General Discussion / Re: Escrow for BTS X Buyers/Sellers

Finished transacting with clout - superb response.

With Simeon II, we ran into a glitch. I had 3 pending transactions, which are now gone. However he says he received them. The UI balance for me shows as if they have gone through. However in the history I see a different final balance. Oh my... which one do we believe?

UPDATE: I've restarted / cleaned pending transactions / rescanned / etc.

Its inflated because there are a huge number of people who felt trapped in Bitshares for much longer than they wanted to be, so i'm expecting as soon as you can easily move funds onto a market we'll see a lot of people cash out 10%-20% to BTC, which will depress the price quite a bit since Invictus hasn't done anything to market it, yet there's all this demand to get out.

Yes, but also as soon as the funds can be moved, it will also be a proof this is working well, plus trading BitAssets will come online.

I actually believe this is a low price. I just invested too much in AGS, and now want to invest some in other things like StorJ.

I also think I can buy cheaper in the coming weeks.

My posts are also more a vote of confidence for the product!

I sent you and clout a PM... no reply.

a display problem?  try the command "wallet_account_balance" on console page.

it s not a display problem.

>> wallet_account_balance

I'll buy 500,000 BTSX at 0.0000225 BTC per BTSX

I'll take half - 250,000 BTSX. That will be 5.625 BTC. Unless someone wants to bid higher.

CLARIFICATION: Taking half of your offer to buy. I'll sell 250,000 BTSX at that price.

Hi folks!

We want to introduce HappyShares - the first and #1 BitShares reward program to you. Vote for our delegates and achieve pro-rata profit in BTSX.
At the moment we refund 50% of all delegate revenues back to our voters. A nice website is almost finished, where you can lookup
your earnings, stats and info. Online in the next few days. Stay tuned!

HS, I sent you a PM, how can you verify if someone voted for you? And is your rebate going to be pro-rated based on the voter size?

Ok. I'll bite. I'm divesting BTSX. What price do you have for me?

My understanding is because votes are based on stake.  It wouldn't matter how many accounts you have because your total stake, or voting power, would be the same.

You totally missed the point, I didn't imply it's not based on stake:

1) Why shouldn't I be allowed to vote for myself with my own stake?
2) What's preventing me from creating a delegate B) then voting for B) with A) which has the large % stake?! :)

Whats the reasoning behind not voting for yourself?  or is that only for the GUI.  If so why is that?

Because getting a delegate is now a popularity contest. :)

I see no reason why this shouldn't be allowed. I mean what's preventing one to create a separate wallet and vote for themselves anyways.

Does anyone have a rough step by step guide how to compile it in ubuntu (14.04)?

I have almost compiled it on Ubuntu 14.04. Have a look at the BUILD_UBUNTU.md file.

those instructions are to build bitshares toolkit, not the BTSX from DAC Sun Limited.

Does voting take into account balance of the voter?

Code: [Select]
wallet_approve_delegate kpd-1

I've been running 24/7 during test net.

It is not an exchange yet.

It is just (another) coin :)

I was being sarcastic.

export your BTC / PTS private keys from the Bitcoin / Protoshares wallets. Then import those private keys. That's what I did, and I think it's the safest.

That said - BTSX is going to have a shitstorm to deal with if we don't start documenting in the Wiki how to perform basic operations, and include a playbook as to what to do in certain problematic cases. (Like the one run into for example)
