Just seeing if anyone is interested in this.
There has been a lot of interest in a community marketing team and lots of us have been trying to coordinate efforts through PM but this forum software makes that difficult. Since someone has to take the initiative, I've decided to use forum.nullstreet.com (http://forum.nullstreet.com) as an invite only forum for a community marketing effort. All creatives will be made open source and publicly viewable.
For now, this has been set to invite only until we figure out what we want to "officially" do.
Click here to register. (http://forum.nullstreet.com/index.php/user/join) I will approve familiar usernames. Please use a different password.
Hopefully this gets a little bit of traction.

The forum is using open source code found here (https://github.com/esotalk/esoTalk). It's very clean and easy to use.

Don't be sad Gensto1. We are all in this together...it is good we are forming up in a tighter coalition.
@Method -- Do you happen to have a 125x125 icon? Or maybe you could put a link to the forum registration in a banner on Null Street's website? I have the main page linked in Mumble if you think that suffices, but it is always nice to make it one-click for users to ensure noone is missed.

This reminds me of a much improved "Team Viral" :)
Great work Methodx - reviewing content now, looking forward to where this is heading.

Bump. Also please vote for marketing.methodx 8)
It's only been a day and there are 104 posts, 21 conversation, 37 users and 7 users currently online. The hivemind is taking this in a very good direction.

I'm not sure if I approve of invite only or not.
Why is invite only necessary?
Nonetheless, I'm about to sign up. I haven't been as active lately but I do still like to follow this stuff.

Hm, I suspect my only use here would be to look at things from a not-stuck-inside-the-crazy-hype-bubble that people fall into around here, but worth a shot...

We are crazy! I will not argue here. We are buying 2 large pizzas for 10K BTC so to speak...People will call us crazy for a long time in the future, I believe.
[disclaimer] I paid 1000 BTS for a picture of 20 dollar bill, picture posted on a forum!

I suppose at some point we should kill TASKFORCES subforum. There are likely a few useful concepts there like the bump threads, but it really doesn't serve any purpose as I think the utility will be going on at this forum.

Thanks for the invite, but I really suck at marketing...I might do it just to keep myself informed.

I think the general fear is that competitors will find out what we post so therefore it should be private. Personally I don't think anyone is paying attention to BitShares but if it makes people feel comfortable it is what it is. I think the important thing is to get some traction and actually get some stuff done.

It's a good start. I'm in.

let me know if we can close this board --

Here's a comment MeTHoDx left on the forum that basically sums up the approach.
"Let's spend the next few days fleshing out all the ideas. After that we can begin prioritizing and formulating action steps. It's clear we have a considerable amount of good ideas. We just need to figure out who is good at what and what ideas are immediately doable."

I've registered. Just gotta wait now to see if I'm enough of a "familiar username" to get approved! :-*

Cool, I believe this kind of marketing initiated by common users may bring bigger achievement than hired marketing team.

Would love to see both sides feeding off one another over the next month. I've already been in contact with Brian on helping on keeping tweets coming to the official Twitter and developing the master writer crypto journalist list. Love seeing some of the things BitMarket has been talking about.

What about making a vouching / approval system to get voted in? Like: One needs three vouches from people on nullstreet to get into nullstreet. This way Methodx doesn't have that much responsibility/work and can leverage the knowledge and social ties of others.

Eventually there will certainly need to be a closing off of open registration. This is simply to protect those who are working their asses off. The last thing we want is people from competing projects joining and knowing the marketing angles at play before they are even used.

At some point I think new users should have to build a reputation on Bitsharestalk (this forum) before being given access to Nullstreet.

That's what I've been doing. I only accept people with a reputation on here and reject all others. And I will PM the users on here to verify it's really them.
