So if someone wants to license Graphene for a private chain, can they just buy the license from Cryptonomex, or do they have to buy it AND share drop on BTS holders? Or is share dropping on BTS not required, but could get them a discount on the license?

Cryptonomex is a private co so they can make any deals they want for Graphene licenses and don't have disclose anything to "us" anyway.

This whole announcement seems like more kicking the can/dangling yet another carrot/just generally keeping the BTS community on the hook to me. Announcement for the sake of an announcement.

Could we collaborate and start a mini graphene arm test net in this thread (or  a new thread)?

I have been trying to start a test net with lafona using the CLI Wallet Cookbook but I think we are on different chains.

Lets see if these little computers can keep up with MasterCard  :P

I have the basic witness node running, but I'm at the point where I need to follow the instructions Xeroc posted the other day for a Witness in 2.0 that processes and signs blocks...I don't have the technical understanding at the command line level to do it on my own with confidence. If someone doesn't mind holding my hand a little, I definitely have some time I can contribute to this though, and would definitely like to learn.

Please Fill Out this spreadsheet with your info for brownies.  We need this for proper distribution.

I didn't receive any brownie.pts for attending the mumble on 7/17/15. I had marked that column with an X and the spreadsheet says Stan Dispursed on my row.

Who relies on someone else to "autobackup" (didnt know that was a thing) their wallet?

Create backups on multiple usb sticks. You only have a backup on your C: drive?

Also I really should create a backup on CD to deal with the possibility of an EMP pulse.

I'm pretty sure he meant that they ran a backup program for the whole machine and saved it to different partition, the restored the machine. When the backup was applied, the wallet wasn't included.

So he wiped the machine without confirming he had a safe copy of the json.

Totally agree that multiple encrypted USB is a really good idea.

General Discussion / Re: Announcing Brownie Points (BROWNIE.PTS)

Not sure if you are still reading this Fuzz, BM, etc but I got a witness node stood up on a Raspberry Pi 2 with the image Maqifrnswa built last week. Not sure if that warrants any brownie.pts but I'm incentive driven so figured I would put it out there.

Brownie is being perceived as being a potential sharedrop target for Cryptonomex' shares.
BTS going down, Brownie.PTS up.
This reinforces my fears that the market will perceive CNX as potentially more profitable than Bitshares and that there's a huge conflict of interest on the Dev's side.
With one deal with a decent bank, CNX may become more valuable then the entire current Bitshares market cap.

I am very confused...As far as I understand CNX will honor all BTS1:BTS2 in 1:1 conversion and all bitassets. In CNX bitasset creation will happen again with shortselling and using BTS as collateral isn't it? Therefore for every bitasset created in CNX you will still need 2xBTS as collateral to back this right? So I don't see how CNX can be a competitor to BTS...It is just an enhancement of the current client with much much more options isn't it?

I think you are confusing CNX with BTS 2.0....the speculation is that CNX, as a private company, will release a UIA that is a share in CNX....not related to the entire BTS2.0 platform which will honor BTS 1:1. The additional speculation is that brownie.pts will be a sharedrop target for the CNX UIA.

EDIT: Plus what Empircal said above.

I don't think so. Haven't seen any from those two mumbles in my wallet.

No they have not yet been dispursed.  I have the information and am getting ready to put it in the excel sheet tonight before I go to sleep. I have a wallet on a donated vps from fox (thanks fox) and will be getting it set up completely today and tomorrow.  When I send them I'll post the list of people along with what I sent them.  Thanks for your patience in this matter.

Thanks Fuzzyy!!

witness node is chugging along...can I do anything with it that is helpful or useful for development?

I'm going to dig into the command line wallet and one of the dummy accounts tonight after work.

Up and running on the RPI 2. Now just have to work through the Github instructions. This is my first exposure to Linux.

Still can't extract the .img file to write to SD card because it says its 734 PB.

wierd, sorry about that... something up with partitions maybe? What OS are you using (and steps to decompress?)

I have another image to put up soon too, busy at work so I might not get to it for a few days.

As of now I'm not able to do a windows 10 PI image, but if someone is willing to please go ahead. Since the goal is simplicity and security, sticking with a minimal linux server is what i'm most comfortable with.

Using Zipeg on OSX and it looks like it's extracting to about 5GB. Should be good to go. Thanks again!
