Technical Support / Re: Withdraw USD from Bitshares client to a bank account
« on: September 21, 2015, 07:27:41 am »

This a way too convoluted for my tastes. minebitshares.com converts mined coins into USD and sends them to the Bitshares client. To get the USD I have to open yet another account I don't really want, convert my USD into bitUSD to transfer it to the exchange, then convert it to BTC at the exchange and send it to another exchange to convert into fiat which then deposits into my Simple account. Surely I'm missing something. Converting USD into something else then back into USD seems rather silly.

Minebitshares is sending you bitUSD to your bitshares client. Not fiat USD. It's just labeled "USD" in the bitshares client but it's bitUSD.

Bump. I'm running a Mac and haven't updated to 0.9.3 yet. Would like to hear it's working for a few folks before I try.

what if you have BTS on POLO?

Then it's up to them, but they should honor your balance and allow you to withdraw it to your 2.0 wallet after release.

Running a risk there. I wouldn't trust any centralized exchange to get it right - even if they have good intentions.

Better off setting up the 0.9.2 desktop client and letting it sync or creating a web wallet at wallet.bitshares.org...then transfer your balance and backup your wallet prior to October 13th.

If a sub account name with a "." never gets approved by the parent, it will receive an error when you try to register it.

Of course it's possible to be an ungrateful investor. I'm not saying your are one Tonyk. Satisfaction is in the eye of the beholder and rather depends on your reasons for investing and a million other things.

Perhaps there will come a time when every holder of Bitshares will be very happy, I hope so.  Will that invalidate all the criticism and accusations for anyone who has felt aggrieved along the way? Of course not. All the feedback has helped to articulate this communities expectations and guide the analysis of what has been accomplished so far. It is all a rich tapestry of our interactions as we learn and implement our way to success.

I feel bad for anyone who has put money into Bitshares, lost hope, sold and lost out. It would be great if they all come back and join in the success we all hope is around the corner.

We've probably all been through periods of time where we could classify ourselves as ungrateful investors...

Well said!!

I hate how slow coinbase is. Got about 9 days left.

Hard to believe you on that.

I have 99 CFSCOIN sitting in my wallet. I'll gladly send them back to you for free - or if you want to send me one or two MKR as a tip, that's cool too :-).

What is the recommended course of action for someone who wants to HODL their BTS straight through from BTS 0.9.2 through BTS 2.0 (Graphene) ?

wait until 2.0 is operational and import your keys. migration is easy

Thanks guys. Sorry to hijack the thread temporarily.

“Digital currencies have immense potential to improve human welfare by strengthening the capacity of governments to deliver more responsive services and secure the rights of their citizens to property, identity and increase financial inclusion…And because it is an open-source protocol for innovation, a wide range of services and products can be built by entrepreneurs and non-profits on top of it.”

Government is taboo around here, but I think this quote is OK.

Weird use of "bitshares" in the article. Can't tell if this is due to translation or the author not being knowledgeable of crypto, or a chance this is our Bitshares?

Thanks for the slightly deeper dive in the comments Murderistic and Stan. This is an AWESOME announcement. Good luck and will be checking it out!!

My interpretation of the post is that there isn't a share drop here. I think it would have been mentioned if there were. I think there are 3 existing partners, plus holders of the UIA will make up the 4th. Is that right?
