances and transactions return when you right click and select reload?

This.  I had to refresh after syncing everything.

General Discussion / Re: Instead of adding BitShares to a Bitcoin wallet...
« on: February 26, 2015, 09:03:33 pm »
Ok, I'm glad that BitShares Exchange is getting a resounding '+5%' :)

I would go as far to say that we should never refer to the application as 'wallet' ever again. If you need a generic term, you can use 'client'.

So for example, you can say,

"Within the client, you can..."
"Download the client"
"The new client version is out!"
"The desktop client has the benefit of higher security, while the web client has the benefits of accessibility and speed"

Additionally, you can replace the term 'address' with 'account'. These changes may seem small, but if we are all consistent about it, it will set our product apart from our competition. It will be hard to break the habits, but it will be way worth it.
