Title: Web Wallet Firefox Privacy
Post by: brads on October 14, 2015, 04:51:55 pm
I'm unable to delete web wallet under Firefox, I mean even deleting everything (history, cache...) when I close the browser then open it and going to https://bitshares.openledger.info/ my wallet is here again. With google Chrome it is ok.

My other concern is do I have to backup wallet or is it enough to backup brain key ?

Backup wallet.
Backing up the brainkey only recovers new accounts made from within the wallet, not imported ones.

Thanks. I used to backup textual data and I must admit I'm not very fond of binary data. Is there a way to get private keys (I can use cli wallet if necessary) ?

I am of the same opinion.  I would hope that the CLI would allow some sort of owner-key dumppriv but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Rather hard to do paper wallets with binary keys.  Maybe someone with some experience could shed some light?

Firefox indexeddb are not deleted when you ask to delete everything ! This is a shame for a browser claiming to protect your privacy.

You can check in AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxx\storage\default under Windows...

Makes sense, but I reckon a lot of people will get screwed over this! Better make it a big red warning somewhere relevant!

You can try dump_private_keys command on the cli wallet.
