Technical Support / Re: How to specify the sending address
« on: January 15, 2014, 05:16:20 am »
I would say that's impossible.

The wallet decides which addresses (when the amount is big, it may need multiple input addressed) would be used to send the amount and sometimes the change will return to a 'hidden address' in your wallet.

Below post would help you:

I've an Excel in hand so I made a VBA function to compare the master book from agsexplorer.com and angelshares.info.

Agsexplorer.com has a API so it's easy to get all data, the data from angelshares.info are manual copied.

The result is a little astonished as no single result is identical in two sites!

To make the result meaningful, I changed the formula and considered the diff small than 10 (which is 0.00000001 AGS) as 'equal' because those diff may caused by different round trip in two sites.

However, even with that, the result is still not comfortable:

For BTC, only 30% can be thought as 'equal' and 56% have diff more than 0.00000001 AGS. The left 14% are orphan records, which means only exist in Agsexplorer.com and can't be found in angelshares.info.

For PTS, only 37% can be thought as 'equal' and 24% have diff more than 0.00000001 AGS. The left 39% are orphan records, which means only exist in Agsexplorer.com and can't be found in angelshares.info.

The picture is below and the compare sheet can be downloaded from here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2mCZ92eP_PeYy1hWldIcnJlZmM/edit?usp=sharing

Green:    diff < 0.00000001 AGS and thought as 'equal'
Yellow:    diff > 0.00000001 AGS and thought as 'suspicious"
Red:       orphan, record exist in agsexplorer.com but not in angelsshares.info

I don't know why the result is that but such a result is clearly not good... hope the site owner could explain that :)

I am giving you this bounty + an extra 1 PTS for the through research.  Please provide an address.    I expect the two teams to post here to resolve the differences in their accounting.

Thanks, please send the PTS to PryJ5DLovVj3Pck7sQWrwqia4gFSURL7xh :)

BitShares AGS / Re: AngelShare Pay To Many - Be Careful!
« on: January 14, 2014, 09:49:03 am »
Just tried, if you try to add a 'wallet hidden address" to your address, the wallet will alert message:

---------------------------
New sending address
---------------------------
The entered address "Pcem5N9LoFaEbpX2kuRu4amSkbDDi4aw64" is already in the address book.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Better to update the message to clear indicate that's a wallet hidden address, or that could be a bug??

I'm a bit confused, can somebody explain this?  I made a donation this morning with Protoshares-Qt of exactly 2 PTS.  I went to the coinplorer page to verify my payment to see that there are two addresses on my donation line.  One address I recognize as an address I created for receiving payouts from my mining pool.  The other address I did not create.  Is this an internal address created by the Protoshares client? Does Protoshares internally manage which addresses should be used to send payment?  How am I supposed to guarantee a payment if I'm not sure which address I sent it from?

It gets more confusing when I click on the transaction page.  Why does input and output add up to greater than 2?  Where did this extra money come from, and where did it go to?
https://coinplorer.com/PTS/Transactions/c5872e6c8e4b1e7a3371654597b82e54902fdb217bf92e1e57db34b703a6d751

Thanks,

Scott

I met the same problem.

I checked my AGS balance on http://www1.agsexplorer.com/ using all the addresses found in my wallet and found the total number is not match, I donated 7 PTS but all my addressed added are shown only 6 on the site.

I then checked my translation and found one translation has an input which is not exist in my wallet:
https://coinplorer.com/PTS/Transactions/9e8b75771a386f20d9685027c285a2ec5c0ada72c7c07bc94b02a9ccca246af1

I guess this might be the 'wallet auto-generated address for change" as bytemaster indicated.

I want to know whether this 'hidden address' would also claim my AGS?

I think it's hard to know how many AGS my wallet would have because all the addresses in my wallet are not "all" that I have, it's confusion and weird...

Is it possible to calculate all my AGS just using my visible addresses? Interesting to know.

Ypool is the static value, the dynamic value is here: http://mrx.im/pts.php

103
That sounds reasonable

The PTS price is continue downgrading recent days and make it not as profitable as LTC or other altcoins. May by the low difficult could still stay for a while, sounds like a good news for CPU players.

Recheck your config file, it must have some error, the correct one should like below:

Code: [Select]
threads = 7
mining-params = pts:av=0&m=1024
mine = xpt2h://username.worker:x@mining.ypool.net:10034:8080:8081:8082:8083:8084:8085:8086:8087/pts
mine = xpt2://PwCSaPgoJZhfmRLLyWbTKQAvCvWoDC4fuD:x@112.124.13.238:28988/pts
#proxy = socks4a://111.111.111.111:1080
