My bet is the major winners haven't even launched yet.

This would be far better as a trust free bitasset.

Hoskinson attaches himself to people like Dan and Vatalik because he needs their innovation.  He is an expert at blowing smoke and sales and networking.

He is like steroids, impressive growth but ultimately harmful to those around him.

How about creating bitusd2 which is a bitasset pegged to the dollar and backed by bitusd.    The price feed would indicate the premium on bitusd.

Bitusd2 would have a much closer peg because shorts have much less risk and the feed is far more predictable.

Privacy is largely an illusion, even with Bitcoin and stealth addresses.

Block chain is never exposed to risk.   The risk of loss is priced into a premium.  The feed should rarely be called upon to settle because better prices can be found above the feed.

Those with bitusd will use it even with a slight premium because they get the benefits of holding and using crypto.

I'm intensely curious to know what choices have been made here.

Possibilities I thought off include consolidating all the leveldb databases by prefixing the leveldb keys with namespaces.

Or alternatively using a memory-mapped data-structure (btree) implementation.

If disk io is the issue then neither of your suggestions would work.

Bts already does this using info from the transaction.

I have a quick question regarding client and GUI:

I saw (https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares/releases) that only for Linux there are separated programs, i.e., client (daemon?) and GUI. Why is this not the case for MacOS and Windows? I would love to run a "headless" client on Windows - given that the official GUI is still a bit buggy.

That way, people could start writing GUIs independently, or start integrating Bitshares into their applications. I'd love to see that possibility. Any chances on this on systems other than Linux any soon?

You can run headless on any platform.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Paid Workers Proposal for Review

Yiminh. His paid delegate position says otherwise.   These ideas clearly are focused on decentralizing control and minimizing regulatory risk.   Bitcoin has developers set fees and blocksizes. It is a major challenge to change these this.  With these tools BM is giving us the power to make changes without hard forks or developer intervention.  No one else has anything close.
