Yeah I've been noticing this as well but for depositing. Wanted to buy a heap of PTS the other night cheap but couldn't get any funds in till the orders were filled. PTS has gone up over night I see, would have profited nicely but never mind.

As of this post it appears to be working for BTC deposit/withdraw

wowzor just did a conversion, I can make $100AUD more converting to BTC > ZAR then BTC > AUD, wish I was heading there this year. My mum will be in the cape middle of next month via Kenya and Tanzania but she's already dumped all her cash into USD before it rose against the AUD.

I guess my question was more on the lines of, is that functionality implemented or still being worked on?

Will it just credit straight up what is in the users wallet at the time of syncing with BitShares or does it perform the snapshot feature (i.e. gives only the number of pts held at a given time)?

Had a flick through it last night to see anything to credit pts wallet.dat but not there yet unless it's on someone's PC yet to be committed. I'm hoping to solve this problem before the launch of keyhotee

I had a bit of a cursory glance to see if there are any BT exchanges in SA and noticed they exist. Was weighing up putting all my cash for when I head over there into a crypto then withdrawing it over there in RAND as it could be cheaper then exchanging the traditional way here.

Sanibona! I'm not South African but I've been a couple of times, heading back end of next year for round 3. Learning a bit of isiZulu at the moment, when I get more fluent I'll post some more here.

I don't like the idea of centralising anything at any point especially programmers because the group could ultimately be held liable for the actions of the DAC.

As you say a coder may only be holding 0.0001% of a stock and there is no motivation for them to program, however if they really think it's a good idea then they can invest in the protoshares and gain a bigger stake. If they truly believe in the idea they will feel that the cost of buying a stake will result in a profit for them. If the price of the shares has risen out of their range this would probably suggest that there has been major progress within the DAC community and coders are already at work on final products.

The DAC coding should be looked at as a community process just like any open source project, hundreds of people contributing to the one source code to come to a final end. The more coders working the less each coder will need to do (in theory...practice is another thing which would assume all code is commented correctly and in a way that can be understood by all).

Ultimately I feel the issues you are raising are ones that a final DAC will have to handle but I don't think centralising the ownership to the developers of the software is a good idea if we want to eliminate liability and regulation.

Ok I've updated the thread title to reflect what I'm up to, I've started writing down all my ideas and those contributed here and in other threads. Should have all that worked through to a stage where we can build off it to improve the initial ideas and actually start implementing a system.

All going to plan a certain cytro-currency which may or may not be useful for this will appear in the next two weeks. I'll use this thread to keep everyone up to date and please send me all suggestions, although it'll be best once a community site focused on this particular project "appears"

I have a question.
If someone has a lot of APshares in this case,  does it mean he actually gain control of this DAC to a degree?
Since that writters are paid with APshares,  can he sell his APshares to make APshares priced down?

Thanks in advance.

Based on the OP case study people buy shares in the authors articles so that they don't really have shares the APshares DAC as far as I can tell. Also the author doesn't receive APshares they are paid by dividends & transmission fees associated with people publishing the article to more people.

Thank you for pointing out my misunderstanding

Shares in the Author's Articles are backed by Shares in the AP DAC and royalties / etc earn shares in the AP DAC.   An article becomes like a BitShares BitAsset that pays interest to the author rather than holder of the bitasset.

Ah yes of course, that makes sense. Still pretty new to all this, getting a slightly better understanding each day
