General Discussion / Re: Withdraw All of Your BTS from Poloniex

Poloniex doesn't actually trade BTS on their site. You are trading made up tokens. They also allow people to short on margin which does not require someone to lend the shares to you. The are lending fake BTC to you and you can then create fake BTS from the lent btc.

You have to borrow polo bts IOUs in order to short however, from other users lending them out.

Within OpenLedger you can cancel an order that has NOT yet been transacted, but a fee has already occurred.  I assumed that when I cancelled the order from the orderbook, the transaction fee would be returned.  It does not.  I think you agree, that is wrong or is a bug that needs to be fixed.

While we cannot have the fee be absolutely zero for a cancelled order because it would allow peopel to spam the blockchain, I think the total fee for a cancelled transaction should be like 0.1 BTS.

Other people can make a wallet that looks better, and there are multiple wallet projects in the works.  There is incentive to create your own better wallet and get referrals. ;)  So this is a problem the community can fix.

why are the fees 21bts?

any reason for that? didnt it use to be less than 1bts?

is the burning thing a new feature? so over time how can that work out if bts are being reduced?

I am really wondering right now

Yes the goal is to become profitable now, which will make BTS valuable.

Dont trade tiny amounts at a time.

If you trade a significant amount, then the 10 cent fee you pay BTS will be way way less than the .2% fee you pay an exchange to make an order.

Also, if you buy a membership then the fee is reduced by 80%.

The price is going up again?
350k coins reduced today via fees burned..

Is this good or bad? ....doesnt that mean fees are kind of high?

Burning bts to make a profit for holders is the entire purpose of BTS.  The more BTS burned the better, it reduces sell pressure.

Why they don't show the wallets to public?

They should, but 2.0 is new so perhaps they havent figured it all out yet.
I think its a bit too early to call foul on this.

But they should show balance fairly soon.

I just want to make sure I understand the OP correctly.
Does this mean that 328k of BTS have been burned due to new lifetime members, account names registrations etc and the bts supply is currently c2,511,625 BTS instead of c2,511,953 bil BTS?

BTS supply is actually more like 2,533,000.  Coinmarketcap hasnt updated it in like 8 months.

You are not factoring the loan's and shorts. They would account for the differences. That's why ppl don't like showing their books, you get quick to judge ppl screaming from making the wrong conclusions.

No they wouldnt.

But polo has plenty more bts in wallets they arent showing us yet.

Is there a block explorer for 2.0?  We need bitsharesblocks to get updated to show the new chain's stats.

Time to buy back in I think, with whatever you sold in expectation of the release dump.

Poloniex has way more than 12M on the exchange.

Give them some time to sort 2.0 out.

Has BTS been on the radar of any big timer VCs?

If it was they probably wouldnt let us know ahead of them buying. :P
