General Discussion / Re: BTSX client closes/crashes W7/W8

It opens for me first time around. Trying to quit it wont work. It just hangs. Then same problem of webkit not launching.

edit: works for me after 2-3 tries but keeps saying severe network problem. delegate participation is below 60%

Bitshares delegates or users can mine it for us and offer an IOU token so that we can just buy our ETH from within Bitshares itself by buying their ETH cloud mining asset.
Not related to topic at hand but this is a very bad idea. This is how most scams on btctalk start - an IOU to mine with a huge hash rate promise which is never met. I am yet to get BTSX working but if we already have some assets like that with volume - I think we might be looking at first scams coming out of BTSX.

How about an option for "holding" ;) even though if it means zombie btsx accounts for year or two.
I you don't move you btsx once a year you might be forced to pay a 5% inactivity fee .. just FYI

Well my bet is if it performs what it says then 5% will not be something to be worried about.

But from what I read US government seems more friendlier to the bitcoin (or the crypto) space. On the other hand, China has some really tough rules against the crypto space? So I am wondering if this is a good move.

That said, I still can't get BTSX working so most of it has been for naught (at least for me  :'( )

I am a bit slow; it is still unclear to me. Stan what was the restructuring you guys have gone through? The reason I ask is I have donated AGS to 3I and I think (not sure if you agree) that I should at least get a know into what exactly happened here. It just took many of us by surprise.

The last few sentences are confusing (about hill tops). Are you saying 3I has given BTSX so that they can prove great risk reward for DACS UnLimited?

General Discussion / Re: "asset_reg_fee": "151,295.55840 BTSX",

You can view the accumulated transaction fees via the get_info call in the CLI... these are slowly paid to the delegates over 2 weeks.

Code: [Select]
"blockchain_accumulated_fees": "150,446.30993 BTSX",
I am just wondering wouldn't this make holding on to your BTS more valuable (coupled with the fees being destroyed by delegates).

afaik 3i cannot run the dacs due to legal reasons .. maybe stan can clear this up
This I understand but it wasn't too long ago when the entire team of 3I was ready to pack their back and leave the country.

Plus its confusing this way. If it is something which could "fit any industry listed above" (description of this subforum) then why not leave them there. Now we have two subforums this and the "Bank and Exchange"

OTOH, guys any can help me with the issue I posted? The time I spend sitting, the asset registration is running away, I wanted to register something which I am sure guys would have loved on here.

General Discussion / BTSX no longer 3I's baby?
« on: July 20, 2014, 01:27:54 pm »
I am wondering, why others are not wondering that BTSX has been sent to "Alternative DACs" rather than keeping it under their wings at "Bank & Exchange".

The sub-forum "Alternative DACs" by description was supposed to be dedicated to "Post your DAC business plan that doesn't fit any industry listed above" ie non-3I DACs.
So what happened with BTSX exactly? Some clarity and clarification please. Who is DACUnlimited exactly? Has it something to do with 3I distancing them from such DAcs?

PS: if anyone can help me out with this, that'll be appreciated too :P https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=5814.0

General Discussion / How to get BTSX working on Windows 7
« on: July 20, 2014, 08:41:33 am »
I had already posted this in the main thread but thought there might be others needing help too. So here's the issue:
I got the BTSX installed but had to close it mid blockchain download to restart my computer. Once it was done and I tried to open BTSX again, I keep getting this:

restarts are not helping.

Edit: It also seems BTSX is not closing completely on closing it, I have to manually crash it by going to "processes"
It works intermittently for me. So I have not yet tried to import wallet or priv key till now.

It seems that the WebKit is acting up - try right click within the document and then "Reload"?
Nope doesn't work

The secret will remain a secret as I dint leave any on the exchanges, just too much risk. In any case there is the huge sell wall on bter for 6 BTC, people on btc38 must be salivating/kicking themselves :P
